Absolute pure popcorn fun
22 April 2024
This is truly the pure definition of an awesome popcorn movie. It doesn't take itself seriously but doesn't go for the cheap humour but instead, plays it on a serious note but with an obvious tong in cheek approche. Their choice of the 4:3 format is perfect since it emulates 70's late night T. V.. The visual effects are effective and well done and the photography really reflect the era without going so low-fi that it becomes unwatchable. The acting is good for the most part but even if some of it is a little lacing, it doesn't ruin the experience at all since the goal here is just to have fun with the concept. Loved it and will definitely watch it again.

A fun watch and nothing more
9 May 2023
This new entry in the Evil Dead franchise can be an entertaining one or a disappointing one depending on the mindset and/or expectations you have walking in. Aside from the relatively urban setting of this one, it doesn't really offer anything new. You will find in it, pretty much the same usual tropes in some variations here and there then what the franchise has gotten us use to, but the movie does not lack energy and is still decently entertaining none the less. I walked in with zero expectations and was entertained even though the movie wasn't breaking any grounds. The photography, acting and visual effects didn't leave to be desired much and there still were a few small original ideas here and there so all in all, it didn't feel like a wast of time but it didn't blow me away eider. Just a good high quality campy horror movie that would've been perfect for a night at the drive inn if these were still a thing.

Oh Lord this is bad
11 February 2023
Like another reviewer said, this movie is horribly bad. The creatures are Dollar Store level cheap. They're basically paper mache elementary-school cheap. The only thing that could've redeemed this one would've been nudity which there is none of. Seriously should skip this one if you're looking for entertainment even very very low level entertainment. This doesn't even have a "so bad its good" quality. Its just bad. Now for some reason, I can't post a review if its not at least 66 characters and there really isn't more to say about this "whatever it is" so now I'm just rambling on until I'v met the quota of required "characters" so I can finally post this thing. What! Still not enough? O.k. Then. Why did the chicken crosse the road? To finish this damn review!

Unwatchable at best
17 July 2022
Can't believe I made it to the end (as a rule, I only allow myself to review a movie if I watched it in its entirety. So you could say I sacrificed myself so you don't have to suffer through it). Everything about it seems to be designed to test your patience. The photography is horrible, the lighting is horrible, the sound editing is horrible (Background music drowning out the dialog at times and extremely uneven levels to the point of barely hearing some characters while others are super loud at other times which is extremely irritating), the acting is almost inexistent and then there's the high-school play level special effects. I couldn't find a single redeeming quality to it. And don't think I'm not one to be able to appreciate a low or even no budget movie cause I can and I have but only when there's something there to appreciate which you won't find here. If you want to see for yourself, please by all means, go nuts! But I would be surprised if you succeed at making it to the end. Oh and the music (and I mean all the music) in this is horribly corny and obnoxious.

Passable movie but nothing more
13 February 2022
Can be somewhat o.k. But really nothing special. It lacks personality and feels extremely generic like so much of what is being done these days. Its a very "run of the mill" movie but still can be an o.k. Watch if you're bored and have nothing else to do but there is by far much better stuff to watch out there.

A less appreciated and yet more mature MCU movie
13 January 2022
And to think I almost didn't watch this because of all the bad reviews which for the life of me, I can't figure out where they come from and why. For once, the MCU universe gives us a film that isn't filled wall to wall with cynicism and sarcasm. Instead it gives us a beautiful story of misplaced loyalty and compassion. And it is absolutely visually stunning. Don't believe the hate. Its completely uncalled for in this case.

The religious freak of horror shows
25 October 2021
Ever wondered what it would be like to go to the movies to watch a horror film but there's a religious freak in the theater that won't shut the hell up about god throughout the whole thing? Well here is seven hours of it. The show preaches excessively. So much so that you are very likely to feel like you've been tricked into going to church under the guise of watching a horror show. Seriously, If you're not into religious malarkey, it will feel like being jack hammered on the head with an oven sized bible. I made it through to the end thanks to skipping trough the way to lengthy "preachy" parts. However, it is well directed and when you can abstract from its obvious religious agenda. The show isn't half bad and yes, some preaching is necessary to the plot but the show really goes the extra mile (or 1000 miles in this case) with it. I can't imagine anyone juste reasonably religious, agnostic, atheist or just not interested in religion's overly simplistic approche to spirituality not being at least slightly, very or severely annoyed by it.

