My wife and I watched this movie Big Ass Spider last night Directed by Mike Mendez and written by Gregory Gieras. It had a great cast including Ray Wise, Greg Grunberg, Lin Shaye, Patrick Bauchau, Clare Kramer and many more. This movie was well written, well directed and great effects. We love spider movies and some we have seen was rather shoddy and looked like it was done with a home video camera. This movie is different. This one was very well filmed. We laughed all the way through this movie. I am looking forward to any other films Mike has done. I have seen a couple of his films in the past, The Covent and Gravedancers an both was great. This movie and the other two i have mentioned and saw is indeed a great addition to your video library

Great Movie

I had the opportunity of watching the film Nara written and directed by Navin Ramaswaran. This film had a great story line and was well written and directed. This film had a great cast consisting of Dylan MacDonald, Nicole Maroon, Christine Chemello and many others. I am a big fan of indie horror and thriller films. This is one film that i can watch over and over again. In the past year this director has become a good friend and it was a great honor to watch his work. The sound, cinematography and etc was very well done. If i was to say of anything that could have been improved in this movie is including closed captioning. There are some of us that don't hear as well as we used to. I am looking forward very much of seeing more of Navin's work. I highly recommend you see this film.

Scrooge in the Hood is a different take on the Charles Dickens classic In this adaption. Scrooge is not a money lender like in all of the other adaptations. This one runs a prostitute business and the Jewish Mafia is trying to take over. This film is definitely not for children. There are the ghosts of past present and future, but there is a lot of language and sex jokes in this one. Richard Chandler is director and writer of this film. I got a good laugh out of this one. Great performances by George Raynor, Tina Krause, and Peter Morse. Richard Chandler who wrote and directed this film appears as the Ghost of Christmas Future. One thing is Richard having Tiny Tim as an adult instead of a child. Looking forward to seeing more work by this writer/director.

Great Movie

13/13/13 is a great movie directed and written by James Cullen Bressack and released by Asylum films. This movie was well written, well filmed and acted. The only thing the film could have used is closed captioning for some us older folks...lol. Anyone that has not seen this film, please either go out and buy it or you can rent it at redbox first. That is were we watched from and now i got to get my own copy of this one. I am a big fan of horror films especially ones done by independent directors and screenwriters. James Cullen Bressack has written, directed and produced many films in the past. After you watch this one you might want to check of many of his other films.

Sandtown is a great independent film directed by Robert Monticello and written by Danny Fendley and Robert Monticello. This film is almost like a mixture of Sling Blade and Beautiful Minds with a strange Twist. Danny Fendley plays the role of Robert who recently is released from a State Mental Hospital due to the State stopping paying of his treatment. He constantly see Vernon, an evil person that wants to cause harm for him and for a good portion of the film we think that until he meets a girl he knew from the past that also sees Vernon. Robert feels the only way to get rid of Vernon is to kill him. I will not tell you how the movie ends but you will have to see it for yourself. This is one film that i enjoyed from the start to finish.

This film is a great film from Writer/Producer Mara Lesemann and Director Laura Thies. This film kept my interest from start to finished. It was well written and well filmed almost like it was done by a major studio. I love the story of how Terry found happiness with a new husband even with all the bad things in her life. I am looking forward to seeing more films done by this writer and director. I found out about this movie through another writer/director that referred me to Mara and love having a good friendship with many actors,directors, writers and producers. I strongly feel that films done by independent film companies can be just as good as ones done by major studios. I highly recommend everyone to watch this film. You will love it as much as I do.

Patrick Rea has a hit with this movie. It caught my attention from the beginning to the very end. Patrick Rea directed this film as well as wrote it as well. This movie was not only well written but well filmed as well plus the make up and special effects were well done.
Not only with the Tornado element but the element of what the town has become and the people in it due to storms made this film so interesting. Plus the film being distributed by Lionsgate even gives the film even more credibility. If you have not seen this film yet, go to your local Redbox and rent this movie and you will want to add this to your DVD library.

A great different story about Lincoln

There has been many films done about Abraham Lincoln and most have the same material. This film "Saving Lincoln" brings a new and fresh story about Lincoln and that was about his bodyguard Ward Hill Lamon and showed a different side of Lincoln, a side of Lincoln taking unnecessary risks with his Life. First i want to say this film was very well written and done by director Sal Litvak and Nina Davidovich. Also superb performances by Tom Amandes as Lincoln and Lea Coco as Marshall Lamon. And also great performances by Bruce Davidson and Penelope Ann Miller. This is a film i highly recommend everyone to watch this film and add it to your Lincoln collection. There has been several Lincoln Films and Documentaries done this past year. This one is among the best i have ever seen.

Great movie with Ty Jones as actor and director

Ty Jones did an excellent job both as a director and as an actor. He managed to keep my interest from beginning to finish with me wondering why both the man and wife was being punished. As the movie progressed we were able to find the reason and see the strength of the couple surviving together and healing their loss and how they were able to change the way they were before this incident. I have watched a lot of independent as well as major films that was all slash and gore and no natural haunting and horror. Ty was able to put all of these ingredients into a very well made independent film. New directors and screenwriters can learn a great deal by watching this film.
