As difficult as the challenge is to 'tell' a lot in a sort time in short movies, Ernst van de Beek certainly succeeds. Utilizing the various disciplines of 'film' as the 'eight armed and legged' cocktail of possibilities it is, you can see the talent in the different handlings. Camera positions and usage, positioning of both camera and characters, the editing/cutting of the images, the lighting/shading, the following of the scenes, usages of historical old school film versus today's, the coloring, the tension of standing/lying still, of looking at persons or things, the symbolism of behavior and the thought of a scene of the past at the same time.... it is all in there. Great job, expectation is fed and became hungry.
