The Jane Pauley Show (2004)
Wake Me Up When It's Canceled
Of all the new talk shows that premiered last year, Jane Pauley's is the worst. Her show doesn't bring anything new to the genre and it's extremely boring. Why would she want to leave a job like anchoring 'Dateline' to do a lousy job on a boring talk show? Recently, she admitted that she was bipolar, but I actually think she is just plain crazy for deciding to do this show. If there's ever a time where you find that you can't go to sleep then set your VCR or TiVO to record the Jane Pauley Show. This show can cure insomnia, quiet screaming babies, or help you catch up on some much needed sleep. I'm watching it right now...
Good Day Live (2001)
Gone From Bad To Worse
I used to watch 'Good Day Live' when it first premiered on television, but after watching for about 2 weeks I couldn't watch a whole show anymore. Dorothy Lucey's voice was just too hoarse to listen to, Jillian Barberie's unnecessary questions to guests and dumb comments were too much to listen to, and Steve was the only bright spot of the show whenever he got the chance to get a word in. Now they have Debbie Matenblahblahblah and Arthel Neville. Debbie tries so hard to be funny it isn't funny at all. Arthel Neville comes off as a snobby, know-it-all who couldn't be funny if she tried and I think she has tried on a few occasions. Steve continues to be the only bright spot. Unfortunately, I hope this show is canceled.
Mohr Sports (2002)
ESPN Jumped The Gun
Mohr Sports was actually a funny show, but ESPN never really committed to it. Jay Mohr didn't ask the typical questions instead he just make conversation and told jokes, which made the show watchable. The funniest segment was the Rickey Henderson audio clip: "Hi, this is Ricky Henny." They moved this show into so many time slots they never gave it a chance to gain an audience. When it never got an audience they actually seemed surprised, even though it was of their own doing. ESPN programming exec Mark Shapiro did the same thing to the 'Playmakers.' If I was a network executive I would've picked this show up immediately after ESPN dropped it.
Dance 360 (2004)
Why & How?
Why is this show on television? How did it get on television?
Who got fired for giving the greenlight for this show to even premiere?
Fredro Starr is supposed to be this tough guy, but on the show he's jumping around like an idiot. Kel Mitchell is just lame and how many 90s slang phrases do they try to fit into one show? Most of the dancers run out of moves to last a whole show. They also give away the worst prizes on television, $360 and a Xbox. Wow! Where do I sign up?
Hopefully, someone will come to their senses and cancel this show soon.
Head to head, head to head. Tag your man, tag your man.
