Irul (2021)

One time watch

The movie was a weak thriller with a predictable story.

Fahad and Darshana doing the best they could with the material given. Soubin is greatly miscast as the writer Alex.

Overall an average movie that could have done better with a smaller run time (its already just around 1 hr 30 mins but easily could remove 20 mins) and a better director.

Bloodshot (2020)

NOT BAD BUT REALLY ENTERTAINING

Had low expectations going into this one as the reviews I checked were mostly negative.

But I was pleasantly surprised that this was really entertaining and the negative reviews did not make any sense, they probably watched this movie wanting to be disappointed.

Its not a great movie but not a bad one too, a good origin movie of a possible superhero.

Action was good. Characters were good, funny where it needed and not the forced comedy apart from one small scene. An ok story but most importantly the movie and the makers know exactly what they are and what they are trying to make.

3.5 out of 5 stars.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016)

A Time Pass (if you have free time to kill)

I watch this franchise for one reason and that is guilty pleasure. These movies have been entertaining. My fav one of all have been the 3rd one.

Coming to this "final chapter"(ehm ehm), was looking forward to seeing this as I have watched all the movies in this series. This one fits right in. Although I have to say this felt the weakest of them all. And not helping this movie was the quick cuts which made me curse out loud as you cant see a thing that's happening during a fight sequence. Cant believe this is the same original director.

Cast was nothing special apart from Jorah, no supporting stood out and acting felt weak. Milla(love her) is as good as ever but felt she did not want to be here just like Kate in underworld BW(p.s love her too).

Even the last few installments were OK for theater watch were this fell into the "stream it" category.

Assassin's Creed (2016)

A Good movie let down by critics

I rarely write reviews and this is my first one I've written on IMDb. There was a reason why I did not go to see this movie the opening week because the reviews coming in were ranging from mediocre to bad. Apart from this there were other instances were I regretted watching a movie based and reviews as when I watched it myself I enjoyed them thoroughly(Warcraft).

Such is the case with Assassins Creed. Throughout the movie I was waiting for the instance where it would slow down or start to get me bored as was stated by a YouTube reviewer who I watched for this movie and surprisingly enough I was in on the journey till the end. I feel after watching this movie that some of the critics are indeed paid off or are in power to destroy a movie unless the studios give in on their demands or just biased.

This movie was enjoyable for what it was. The cast/acting, Screenplay, Sound etc. and I really liked and appreciate the filmmakers for keeping the language Spanish in the memories/flashback scenes. It was a good choice.

The only complaint I did have was the quick cuts and closeups of the fight and chase scenes.

Movie was overall a good watch.
