The Love Guru (2008)
Very funny movie!
Well, I really don't get what these other people are talking about. I saw this film just now and laughed my hat of! It's a VERY funny movie! My guess is that those people never really liked any of the other Mike Myers movies. This is a Mike Myers comedy! Make no mistake about that! A very good Mike Myers comedy!
If you like Mike Myers, you really should watch this film. It's one of his funniest ever. Let all these other guys watch The English Patient or whatever it is they're watching. I'll stay with what I like.
I must add that Justin Timberlake is funny as hell! He was great! Vern is also great, as always! I just wish Myers would play more characters, like he did on Austin Powers.
Nature Unleashed: Volcano (2005)
Academy award for best special effects, not!
Well, remember those stupid flicks from the seventies and early eighties? When the special effects fire didn't really look like fire and whenever something looked real it was obvious that it wasn't taken at the same place? IT'S BACK! This movie makes the 80's version of king kong look like the 2000's version of king kong, and I'm not joking! People get hit by flaming rocks and only bounce back a little (seen only from behind) and so on. But then there's the plot. It's even worse! I won't even truly comment on it, I will just warn you, DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME ON EARTH! It's really one of the worst ever, and I LIKE B-movies!
Martians Go Home (1989)
Best comedy ever!
Okay, this one has been one of my favorites for half my life now, which means since I was 16. It should be judged by what it IS and not by what it ISN'T. This is NOT a Sci-Fi movie! This is NOT an invasion from outer space movie, this is simply a funny-as-hell movie with as many stand-up comedians as you can find! C'mon, nobody actually thought that painting up the faces of some stand-up comedians in green and making them tell jokes about the entire world population would make them believable aliens, they just thought, and were right to think, that it would make them funny as hell, without using them as stereotype comedians. A very funny movie, unappreciated by people with different expectations.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: School Hard (1997)
The one that affixed the greatness
From this episode and onward, it's a whole new series This is the episode that defines the greatness of this series. We had clues, like in the first season (Prophecy girl, I think) when we understand the true meaning behind this series, but it took "School hard" to show us the series is really evolving into what is to become by the end of this very second season, one of the best shows ever aired, maybe even the best ever. While the first season was a mid-season filler, and as good as it was, looked like one, the second season opens with a certain declaration of intentions. "When she was bad" takes Buffy's character to new places, showing she is less one dimensional than she was up until now (first season Buffy I mean). While the first season Buffy was mostly just the one dimensional girl-fighting-vampires-an d-wisecracking-at-the-same-time, the Buffy of the last episode of the first season and first episode of second season is a round character. but what about the plot? The introduction of Spike and Drew gives us something to look for. they obviously are much more than your usual evil vampire. More like the upcoming Angelus than the former Master. a truly fun, emotional, totally evil, character. the fact that we find that the principal knows what happens and cover for it, paves the way to the third season. in conclusion, this is the chapter that started the perfection. the season's finale finalized it as the best series ever.
Babylon 5: Comes the Inquisitor (1995)
First in a line of equals
I do not remember a bad episode on this series (first four seasons), not even "Good" ones. This series was excellent from the beginning 'till the end (The REAL end, that is. the end of season 4, not the 5'th which was a prequel for Crusade). This chapter is the best there was. Forth comes Sebastian. Who is Sebastian? What are his relations with the Vorlons? Why does he look like a 19'th century British man? Why was he picked to torment Dellen and Sheridan? Somehow, despite the lack of connection between the "Jack the Ripper" story and the "Babylon 5" story, near the end of the episode you start suspecting the true nature of Sebastian and who he really is. The quote that ends his role (and the episode, I think...) is unforgettable and is my favorite: "Good luck to you in your holy cause, Captain Sheridan. May your choices have better results than mine - remembered not as a messenger. Remembered not as a reformer, not as a prophet, not as a hero, not even as Sebastian. Remembered only... as Jack."
