Terrible!
26 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It might look sweet, but unnecessary cruelty is not welcome in my book. They want to show God's Mercy, buy instead show the lowest of morbid cruelty and suffering with no point to it. Disgusting in every way possible.

Bad script
18 June 2020
The story had a lot of potential. However, the pace and the mystery were very poorly developed. Too long, the same plot could have been 1:30 hours long. A few good actors, but the acting was terrible due to the bad writing. A total shame.

Great movie, I loved the thrill and the suspense

Mr Pestalozzi, I gather you expected an exact copy of actual facts in a situation like this one. Guess what... it's a MOVIE. Entertainment. You give opinions about the roles, how well they are played, the story itself (what happens, not if in real life they are so, and the quality of the screenplay. Otherwise, keep reading History and watch documentaries. Not for you, definitely.

An absolutely adorable Bete Davis at her best
7 January 2018
Grandma Esther defies the challenges of old age with dignity and her character is deliciously charming, sensible and intelligent. I always adored her. This grand film should, undoubtedly, have been made for the movies. Well told story, superbly depicts old people when they become a problem to the family. It reminded my own struggle to keep my Grandma with me and my parents insisting on my ruining my future by doing so.

Both men are psychopaths
4 July 2016
Warning: Spoilers
The husband is a liar, has always been. He cheats and does everything necessary to get what he wants, regardless of other people's feelings and needs. That is the main characteristic of a psychopath. Most psychopaths are no killers or even cause any physical damage to others, but they do cause a great deal of harm. He cheated so that he could get a good job, ruined the life of the guy with lies and so on... and lied -or at least concealed- the truth about himself. He was perfectly aware of his own personality, another trait of high functioning psychopaths. On the other hand there is the loser, Gordo, who couldn't get on with his life from Highschool. Whatever the cause, he just couldn't and got stuck in the past, spending 25 years planning and carrying out his revenge. If he was not born a psychopath, we may assume he became one because instead of letting go, he chose to devote all those years and energy to revenge when in fact, he could have chosen to start over. Whatever the reason, it is very interesting to note that revenge between Psychopaths is nowhere similar to any other kind of vengeance. And far more damaging.
