Simple, yet beautiful.
16 June 2014
This is one of the movies I wouldn't like to rate. But I would recommend each and everyone of you to watch it. I'm sucker for Palme D'or winners and how could I miss this one? I'm pretty sure the concept of losing out a family member have been explored by many directors, but there is something unique about this one. Directing himself in the movie (I really think it's a very difficult job to do that), Nanni Moretti hasn't put a foot wrong. And, if you're looking for a very good screenplay and some breathtaking cinematography, this is not your thing. This movie is all about actors pouring out their emotions on screen and a really sweet background score. What got me raving about the movie is how we blame every single action of ours when things don't go our way (I think majority of us to do that). La Stanza Del Figlio is simplicity personified. I'd say a must watch.

Betas: Pilot (2013)
Season 1, Episode 1
8/10
A must for every tech geek
23 November 2013
I happened to see the preview of Betas when I was just browsing through IMDb. Being an engineer myself, when I read the summary, the next thing I did was put it on download. Considering it had just got 6.0 rating on IMDb after screening of the pilot, I still had my hopes high considering the content of the show. And boy, it did live up to my expectations. Michael Lehmann (True Blood, Dexter) directed and produced the pilot. The cinematography is good and Lehmann has done a really good job. All Moby fans out there, he has a special appearance as well. I'm sure y'all will watch the pilot and ask for more, that's what this show guarantees.

Barfi! (2012)
8/10
An unconventional Bollywood film!!
14 September 2012
Anurag Basu - I'd say a underdog. Well I don't know how many of you'll liked kites but i really loved it and barfi was something new. I'd like to start of with Ranbir Kapoor. I'd say the best among the young lot, this guy manages to do something extra-ordinary in his every movie. A difficult role to pull off, he has managed it with ease. Effortless expressions, top notch acting. Illeana D'Cruz - Debut film and a pretty confident start. Looks pretty on the big screen. And then finally Priyanka Chopra - Whoaa!! what a performance simply fabulous. The best among the lot. One of her best performance till date. Coming to the technical part, with Mr. Basu taking part of story, screenplay and direction it has been done to perfection. Darjeeling has been captured beautifully. And even though the music has similarities to Amelie(2001) it has been pretty good. Music has a very important role in this movie since its more of a silent movie and Pritam has done a decent job. If you're into out of box stuff, go for Barfi ASAP.
