House M.D.: Pilot (2004)
First ever pilot 10
I have been watching TV for over 50 years, and when starting a new series, as a viewer it is sensible to allow the writers and actors some time to get into the swing if it. But this episode is outstanding. Acting excellent, storyline epic, cinematography amazing and passion in abundance. Well done to all involved. Only problem moving forward is they have set a high bar. Can they deliver the same.
Being British I have grown up with Hugh Laurie, so I am confident of his abilities, from the beloved Blackadder characters series 3 and 4 to Jeeves and Wooster with National Treasure Stephen Fry.
Can't wait to watch more.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Ridiculous
After really enjoying the first movie I was looking forward to watching this one. Unfortunately, I cannot find a good thing to say about it. From the absurd storyline to the acting which was wooden from actors who have excelled in other movies mainly because the dialogue was so shallow and atrocious.
I wish after successful movies studios would not rush out a second movie to capitalise on this. But this movie just feels rushed from start to finish. I hope that DC learns from this mistake and that if they make a third wonder woman give it the respect it deserves and takes their time.
If you are a Wonder Woman fan, then please avoid this movie and watch the Green Lantern movie again, you will be less disappointed than this one and I think that says it all.
Red Dwarf: The Promised Land (2020)
Unpack Rachel and get out the puncture repair kit.
Red Dwarf back to its best. Great couple of epoisodes, with great gags, including a return to form for Holly which was hilarious. So much going on that time flew and when watching for a third and fourth time, getting gags that I missed on first watch through, due to laughing too much.
These episodes will stand the test of time as two of the best and hopefully lead to more of the same. As this one completed a story arc whicxh started 32 years ago, and there are many more which could be done. Personally I would love to see a story arc completed around the pollymorphs. They did one in the Red Dwarf comics over 20 years ago where the second polymorph (remember the end of the first polymorph contents two ) became the ship and it was very funny.
Thumbs up to Doug Naylor and his team and of course the boys from the dwarf.
More please.
