The third sister ruins the entire show
18 September 2022
I love Obi-Wan Kenobi. But Moses Ingram ruins the entire show. For every time she appears in a scene I instantaneously grab my phone or pause the show. I can't stand her acting.

I do love the vibe of the show. And it's pretty darn epic that James Earl Jones is back as the voice of Lord Vader. The writing is pretty poor at times and the directing is a hit and miss kind of thing.

I also miss the vibe of the original soundtrack. I understand the wanted something new. But at least put some familiar tunes of the old star wars in it.

The show is entertaining enough to keep me watching but I can't stand it that the third sister ruins the entire show.

Childish and lackluster
1 September 2022
I watched 48 minutes of this childish movie. Please stop making this kind of movies. It has been milked out for way too long. The magic is gone. Even the special effects can't safe them anymore. The story is so childish and lackluster. It doesn't mesmerize you. The young lady actress is way too neutral. She's there but simultaneously she's nit really there at all. Although I like Benedict he is not able to carry the movie.

This movie is nice for a rainy Sunday afternoon after a night of partying.

Anyway, please wasting so much money on making garbage movies.

4 stars. 1 for Benedict Cumberbatch, 1 star for the CGI and the last star for Dolby vision.

Great start turns lackluster and boring quickly
23 June 2022
The first 2 episodes are promising. Lou Llobelle, Jared Harris and Lee Pave are brilliant. But the other actors are all very very bad. It's like they run out of money and decided to go for c-list actors. Leah Harvey for example, her acting is so bad that I really starting to dislike the show because of her.

Also the dialogue is cringe and lackluster. The aesthetics are okay and the special effects are sufficient. So the right ingredients are there. It's just nog enough.

There is no clear storyline. I'm constantly waiting for a good moment but it never comes. The show is lackluster in its performance. I watch it because I like sci-fi. I hope they turn thing around rigorously in the next season. 3 stars for the three wonderful actors that I started my review with.

Well acted and written but not very realistic..
16 December 2021
The acting is great. That's why I kept on watching. All the actors did a great job. The way the writers and directors try to portray things is just overall too bland.

Horrible things happens to the protagonist but she never reveals much emotions that come along with personal tragedy. This makes it a little bit unbelievable. She never really gets angry. I love drama's but this is a stereotype Hollywood drama. It's not real enough for me. It doesn't reflect real life emotions.

The thing I got a problem with is that one moment she's stable and confident and towards the end she flips to this docile person but still emotionally stable. Her acting doesn't fit like an abused women would be like in real life.

The rest of the characters are believable and are pleasant to watch. I would've love to see more character development from other characters though.

So it's an okay series though I t won't leave you with a long lasting experience.

A good binge-able tv series, but nothing more.
2 December 2021
I enjoyed the acting of Kevin Hart. I personally prefer Kevin playing the more serious and dramatic kind of roles. Wesley Snipes did an alright job.

I binged the entire series in one day. The story is kinda predictable and the editing isn't really that good imo. The storyline stays floating around the surface and the main characters lack serious depth. Dito for the relationship between the main characters.

This all makes it very watchable but it doesn't leave you with an everlasting unique movie experience. I found Kevin Hart very convincing. 6 stars for the overall series, plus 1 star for Kevin Hart making it a solid 7.

The good sociopath killing the bad sociopath
18 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
So this is what society has become? We now live in an era where producers like to make tv shows where they try to normalize sociopathic behavior?

We have this protagonist who is actually the antagonist at the same time. Joe, a creepy sex-driven sociopath who is enslaved by his own need to stalk women. In order to trap those women in his alternate reality he weakens their social safety net by killing their friends and loved ones off.

The problem I have with this show is that all the people who get killed by "Joe the sociopath" are unlikeable characters implicating that it's "okay" to kill them, thus making Joe a "good sociopath". They even go as far as involving a child into these killings and then let "Joe the sociopath" tell the kid that it's alright to sometimes kill bad people. I object to this kind of immoral tv shows because it's damaging to the fabric of social life. Stop normalizing sociopathy!!

I'm giving it 2 stars because of the good acting performance of Elizabeth Lail and Victoria Pedretti. Although I'd wished they'd chosen more wisely in considering in what kind of projects they'd want to participate in. Not this garbage! Smh!

Wonder how it feels when you're brain death? Just watch this movie.
25 September 2021
The acting is soooo bad. Bruce Willis, Jaime King and all the other B-actors acting suck. It's horrible. This movie is a crime. And the producers should be put in jail for it without a trial.

Did they really think this was going to be a solid good movie? Who greenlit this garbage? Lmfao. I never gave a 1 star rating in my life before. This movie sucks!

