Ibeon Saengeun Cheoeumira (2017)
Even if you don't like Kdramas you'll enjoy this.
Sometimes Korean dramas are bordering on the soapy side of life, they can meandering side plots involving things like health emergencies and stalkers. They're a lot of fun but can sometimes be a bit 'much' for a western audience.
Because this is my first life takes a very melodramatic, soapy concept (two strangers marrying to save money) but manages to spin it into a really lovely, believable sixteen episode love story. It's helped a lot by the way it envelopes the two main characters friends, and their love stories, into the main plot.
An incredibly refreshing Kdrama that I'd highly recommend even if you've never watched one before.
Falling Inn Love (2019)
If the NZ tourist board made a movie.
This isn't the greatest film you'll ever watch. It's not the worst either. Tropey, poorly acted in places and with writing that's more than a little clunky there are plenty of reasons to not watch this but it you're looking for something gentle, that'll make you feel cosy inside and that doesn't require a lot of thought then this is a good Netflix choice. (Supporting cast are a particular delight. Cheesy over-actors but extremely charming)
Ghosts (2019)
Sublime silliness from the HH team
If you're looking for something brighten Monday evenings then you can't do much better than this. A little weird and a lot funny this is another hit from the Horrible Histories team.
