Green Wing (2004–2007)

The funnies program ever? If not, its very close.
3 January 2007
I don't want to get into a USA (Scrubs) and UK( Green Wing) war of words but this show does confirm British superiority when it come to inventive and ground breaking television.

OK, so it does rely on the shock factor of some of its gags to get laughs but they are delivered with master precision and timing. It does not matter what mood I am in, I am virtually guaranteed to spend the whole episode with tears rolling down my cheeks with laughter.

These are one of the few things that make me proud to be British. Our film industry may be virtually non existent but we still cannot fail in delivering to the world the cream of television programs.

S.O.A.P does for snakes what Arachnophobia did for spiders :-O
1 November 2006
This movie is on my top list. OK, its cheezy OK, it's predictable in places.... ....but instead of some of the rubbish movies dressed up by the over exaggerated hype this movie delivers exactly what it 'says on the tin'. If you are going to watch this movie after reading some of the unfair (bad) reviews thinking it will be rubbish - you will be in for a pleasant surprise.

Plot - may seem a little far fetched at first, but post 911 you may think twice.

Acting - Little hammy but to be fair, apart from a couple of characters, very good and sound. Exactly how I would react - scream and run!!!

Effects - the snakes were so good, the hair on the back of my neck stood up in sheer terror! Snakes scrapping with each other, dark, moody ...perfect horror set with echoes of Alien comes to mind.

Overall Film - You have a plane full of snakes and passengers 30,000ft up, there is only so much you can do - if you gave this scenario to all the top directors, crew and cast to come out with their own version of this movie, they couldn't get better than this.

What could have been better - A little more black humour would not have gone amiss.

Fantastic Film
1 January 2006
Star Wars for grown ups - a fantastic film in all departments.

The battle sequence was out of this world and having real baddies in a sci-fi without having a speech impediment and plastic buckets on their heads was a breath of fresh air.

The whole film had a credible story to it, the acting was first class and clearly showed the cast really enjoyed making this movie. The sharp, intelligent humour was the cherry on the top of this tasty cake.

Congratulations Joss, this truly lives up to it's Film 2005 winner status. We want a sequel !!!!

PS - Don't forget to add February 27, 2006 into your diary, this is the UK DVD release date - (Amazon UK are taking pre orders)

Sense of humour faliure - this film was hilarious
2 March 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Sorry to all those reviewers who gave this film a bad rating (shame on you), but I thought it was hilarious.

The scene with his mother-in-law's mother (waiting for her taxi) was one of the funniest scenes I have watched for ages. OK, this film was totally disgusting throughout (and strangely without any nude scenes I remember).

The only thing that did let it down was a good story line. The humour was cringe making, but it was supposed to be.

This film delivers what it says - if you hate this film and like Little Britain, you are a b*****y hypocrite!! Bad (very) taste, British pub humour?, watch this, you won't be disappointed.

The shower scene is a must see!!!
8 July 2004
If you like black slapstick humour this is the movie for you. With this being the first full length feature film for most of the actors and crew, the rating I give reflects the result of the efforts put into the project.

I happened to get a screening before general release and was pleasantly surprised by the professional approach that the film was presented. Oscar bound - no, but a great laugh - definitely yes!!!!

Heathcote is a born actor and is far from shy to get it all hang out, in, what must be, the most talked about shower scene since Psycho!!! Great movie on a tight budget full of gags. Movie stars in the making. Great score too :-)

PS: word on the grape vine is that there a DVD version in the pipeline.
