Prey (2022)
Well, at least she's smarter than a beaver.
All kidding aside, Naru spends most of the film doing a lot running with very little hunting, but I guess that's kind of the point. She's captivating, for several different reasons, and you find yourself rooting for her either way.
There was some decent CGI and some not so great (most noticeably the bear) but great cinematography and landscape made up for it. The action was good, but not over the top. The best fight scene was arguably between Predator and her brother.
She finally gets in on the action during the last scene of the film after realizing she's a threat because she's not threatening (haha). The Predator blood war paint was a pretty nice finishing touch however.
I really tried to dislike this film, but there's something about Predator vs. Natives in early 1700's Great Plains that's hard not to like.
7.5/10.
The Last Kingdom: Episode #5.5 (2022)
Amazing series but..
Love this show. One of the best series I've watched in some time. Amazing character development and as the seasons progressed; bigger budget with better action and scenery.
My only major complaint with this season and the time jump, is that characters like Uhtred didn't age a day. Some characters have aged by 10 years and he remains as young as when we met him in the first season.
I believe he would be somewhere in his 60's at this point in the story. I'm not saying they needed to go full throttle with the makeup, but some minor aging would have made a bit of sense.
I am willing to stretch my imagination for other holes; like their ability to basically teleport and be in various parts of the country within a matter of hours or less.
If you can get past little things like that, man is it an epic series.
You: Missing White Woman Syndrome (2021)
When they need to try this hard...
Great series but I don't know how people can ignore the obvious propaganda being pushed here. There was no need to throw vaccine controversy into the storyline. Why does Hollywood have to work in these political stances in everything they do nowadays? This should alarm you regardless of your opinion on the matter.
Heal (2017)
If You Limit Your Mind, You Won't Appreciate This Doc
There's a lot of negative reviews from people discrediting the information provided, or claiming the individuals interviewed are just trying to sell their book or knowledge. If only these people realized that the pharmaceutical industry is driven by profit. Now, I'm not saying Western medicine is wrong. There is a certainly a place for it, and it has certainly saved lives. But these alternative remedies cannot be ignored. Nothing is more powerful than the mind, and this documentary is just trying to explain the miracles our bodies can perform. As someone with a chronic health condition, I have relied on Western medicine at times of crisis. However, living everyday focusing on nutrition and positive mindful practices is what truly allows me to heal. I urge everyone to absorb this with an open mind and an open heart. Much of these practices can be performed at no cost to you, and there are some really amazing people working in the fields of alternative medicine.
Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
People Always Find a Reason to Complain
Not sure how you can rate this movie so low. I have seen every movie in the MCU and this is one of my favourites. People complained about previous Thor films because of his lack of character, now they are complaining that this is not a Thor movie.
Much like Guardians of the Galaxy, this movie infuses comedy, fun action and a great soundtrack. It also happens to be truly visually stimulating the whole way through.
It's a comic book movie that couldn't be more comic book esque but people still find a way to chew it apart. This was a great way to develop Thor's character even more, and I expect more in his next solo film, Love and Thunder.
