Another failure
25 June 2023
Not sure why I keep coming to these; outside of the first one these Transformer movies are trash; plot makes little to no sense and it's just a giant explosion fest. At one point you really lose what is going on in some of the battles.

While the maximal are good there are too many ridiculous moments. Most of the humans should be dead by the first act. The motivations are all wrong for the Autobots and there is 0 cohesion with the rest of the movies; This is just another in a long line of bastardize story lines from what was a beloved children's show in the 80s.

The only thing I can say is they did not mess up the maximals like they did the dinobots in a previous movie.

Ok entry into the MCU
16 July 2022
While I went in with high expectations to the movie after the last Thor movie this one fell flat imo. Thor the mightiest Avenger was turned to comic relief beta male.

Now I don't blame the Actors; Helmsworth and Portman have great chemistry, would love to see them paired up in something outside of this genre. Bale is magnificent, I did not even realize it was him until the credits.

I think the issue I had was two fold; one Thor wasn't Thor. Reduced to a Hollywood version of a man which these days is pathetic. Second, and my bigger issue, is they sacrificed story for jokes. Ragnarok hit a great balance between comedy and action. This one really did not have the right mix of ingredients for me .

So the first hour is good... but then it circles the drain

Warning: Spoilers
I think this movie lost its way in the middle. I liked the mental chess bing played between the two main characters however the move gets really silly.

It loses me when Helmsworth makes an appearance for comic relief. Brings you out of the tension of the movie and it just doesn't seem real.

The heroine at the end of the movie really does some ridiculous acts of physical gymnastics to save the day that I'm sorry no one could do and was unnecessary.

The Bubble (2022)

Bubble Burst

So the first 30 minutes are relatable and funny... then about half way through it falls apart.

It feels like the good writers all left or just ran out of material . There is a lot of Hollywood stuff (contracts etc) used as a laugh but only if your in that Bubble.

The relationships could have been a real source of humor but ends up as random dino poop.

A shame

This had a real chance to be a funny commentary on both the idiocy of government and media however it could not help itself . The acting is good but the material just fades and it's a real ugly mess.

It just thinks that continuing to throw stars at it make the material better but it just devolves into a mess.

Should've burned the film

Wow what a waste of acting talent . This is a poorly paced and explained movie with ex machina moments galore.

Really a must see
5 January 2020
I was really surprise and have the last movie did so well. It really didn't surprise me this morning that it was just as great and actually even better in some places. Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson really did a great job and having to switch up their characters in midstream and do all the different types of mining of the older characters.

Movie has fallen
28 August 2019
Seriously dissatisfied with this film. The plot is paper thin, there is no amount of disbelief you can suspend to believe the other agents in this movie are as dumb as it is. The writers should have just hung a sign with words "No Really Mike Butler did this!!" along with the planted evidence. Every other good guy in the film went to the Storm Trooper rifle trading. What a sad terrible ending to what was a fun franchise.

Ok movie

So I think if I grew up with the Beetles I would've appreciated this film more. Also while the main cast dialogue and acting was spot on the supporting cast was way over the top in a trade for a poor joke. Kate McKinnonin was annoying every time she came on screen and would have been better if she just played a more normal person. Also the romantic relationship was just like come on already and shag would you. Not sure it's worth a movie price but a rental sure

Hilarious

Really if you just want to see a fun movie this is it. The only reason why it's not a 10 because it has some slow points but overall great cast and good script

Try and make it to the second half ... it does get better.. Jackman does not sing as much
17 January 2013
So went to see Les Mis tonight... I have to say I was a bit disappointed. First let me say that Barks, Redmayne, and Seyfred saved the show for me. Cosette, Marius and Eponine makes the back half of the movie really good. Hathaway as Fantne was very good as well and man she really sacrificed for the part. However that is where the good parts end... it seemed to me that they could not figure out if they should make it look like a theater stage or Paris in many of the scenes. Crowe does an OK job as Javert but you can see he struggled to show any of the emotion of the character and sing his lines. However at least he can sing .... Jackman holds a note as about as well as a colander holds water. He was really the wrong person for the job; they should have looked for a singer who has done some acting rather then an actor that has clearly never had to sing. The part I was most disappointed with is "Who Am I"; This is a powerful turning point for the character and he just did not have the strength in his voice did not show it ... I might have been ruined since I saw it first in Gainesville from the actual Broadway cast.