Like a soft core porn sci-fi flick without the soft core porn
31 August 2021
In case you are wondering, which you most likely are, no there is no eroticism or (to the exception of one scene with a pregnant woman talking into a webcam), nudity. Everything is Z grade from acting to visual effects to the type of humour you'll get from it. Its only one hour and sixteen minutes long but it'll feel a hell of a lot longer. If you like Z grade independent films with bad acting, bad visual effects, bad lighting and bad everything, this is the movie you've been waiting for. I'm sure glad I didn't pay to see it.

Its called the seventh art for a reason
22 June 2021
I am utterly tired of the hordes of mindless drones constantly spewing the same hermetic cliched phrase over and over and over again... Its too artsy, its too artsy, its too artsy. Well guess what buddy? Its called the seventh art! Calling it too artsy is like calling an orange to orangy. You want brainless entertainment that doesn't challenge the mind in any way? Go to Six Flags and ride a roller-coaster pudding brain! Try opening your mind up to different and/or new things a little. You might actually learn to enjoy it without having to watch billions of dollars being thrown at a screen just to see the same recipes recycled over and over again. So this movie is metaphorical. If that bothers you, just turn around and go away. There's no point in trying to denigrate something just because it isn't within your grasp. As for the movie, did I like it? Not that much but it did make me think and reflect which I always appreciate from a movie and I admire those who dare to trie something different and more personal regardless of all the cowardly trolls hiding behind their smartphones and computers this new era rains down on everyone. The movie was spectacularly photographed and yes, it was weird. And if weird was bad. Then everyone would be in big trouble because guess what else? Unless you aren't human, YOU ARE WEIRD! So I'm giving this a 10 to counter all the undeserving negative reviews from the basements wannabe critics which, even dough I also am. I am at least decent enough to be aware of it and trie to have some humility when judging other people's art. But I'm not above judging those who judges. And I like art which is why I like that there are movies like this and I wish to encourage that.

Not horror but good for what it is
13 June 2021
Lets start by stating that this is not a horror movie. Its much more of a drama on the subject of rape whit thriller elements to it. I must say that for a t.v. Movie, it doesn't take the subject to lightly. Sure, some of the writing isn't a thought provoking and serious as it should be given the subject matter but the core of the story and its unraveling i very close to reality and most of what doesn't resonate truth today sure seem appropriate for the time when this was made. Overall, I went into this thinking I was gonna watch a horror movie and even dough I quickly realize this was not gonna be the case, I was already to invested in it to quit and I see that as a sing of good writing and directing. I liked it a lot.

80's Cheese
12 June 2021
This is a typical 80's cheese horror slasher. Bad acting (but really unintentionally funny at times), unbearably horrible 80's custom made pop type music, some nudity (but really a bare minimum in this case) but unfortunately in this case, no gore and this one would've vastly benefited from it. Over-all, its not good but it did manage to get a few laughs out of me (the main character in the last third of the movie gives a performance that would make anyone laugh even dough that wasn't the intention). So if you're looking for legit horror, you should give this one a pass but if you're in the mood for an unintentionally funny cheesy typical 80's B horror. This could do it.

Weirde and that's good
26 May 2021
That was a weird movie and I must say, I've never seen that before. I did not expect it. Its not a masterpiece by any means but it sure gets points for originality. Not all of the character's choices of actions made complete sense but its more than forgivable all things considered. I liked it and do recommend.

Speaking for and to the sane end of the spectrum.
25 May 2021
Anything that serves the purpose of shedding light on the insanity epidemic of conspiracy theorist deserves visibility, respect and support and especially when done with the satirical blend of humour that only Sacha Baron Cohen know how to deliver. If you are of the sane portion of the world population who is sick of putting up with the mental pollution that the conspiracy theorist keeps trying to force upon us and need some release or if you are part of the problem and need some educating, this is definitely for you.

The director should get a Darwin award
15 March 2021
A lot of movies are intentionally dumb for comedic purposes like Troma movies for example, but when a movie that's trying to be legitimately "horror" manages to be dumber than the dumbest of the intentionally dumb, you know you got something special here. It did manage to get some unintentional laughs out of me but the overall result is ultimately extremely boring. Thank god there was some eye candy in the form of some easy on the eye women taking their clothes off for good measure but its still quite the sleeping pill to swallow

In the "Slasher horror cliche" department, not a stone was left unturned albeit without the gore. Its all very mild and you don't see any graphic violence on camera.

I would never recommend something like this other than if you're actually looking for a very very bad boring film to put you to sleep because nothing else worked.

