For an Indonesian film, the genre and theme are quite unusual. The film's story is relatively simple: a sister who believes her brother is still alive after he and his group went missing on a mountain. For this reason, he asks for help from his old friend who was once lost on the same mountain. Throughout the film, we are presented with supernatural events, typical of Indonesia, so that this film is not just a survival genre, thriller, but also horror involving a mysterious force beyond human power. Something that mountain climbers should be aware of. Unfortunately, the underlying theme of redemption is not really showcased well.

I really wish the story or the plot could be better.
Beautiful animation. It has interesting premise, a mix between Around the World in Eighty Days and Indiana Jones. It has also a good start with promising characters. But somehow they lack of depth and didn't match to the way they behave later in the movie.
If the main character's (Lionel Frost) motivation to start a journey was to join a society then he should stick that way, at least until the first half. He may not going to help Mr. Link to get to the Himalayas. He will try to bring a life proof to the civilization to gain fame, while the villains will try to stop him as well as try to snatch Mr. Link for themselves. That way Lionel will realize that this society is not as good as he think he was and redeem himself by helping Mr. Link and makes him a likeable character. But that didn't happen. Lionel seems too good, he's willing to help Mr. Link in exchange of some furs and feces, which is weird because it was clearly shown at the opening that he doesn't seem to care much to his assistant.

CSI Inspired Series with Local Taste

This is the first streaming series by Indonesian media-services provider. What they did was rather unusual for Indonesian drama. Bringing crime theme with serious atmosphere, good music, good acting, are such a brave move.
The downsides are that they probably a little bit too serious. lack of humor and fun. The writers are trying too hard to complicate the story by adding many unnecessary subplots and fighting to almost every characters which It cause the plot became too convoluted.
Also, what really bothers me most are the camera angles. They could have really been better. I mean this was supposed to be crime drama not soap opera on television. Most of the camera angles are taken from static medium or long shots while could have really add the suspense and create tension if they took it by close/extreme close up or over the shoulder shot.
In conclusion, it's not perfect series but I really appreciate the effort. I'm looking forward to season 2.

Feel Empty Inside

This movie is trying so hard to be great and funny. Most of the jokes are cringe worthy. The plot is paper thin. Too many characters that basically non existence due to the poor writing. You could have replaced one character to another. Who is that? Who is this? You won't care when one of the character dies (this is not spoiler because you won't care anyway). The actions are dull and the philosophy of number 2-1-2 felt too empty. The only good thing is the location. But it's not enough to redeem this movie. I'm so disappointed.

This movie is a Pengabdi Setan (Satan's Slave) wannabe. You can clearly see how it tried so hard mimicking the success of Satan's Slave. The plot doen't make any sense. It is jump back between the past and the present via (somehow) time traveling or memory(?). The main character suffered too many blackouts without any explanation what is wrong with her. The director decided to add "thing" that has been his passion from all his movies: blood through cheap unnecessary gory scenes.

First, I didn't read the book. I believe that a movie should be treated differently from the book.
So, I finally watched this movie based on good review out there and the ads that said there are more than 1 million audiences in just few weeks or sort of . And I was disappointed.
The acting was so wooden. The protagonist voice was so annoying. The woman protagonist's character was confusing. I know they're in love just because the script say so. Even Reza Rahadian can't do his best. The dialogue was really cheesy.
I don't know what was wrong. the director or the script? The fact is that there were 4 writers in this mess.
Also, this movie needs a lot more props more than just bunch of old cars to convince me that this happened in early 1930's. The sets, they look so modern. And by 'modern,' I mean they look like many things that you can find today. Not to mention the misplaced soundtracks by pop band Nidji. Their modern songs with modern instruments just don't fit in this movie.
Later I just find out that 41% of people here gave this nonsensical-so- called-movie 10. To me? 3 is far too generous.
