Mothering Sunday (I) (2021)

Fine, well-made film.

Once you give yourself to the delicate, careful, slow- moving unfolding of this film, it has much to offer. It's ridiculous to toss it off saying it's not Downton Abby or The Crown. The writer and director are telling a particular story that is one of a kind and powerful, and no actor in it can be faulted. It's both beautiful to look at and very well (and delicately) told.

Many Lives in One
11 February 2019
This is a journey of a boy and then a man who pushed ahead against the odds, a true adventurer, yet as human as the rest of us. Old footage of his stuntman life, his journey through romances and the bonding with the very famous of his day told through re-enactment, and interviews with experts and with those who knew the man round out this film - a full meal.