It's boring If you know the story prior to watching
16 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Somehow all of the characters in this documentary are kinda annoying. Every person has a weird vibe. From the internet sleuths to the detectives. Maybe because it's a real life documentary and this is what normal people look like.

If you already know the story from internet this documentary will not please you. It's very slow. They milk it out over 3 very long and very boring episodes.

The story about this psychopath is haunting. It's very disturbing that this vain person starts killing kittens and then humans. It's sick.

Also this. They should've interviewed the mother and asked how she raised her son into becoming a narcissistic psychopath. If I was his mother I would very much be ashamed of him. She should be held accountable for the murders too. Can't stand that woman and I hope she never sleeps again.

If you never heard of this story and you like slow documentaries this is a good documentary and give it a 6. If you already know the story I give it a 4.

Internet sleuths are weird people imo. Anyhow, they did solve the case and were able to caught the psychopath. R. I. P to Jun Lin and the animals who got murdered.

Ted Lasso (2020–2023)

Season 1 is bomb.. season 2 is not
3 September 2021
I loved the cheesiness of season 1, I never laughed so loud watching a sitcom. At the end of season 1 I wondered if they would choose to milk this out or let the sitcom more evolve.

Season 2 is a big disappointment. Ted Lasso is less prominent and his jokes are getting weaker. Almost predictable. The social cohesion between the characters and the storyline seems to fall apart. Season 2 lacks direction.

The Christmas episode was too cheesy. Especially the end of it. I really disliked it. The problem with Ted Lasso is that the character development is very very slow.. their tricks get old.

Lets hope the writers can turn this around and surprise us with season 3.

Update September 20: my god, it keeps getting worse. After that horrible over-the-top-cheesiness Christmas episode they are now in a verticale line crashing this sitcom straight into the ground. I looks likes Ted Lasso is a one season wonder. The episode about coach Beard is absolutely terrible. It's reminded me of the AirPods Pro, first 4 weeks were like heaven and than they broke down. It seems Apple adopted the same strategy for their sitcoms. Lmfao!

Loki (2021–2023)

Season 1 finale dialogue cringeworthy AF
22 July 2021
The season 1 pilot began interesting.. What is this TVA all about. Unfortunately the writing is really really bad. Loki isn't the Loki we all know so well. The new Loki is a self proclaimed "Narcissist" and is desperately trying to change into a better person. Also his sexual identity is split into two. Enter female Loki. The worst part is that this female Loki is dominating the show. Tom Hiddleston comes off weak.

I found the dialogues in the season finale iso cringeworthy that I wandered off reading the news. The dialogue with the so called timekeeper was unnecessarily long and at times nonsensical.

I think Tom Hiddleston is a great actor. But the way he portrays this Loki is somewhat of a let down. He tries to hard imo. It's too clownesque. I liked the smug, diabolical and cold Loki much more.

What also bothered me about this show is the terrible job they did with the CGI stuff.

On a positive note: I love Owen Wilson. He's just so easy to watch. Great actor.

Loki is Overall a big disappointment and I'm not looking forward to season 2.

Only 4 episodes in.. absolutely love it!
6 June 2021
The acting is great. Brittany O'Grady is not only an very awesome name but also a very good actress and singer. This show really touches your heart. The music is beautiful. Also the close relationship with her brother touches me deeply. If he fails a job interview she is always there standing by his side. Stuff like that reaches me to the core of my very being.

Well done! We need more of this please!

It's a bit slow, nothing much happens.. steady suspension though
4 June 2021
The acting isn't bad. Justin Theroux is great. So are the other actors imo. The child actors are believable.

But it's too slow. It takes 6 episodes to get a tiny bit farther in the story. That's 6 hours of your life what could've beem done in 3 episodes.

The good things: great camerawork. I like the soundtrack a lot. Acting is good and believable. It's pretty easy to watch.

If they compensate the slow pace for season 2 it might get better.

Jennifer Aniston plays Jennifer Aniston
24 May 2021
I finished the entire first season because Jennifer Aniston plays this narcissistic self aggrandizing nutjob who only cares about herself. Some reviews say that this is her best role yet. It's not surprising if you get to play yourself.

It was hard for me to separate Rachel (Friends) from Alex.

It's not a very memorable show. There are however some good things about this show. I love the character Cory Elisson portrayed by Billy Crudup. Great actor! Also liked what Marcia Gay Hard added to the equation. Very convincing acting.

It's an "okay-ish" show. It's not that bad but it's not great either.

Not sure if I'm going to watch season 2.

3 stars. 2 for Billy and Marcia and 1 for some of the great camerawork.