Not good and its not due to its low budget
5 December 2020
This movie was very badly acted and badly directed, period! Actors looking at the camera (more than once for that matter), very mediocre acting in general. Doesn't feel even remotely genuine. The whole thing just feel like a lame excuse to show sex and nudity and some very questionable content with an underage actress. Sure, the movie tackles real life subjects and situation but so clumsily that it defeats its purpose completely. Overall, its not deserving of a watch other than for all the wrong reasons in which case, I would simply suggest that you look at some cheesy soft-core B movie that at least doesn't try to pretend to be socially conscious and serious.

Oh boy... One of those the world is fine without
4 February 2020
I've said it before and I'll say it again, there's way to many people making movies just for the sake of making movies and nothing more. Hollywood spawns a lot of big budget movies with impressive special effects that if you scratch the surface even just a bit, You immediately see that it completely lacks personality or artistic value. Well, this is one of those but without the impressive special effects which without, has absolutely nothing to offer.

I quite liked it
4 February 2020
Mind you, this is not a great movie nor is it anything we haven't seen before but they sure did a good job at keeping it interesting. Even dough the movie does not advertise itself as a horror comedy, it boasts a great deal of dark humor but never at the expense of the unsettling dynamic and atmosphere. The acting is not award winning level but fair. The movie score is effective. Overall, there is no boredom here and the film does not suffer from its obvious low budget. Its a good little movie to watch when you're in the mood for something dark and you just don't know what to put on.

Bad. Just bad
4 February 2020
There's just seem to be a lot of people out there who are just making movies just for the sake of making movies with no other purpose. The movie is void of explanations to the situations we are presented with. The acting varies from passable to worst. The sound editing is absolutely horrible. The cinematography is o.k. At best. Not much is happening overall and the all thing feels very very long and is more of an exercise in patience than an entertaining experience and at almost two hours running time, you better brace yourself if you are determined to go through with it. Oh... And the musical score is as generic as they come.

An exercise in stupidity
19 November 2019
It has the feel of old inept t.v. Shows with uni-dimensional characters void of any realistic behavior. Like watching a bunch of young adults acting like high-school kids but without the actual acting. Very superficially cliched and stereotypical in all of its aspects. The script is to awful to afford the actors any chance to show they're potential but for the most of them, its still quite obvious that there isn't any to begin with. It might at best have comical value if watched for its ridicule in the right settings. The cinematography isn't that bad though.

Unintentional Horror Comedy
24 October 2019
If you like incredibly dumb gore movies that exaggerates and doesn't give a damn about reality and who's soul purpose is sensationalism and shock value, you will definitely find this oddity entertaining. You can make a drinking game out of it. The low rating is simply because the movie, as ridiculous and stupid as it is, actually takes itself seriously and really thinks it's meaningful which I assure you it is not. Its the most ludicrous propaganda I've ever seen but man did I laugh. It almost reminds me of anti pot propaganda crap spawned in the sixties but with decent acting and photography but the script is really unrealistic and not credible by a long shot. It is pampered with lies from anti-abortion mentally unstable conspiracy theorists minds. Wouldn't be surprised if it takes place in a universe where the Earth is flat. Unintentionally hilarious for sure.

Not helping our suspension of disbelief.
18 September 2018
The biggest problem with this movie isn't the bad acting nor its small budget. Its the complete lack of realism in the characters behavior. Even if the movie could use its concept as an excuse for the lack of realism, you can't surrender to it. The complete lack of consistency in the characters choices of actions and dialogs makes it impossible. Did I mention the acting? Its really not helping. Its not horrible but it isn't good eider and you simply can't believe in the characters. They come off as very one dimensional. I don't know about you but unless its the kind of movie that doesn't take itself seriously (which isn't the case here), I can't dumb myself down enough to allow myself to believe in a film that lacks so much in character depth, realism and consistency. Another film's big problem is its predictability. The concept is one we've seen so many times before and despite its very small personal twist, isn't used in a way that you can't see where the movie's going almost from the start. Its not unwatchable but it took some effort to pull through.

I once saw a pigeon walking around on the sidewalk with a twig in its beak. I thought it was kind of funny but nothing spectacular. Now that I've seen this film, the pigeon looks like the freaking messiah reborn in comparison.

Kind of dumb.
10 February 2018
This is unfortunately a collection of movie cliches. Its not the fault of the actors who I think, given the benefit of the doubt, are doing their best with a bad script. The direction however isn't bad and so are the special effects but the overall result is very lacking in the deserving aspect especially in comparison to its predecessor. I could go deeper but I don't feel its really worth it. Its not bad, its not good. If you have nothing else to do and don't mind watching a very dispensable movie, their sure is worst out there.
