Frenzy (2018)
Ignore the one and two star ratings!
Better then I thought it would be after seeing the IMDB rating. If you ignore the horrible swimming, these actors should have been screened on whether they knew how to do the crawl, if you ignore the fact that experienced scuba divers never say oxygen tanks, and if you can ignore the fact that the sisters leg could have been turnicated with the Rope, it ain't bad.
Although sharks do not Roar, the CGI was pretty good for this low-budget a film. The acting was not bad either. For any of you that have Scuba dived or have dived with sharks, you may get a kick out of this! I gave it seven of 10 to offset the ignoramuses that put one.
Summoning Bloody Mary (2021)
I usually love indie horror films!
Unfortunately, this film appears to have been a high school or college project. I usually rate horror movies especially independent horror movies higher than the average IMDb user. But this movie is troubling, especially because the director does not even list their name. Wise move on his or her part. Some of the acting isn't bad, some of it is over the top. The makeup is terrible! Reminds me of doing face masks with flour paste. Want to see? You can even see the hairline of Bloody Mary above the scare mask. The star who actually doesn't do a bad job acting, is given a pillow to make her look pregnant. Which shows during the yoga scene several times. I do not know how I struggled through this movie. And usually, I can draw I love for the characters and the direction because they have a love for the film. In this case I see neither. Good part is I see that they have a sequel coming out. LOL.
The Hunt (2016)
THIS WAS MADE ON A BUDGET OF 8K!
Okay, honestly... some of it was funny. Keeping a knife in the leg overnight, appearing and disappearing tourniquets... REALLY bad machine gun special effects...Aerial stock shots... A non-decomposing body from 2010?... lol... but these things aside, I loved that those who made this loved it... it is like watching Planet 9 from Outer Space.... is it bad?... yes... but made with love... and on a shoestring budget! I'd like to see what the director could do with 25K... maybe get craft services. And the ending....LOL... I loved it... some here have said they didn't get it... They obviously have never dated a woman.
Órbita 9 (2017)
5.8 stars? 2017 A Space Travesty!
When comparing the worth of any movie to other sites on the internet, I always add a full star to the IMDB grading. Is this because IMDB users are a more discerning lot? NO. It is because IMDB clientele is disproportionately children. Any foreign movie with subtitles or filmed in Black and White suffers at least a full one star slide due to the overwhelming quantity of ignorant millennials on this site. Now to the film: Sci-Fi meets Romance meets Adventure meets Humanity meets the Quality of Life. You will question the nature of human beings and the worth of survival. In addition, you will witness the importance of love, loyalty and life. Although I rated this film 10 stars, I do this to offset the idiotic transgression that a mere 5.8 represents. Orbiter 9 is a solid 7.8 and well worth a look if just for Clara and Alex's chemistry as the leads.
Canadian Bacon (1995)
Michael Moron Should Stick to Documentaries!
Roger and Me was funny because it took a serious topic, the desolation of Flint, Michigan, and gave it a chuckle. Canadian Bacon was supposed to be a Comedy with which director Michael Moron attempted to make a serious political statement... off base, and not funny. I feel bad for all the good people that were spun into the cesspool that is Moron's mind... In the making of this picture, they had no idea that it was an Anti-American Propaganda skit. In addition, this was not John Candy's last movie... it was simply released last. Perhaps this was because Michael Moron was re-cutting to fit his newest political peeve. Too bad he wouldn't address Fat Morons. In the end, see it if you are a fan of John Candy, Rhea Perlman, Kevin J. O'conner and Alan Alda... by all means give it a watch. Wallace Shawn also gives a nice guest appearance as the PM of Canada. Don't blame the actors. BLAME THE MESSENGER!
