Olbbaemi (2022)
A Chilling Cinema Albeit An End to Rewrite.
It's an amazing Korean cinema as always. Had to wait a long time to watch it as it's been out for long. The lead actor is amazing as he always is and the veteran actor playing the King is always a screen presence. (No need to write out names since this site is mostly western users).
The story and the cinematography stands out, the acting and period piece settings makes a statement as should, but I won't deny this wasn't the way a movie like this should end. It felt like the twist and turns that made it work for 70% of the movie became so exciting for the writers they decided to push it further unnecessarily. A few major character arcs were left out very dully (kings wife, Prince wife, Prince son, etc). The other twist with a major actor seemed probable but somewhat unsavory, and didn't even have a final pay off. And in the end, a few things felt like, "let's just end it this way."
Maybe if the plot with the world becoming modern was explored a little bit, some things could have been more relatable, but it wasn't. Even the King's back story could have helped if there was a better explanation or flash back. (A part of me feels this was intended to be a 6 part mini series but budget wasn't there).
Regardless, for what it intended to be and was for a major part, it was amazing. Wish it ended better.
Star Wars: Visions (2021)
Season 2 is for Feminists
The whole plot of season 2 is how every character that is strong is a woman. Basically all protagonists in this are. The men that show up and have a voice are killed off or pushed to the side for the females quest to continue. A very strong emphasis on female Jedis. Every single Jedi is female, the one that wasn't was almost done for and saved by female.
Are there strong women, sure, a blatant shove in the face female protagonists doesn't help push that natural narrative forward. Quite comical.
A man with a voice of reason is made to look the fool in the end, while stubborn, annoying, selfish girls are made to be right in the end.
Pity.
In time, it'll all be way too obvious a female empowerment narrative push that the world would literally roll eyes all at once.
Women are great naturally already, stop making them look unnatural and tiring.

GUT WRENCHING TOPIC
This korean movie is a very hard watch. Quite the definition of subtle human ugliness if you were looking for one. Even the innocent is guilty, like guilty for real. A story about a boys suicide due to the effects of bullying, the perpetrators, the extent parents go to protect their kids, backstabbing, perjury, and a total lack of accountability. The road to truth is short and precise, and nothing supercedes it.
The acting is phenomenal, the story is difficult but true, the directing is great, and it doesn't end for you to be satisfied. It does weave in twists and surprises, to an awe effect, but it does leave a bad taste in the end.
Gut wrenching as it may be, one of the best films I've seen all year.

NAH, THAT WAS A 10
The more the movie went on, the more agape I was, the more I clapped. Espionage is as old as war, and there's been movies galore, but damn talk of spin. The two koreas have had uncountable movies done about them to the point its meant to be stale, so it's really remarkable watching this and feeling like you've never seen such a story before. This was amazing. Lee Jun Jae directing this has a great one on his hands. Absolutely remarkable piece of cinema. The acting from the leads, the share amount of star power pulled in, the story, cinematography and directing is top notch. Truly impressed. Salute.
Bullet Train (2022)
Mansplaining and Narcissistic B*****
I just love when Brad Pitt said those. The social commentary on point.
Bullet Train is an absolute chaotic fun. The cast in this movie is beyond me. I mean it even has Hiroyuki Sanada! Stellar action, all characters are absolutely not the same, which is hard to pull off in a story about assassins. The direction isn't as linear, but the backstories, intermissions all come together absolutely well. Brad Pitt stands out yes, because he is one strange actor based on the roles he takes, and his role here is exactly that, but I have to give it to Aaron Taylor and Brian Tyree. Their banter and characters were amazing. Almost a convoluted plot due to different characters, somewhat like how Smokin Aces was, but it was fun, funny, over the top and stylistically good.
Harley Quinn (2019)
DownHill soon as it went Alphabet
Season 1 was immaculate. Fun ride.
Season 2 started great where 1 left off, and went down soon as orientations started to come in play
Season 3 is an ode to A-Z and basically nothing more. All major guys are dumb, dumb, Girl power the bomb, and more A-Z.
The general social commentary and current event or celebrity quips are still very funny though.
The people you think you made this for don't watch these however.
Nagwonui bam (2020)
Perfect in its Own Way
Amazing, not a fan of the "S" end to our gift of soul, but I understand.
This isn't your typical win stuff. This is real possibility stuff.
I remebered my mum at a point.
Don't hesitate to watch.
Chris Rock: Tamborine (2018)
Seen it 11 Times
...just to understand the low reviews. I still dont get it!! Was superb to say the least. Rewatch it everytime I need a laugh.
I think there's an agenda here against the man. Now that it's 2022, after the slap, I wont be surprised the same bad reviewers would give him a good review on his next outing. You know, since we live in "an internet next thing swayed opinion world".
No one has a mind of their own that's sincere anymore.
Once again, A Very Great StandUp Show!!
Norm Macdonald: Nothing Special (2022)
MY FATHER WAS PROGRESSIVE, WE HAD GENDER NEUTRAL BATHROOM AT HOME, CAUSE EVERYONE USED IT!!
10 Mins into this special, and I was already thinking, this is way too brilliant for my liking.
Not much a fan, as I've ever seen only 1 set of his, but I used this as a Sunday evening casual watch.
Rest on Sir, you blessed us with a great one.
No punches pulled. Raw and clean, homely too.
Great work.
Super Crooks (2021)
Pretty Dark, Not for Kids, Superb
Been waiting for it. Not disappointed. Keep it coming. This one isn't holding back. Cheesy old me happy it ain't for kids.
Pretty surprised they were able to somewhat expand on the comic (comic was a one story arc), but yea, with Mark Millar still helming, I guess that isn't much a surprise.
By the way, The Preatorian is awesome. But Hello Ms. Kasey. You're the MVP.
Rick and Morty: Gotron Jerrysis Rickvangelion (2021)
HERE GOES THE CRY BABIES
I think the low raters are just trend following. The hate is just a bandwagon.
Amazing nostalgic episode. Oh, and they did make fun of millenials and culture appropriation cry babies. Go figure.
Jumper (2008)
Writing this review because someone said the lead was HEDONISTIC!!
You need to open your eyes to the reality that if some people had powers, they'll only use it for themselves. And that even exist literally. And that's no crime. It's called Reality. It's called Choice. It only becomes a problem if you hurt others. If you had powers that made so much easy for you, you would definitely not go all the way just to stress yourself.
This was a different take on a superhero genre.
The film was fun back then, and is still fun now anytime I watch it.
Can't wait for it to be remade.
I've always also thought, if I ever had powers, and I could choose, it would to be a Jumper.

What An Amazing Art to Stumble Upon
Have your ever watched anything wherein you like both the good and bad people (That's if you're even sure who's good or bad in this one)? Ever rooted for both the good and bad? Ever been so fascinated by all characters, main and side?
After 5 episodes I was like, Damn, this writer really had a weird dream, because this had to be a dream, not a day dream, a dream dream. And when the writer woke up, as much as he couldn't remember everything, he still wrote and pieced together what he remembered, and this happened.
This is weird, different, amazing, confusing, all emotions involved.
This would age very very well for anime lovers.
Watch it without being expectant. Just watch.