Kill the Queen or recast Sylvia Hoeks
15 May 2021
As a Dutchman I want to apologize to all those who've watched this show and had to experience the worst Dutch actress of all time, Sylvia Hoeks.

The wooden acting of Sylvia Hoeks in the opening scene was so cringeworthy I stopped watching after 20 minutes. It's not only the acting that's bad but it's also her poor way of talking proper English, I can clearly hear her Dutch pronunciation. It's embarrassing.

Jason Momoa is a great actor, I'm curious about his character and how it evolves but I just can't stand Sylvia Hoeks. So I'll never know.

Please recast the Queen or kill her FFS!

3 stars! 1 for Jason Momoa, 1 for Bear McCreary and one for Apple for making this show!

This is why the USA never win a single war
30 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is stupid. Sorry not sorry. What father gets separated from its family during a apocalypse? What kind of mother doesn't put up a real right when her 7 year old son gets taken away from her?

I stopped watching. Too frustrating. I enjoyed these kind of movies when I was 10 years old, because at that age I was too stupid to see the bigger picture.

I'm sorry if this review is too negative for you. It's just a waste of budget money IMHO. It's also an insult to your intellect.

Why do they keep making this garbage movies?

For me this really illustrates American culture. It's just dumb. SMH.

3 stars for the little boy actor, he was great. Gerard Butler didn't deliver. Not a fan of him. Never was and never will be. That's for sure.

Slow. Boring. Unrealistic. Not real sci-fi.
6 September 2020
I love Hillary Swank, great actress. But the whole sci-fi thing is laughable. They can call, FaceTime and video-call whenever they like. Really? No lag at all? Nope. It's all possible. It's also slow. The focus lies on drama. And they even can't get that one right.

The commander makes one mistake and the entire crew falls apart. Lol. Really? A billion dollar mission and NASA sends these clearly mentally unstable people.

2 episodes was enough for me to stop watching this. Give us a battlefield Galactica kind of sci-fi opera. Not this garbage.

1 star for Hillary Swank, second star for Dolby vision and cgi. The third star for falling asleep whilst watching this. You're not going to like this if you're expecting sci-fi.

They should've called it "Everybody has got a gun"
24 May 2020
This movie is not going to stick. There is little character developing which made me stay detached from the story. The fighting scenes are okay. A lot of repetition when it comes to the same fighting sequence. The storyline is shallow and little exciting.

Extraction is a movie where people are constantly shooting at each other. It gets a bit boring throughout the movie. The end is sadly not satisfactory.

Chris Hemsworth was quite believable and he portrayed his character nicely. It was a pleasant surprise to see David Harbour make his appearance as well. Great actor!

6 stars for, but only for Hemsworth and Harbour not for the story.

Cold Pursuit (2019)

A nice but also mindless Tarantino lookalike
23 March 2019
Ok I've read some reviews before going in. So I kinda knew what to expect. I didn't dislike this movie, it was fun to watch. The jokes came of a little bit forced imo, they messed the timing up. It did make the movie watchable though, it made me relax and sit comfortably back in my seat. So that's a good thing.

This movie wasn't really about Liam Neeson, but more about a couple of gangsters who were in a feud and Liam showed up a couple of times to kill some people. So his character presence wasn't that strong and dominant as we've seen in other Neeson's movies.

The bad guy was a bit too comical and also not a very good actor. This guy has the looks but his voice and acting were below average. He reminded me of the Superman / Lois and Clark adventures from the 90s, he would make an excellent villain, so I would like to suggest he'll travel back in time 30 years and try again there. His movie wife - Julia Jones - is smoking hot btw, she had a minor role, but it made this movie more watchable.

I can't the remember the score, so I guess it didn't impress me much.

I don't understand what Julia Dern did in this movie. There was no chemistry between her and Neeson. She barely had 3 lines to speak. And suddenly she was gone, she literally left the script. Wtf!? That's some lazy a#s writing there, lmfao. Oh well, she probably took off to save some dinos. Right? Right!

Anyway, drink a beer or don't drink a beer. Who cares? Neeson will always be Neeson, the guy has a humongous nose btw, but his voice is bigger and that's what makes Neeson Liam, Liam Neeson.

This movie is like any other sh#t-a#s garbage movie from Hollyweird, it's ok-ish, but you'll won't miss out is if you would skip this one.

Stay blessed and in the now! Peace!

A slightly below average comical horror movie!
22 March 2019
I walked into the cinema with an open and neutral mind because I didn't really know what to expect from this movie.

The first 15 minutes weren't the best imho. I found the acting unnatural and quite frankly a little bit cheesy. Then out of the blue the movie becomes a bit comical, my first thought was "man, this movie sucks, this is unrealistically bad acting", then I had a few laughs and that's a good thing! However the movie steered away from the horror part, it wasn't really that scary, maybe it was me but I didn't jumped from my seat once.

