Ráðherrann (2020)
Danish 'Borgen' vs. Iceland 'The Minister'
If you were a fan of TV series, 'Borgen' - I believe you will enjoy 'The Minister'.
Writing, directing, acting, scenery, photography wonderfully capture the essence of the person vs. the politician as well as provide a travel log of Iceland and insight into local / EU politics.
Step (2017)
Documentary following students, parents and teachers in preparation for a step-dance competition and life lessons!
STEP exceeded my expectations! Variety has called it ""Hoop Dreams" for the social media generation". I was skeptical - another doc on the marginalize. But this is different thanks to the filmmaker – who entertained while documenting a slice of life for this group of students, parents and their teachers. See it!
Ron Taylor: Dr. Baseball (2015)
The story is a fascinating narration of Ron's baseball career and calling to the medical profession and work with the Blue Jays. It is worth viewing.
Last Sunday I was pacing around home waiting for an appropriate time to leave to get to the Rogers Centres for the ALDS Game 3. I took the time to look at the film "Ron Taylor: Dr. Baseball". How I found out about this film was at a Blue Jays flag raising at the "Bird's Nest" at Toronto City Hall. As Jays alumni were at the event, the Taylor family was present. I took the opportunity to say hello to Drew Taylor and tell him I saw the film "Our Man in Tehran" at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2015. Drew and Mathew Taylor created this film. Drew asked if I had seen "Ron Taylor: Dr. Baseball," and mentioned that I could view it online. That is what I did. The film, a 20-minute documentary, is told through archival footage, interviews, and great musical score. The story is a fascinating narration of Ron's baseball career and calling to the medical profession and work with the Blue Jays. It is worth viewing.
