Inventing Anna (2022)
Great story, bad main acting.
The miniseries has a truly captivating story at its core, providing a promising foundation for an exceptional viewing experience. However, a significant drawback is the performance of the actor portraying the main character, Vivian Kent. Unfortunately, their portrayal is marred by over-the-top and exaggerated facial expressions, which hinder the audience's ability to connect with the character. Furthermore, the attempts at comedy within the series fall flat, lacking the humor that could have enriched the narrative.
Despite this, it's worth noting that a substantial portion of the remaining cast delivers commendable performances, bringing depth and authenticity to their characters. This ensemble of talented actors contributes to the professional production quality of the miniseries. The visuals and imagery are, without a doubt, one of its strong suits, with stunning cinematography and art direction that enhance the overall aesthetic.
However, the issues with the main character's portrayal and the lackluster humor may be attributed to shortcomings in the writing, combined with subpar acting. As a result, the series fails to fully realize its potential and falls short of being a must-watch production. For those interested in the story's premise, it may be advisable to exercise patience and await another adaptation by different creators or explore alternative mediums like podcasts that might do justice to the narrative.
In conclusion, it's difficult to wholeheartedly recommend this miniseries due to the prominent flaws in the main character's performance and the comedic elements. While the production quality and imagery are undeniably praiseworthy, they aren't sufficient to compensate for the shortcomings in writing and acting. For a more fulfilling experience, it would be wise to consider alternative options or wait for a potentially improved adaptation.
The Phenomenon (2020)
No evidence of anything
It's very one sided. It's the usual. All the storys, all the ideas, and all the people who believe and think that someone is hiding something from them. This movie did a lot of work to try to show us something, but ended up showing us nothing.
Not a single evidence of anything, and why not? Why would they not as themselves this question in the movie. And give some multiple answers to that question?
Feels like just another movie, trying to prove something with nothing, and in my opinion ending up just cluttering the image even more.
Will not recommend, wouldn't even call it a documentary, rather fiction.
Don't Look Up (2021)
So bad I kinda want all life on earth to end.
First 8 min is good. Rest is bad and this movie keeps getting worse and worse. Not funny. Bad writing. In no way realistic. Weird characters, stupid story. Don't watch, if you like movies.
Sputnik (2020)
Nice Alternative Sci-fi
Western quality russian modern sci-fi. Not the most thrilling story, but yet an honest movie without ridicules hollywood screen humor. Nice soundtrack, and great acting. I recommend this to all sci-if enthusiasts.
Gemini Man (2019)
Bad CGI gimmick
If you try to make a movie out of your gimmick CGI, use it ONLY when it applies well and feel real. This movie feels like a gimmick. Face of young smith looks okay, but movement in fight scenes is way exaggerated and looks unreal. Story is bad as well.
Alita: Battle Angel (2019)
Indifferent movie, idiotic universe.
Cyborgs build with big muscles, when it clearly does not matter. Story makes no sense, acting is bad. Feels like a film for kids, but a bad one at it. I do not get how this movie has a ration above 6.
Strings (2004)
Highly original
This movie, is one of those, you must NOT miss, if you appreciate wonderful pictures and a beautiful atmosphere. The scenes and environment was what hooked me. One glance at the backgrounds and the detail level is enough to make you beg for more. The story is okay, it is not fantastic, but I think it's well told. The concept of this movie is fully thought through bit for bit, it is revealing the ground rules for a world, where everyone is bound by strings, like a little world inside a box, but still it's a whole new gigantic world like on another planet. The sound and sound score is perfect, it gives this film, the last bit of atmosphere. It has already become one of my favourites, and there is no film like this one out there.
Rocket Brothers (2003)
An excellent band, an excellent movie
I really love this band, and I also liked this movie. It is a peek into the world of the great Danish band "KASHMIR".
The band, and mainly the lead singer Kasper Eistrup, is trying to match the great expectations for the next KASHMIR album, because their last album, where a great success.
We share the thrilling inside fights, the joys, and most of all the experience of seeing how the birth of their new album "ZITILITES".
If you like music, and would like to see the way artists reacts when their confidence goes numb and the struggle to get back up.
I recommend this movie (7/10)