The acting wasn't great either, Shahadi Wright Joseph did a great job though! She sure has great potential imo.

It's an unconventional disposable comical horror movie. Nothing more and nothing less! 6 stars because I had a good time watching this.

If you don't take life too seriously then take your loved ones and go see this movie and have a good laugh!

Stay blessed and in the now! Peace!

Don't waste your money on this TRASH movie..!
16 March 2019
I still can't believe it.. wth did I just watch?

This movie fails on so many levels: Nicole Kidman looks like the Exorcist girl/zombie. Her make-up looks overdone, wth were they thinking? Her wig looks unrealistic as well, when you look closely at her wig you'll notice it's too perfect. She only has 2 drinks throughout the entire movie and we're supposed to believe she's an alcoholic? Right..

Her acting is so dull and flat which really made me hate this movie even more. They way she speaks, her voice tonality is very monotone, it's never really changes. I hated it. It's like your watching a really really bad detective movie from the late 80s.

I know there's a lot of garbage coming from Hollywood lately. But this movie is a whole new genre of garbage.

A very slow paced boring/depressing movie.. it's painful to watch and it doesn't add anything of value to your mind. You'll leave the cinema feeling robbed of your precious leisure time as well as an a significant drop in your Intelligence Quotient.

Save your precious money and don't go see this movie in the cinema. Because if you do, afterwards you wished you didn't and you'll hate yourself for it. So I'm just saving you the pain and agony I have to deal with right now. Your welcome!

Escape Room (I) (2019)

Your Typical Hollywood Garbage Movie
3 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The psychological games are well designed. The script is poorly executed. Acting is really really bad. Once they're inside the escape room the movies vibe stays exactly the same throughout the entire movie. No build-up tension. Nothing. So out of boredom I started to analyze the performances of the actors. They acted too dramatic imo and it just didn't seem real enough. For example: they're in this cold environment, but none of the actors were able to portray a realistic performance of a person who's suffering from hyperthermia. For me this was the moment I lost interest.

Let's take 'Alita: Battle Angle' for example, despite being a somewhat shallow sci-fi flick this movie gave me an overall entertaining vibe. Escape Room simply does not! So I left the cinema dissatisfied..

To sum it up: poorly executed script + bad acting = your typical cheap nonsensical Hollywood Garbage Movie.

On a positive note: I loved seeing Deborah Ann Woll, she's a rare on-screen gem imo. She's the only reason I'll rate this movie 4 stars.

Johnny Dep was great as always, his character didn't stood out that much though. The story has an average buildup. I didn't gave me the Harry Potter vibe.

Also a note about the cgi, I think they overdid the cgi stuff. It looked great but it was kind of an overkill. I liked the conservative use of cgi in the Harry Potter movies, this movie was the opposite.

A movie I will probably forget by the end of the year. Next!

I really disliked this movie
1 December 2018
*engish isn't my native language

First I disliked Viola Davis's acting. She came off like a depressed Afro-American woman. I know she lost her husband in the movie and is in a state of mourning, nevertheless I just didnt like her acting. I get the same negative vibe when I watch Sonequa Martin-Green, also an actress whose very hard to watch. This is however a personal experience. She just can't act in my opinion.

There are many plot holes, scenes who don't add up. A very weird kissing scene in the first 30 seconds. I should've walked right out after that. I go to the cinema for at least 3 times a week, so I watch many movies and this movie gave the most unsatisfied feeling of all the movies I've seen this year.

Watch the trailer, if you don't like what you see, don't go and save your precious money :-).

An average "Bubble wrap sound" movie
1 December 2018
*English is not my native language

Pros: attractive and good leadactress, great color grading movie, nice camera work, nice overall spooky vibe.

Cons: bad sound effects (low budget bubble wrap?), little buildup in storyline and character development, plain stupid scenes where Hannah uses her powers and lifts people in order to kill them, predictable and short.

I love this genre, so I'm always excited when a movie like The Possession of Hannah Grace comes to the cinema. The movie is pretty average and sometimes below average. Not sure what happened with the director's creativity!? Nothing really happens in the movie. When somebody gets killed by Hannah you almost can imagine a guy standing in the corner busy popping his bubble wrap. Very bad sound effects. The acting is okay-ish. They should cast the lead-actress in a bigger movie. She's gorgeous and has potential for sure!

Go in with 0.1 expectation and you walk out with an okay-ish kind of feeling! Which isn't that bad if you look at the Hollywood garbage they produce nowadays.
