I did not expect a horror movie. Maybe it's okay as a horror movie. I think just as a film it maybe depicts mental illness. If so, it is irresponsible and bad. It's probably the worst film I ever watched till the end.

Structural sexism blinds people looking for a pattern

I had no high expectations from this docu-series but it proved to be a far more valuable and interesting story than I thought. I do not want to go into spoiler details, so I just want to highlight the values of the series.
The Yorkshire Ripper case has been probably one of the largest crime investigations ever in history, with a staggering amount of paperwork, working hour input and routine policing put against a serial killer in the late 1970s.
Forty years later, investigators, survivors, eyewitnesses reflect on this procedure with a very critical mindset. It is no spoiler to state that the investigation drew so much futile energy because the police leadership was blind to sexism and patriarchy. Having sad this, do not expect all so obvious forms of sexism, like rebuked policewomen and disrespect for eyewitnesses, but a far more comprehensive, structural form of patriarchal thinking that disallowed the participants of this gigantic case to actually see a pattern. Patterns are of course very important in serial crimes, and this makes the entire story more fascinating than a lot of over-dramatized fiction series about serial killers.

Another good-looking Belgian crime series

I really love Flemish-Belgian TV and films, as well as music from the region. Often world class with a unique flavor, connecting Anglo-American pop culture with French.
Coppers has world class cinematography, music, and mainly excellent acting, and overall is just between excellent and very good. I found some dramatic solutions in the script, especially the cliffhanger, and some acting a bit too TV-like and cheap, but overall I think this is a very good series with a very nice look and sound.
Hilde De Baerdemaeker is great as the main protagonist.I really like that she can be super good looking, attractive, but tired and ugly as well. Luk Wyns and Bert Verbeke could have gotten a bit more polished characters. Some of the episode characters are played by the best Belgian actors.

Highest budget Hungarian movie ever

Kincsem an expensive film by European standards and it does not look cheap.
If you are a great movie fan and look for a great Hungarian movies, this may disappoint you, because "Son of Saul","White God", "On Body and Soul" won recently very high critical acclaim with a much lower budget, not to mention classics like "Time Stands Still". But "Kincsem" is not an art-house movie, it is suitable to any 16+ general audience.
If you are looking for a romantic thriller with a racing horse, this film is good, probably worth a 6-7 star rating. If you want to watch something Hungary-related that is also entertaining, this is probably your best choice, and worth a 8-9 star rating.
The racing scenes are great, the film is a bit unusually but well acted. The soundtrack is probably the weakest point, which alternating between original and bad (Hungarian) cliché.

De Ridder
(2013–2016)
Superbly acted television drama from Gent

Helene de Ridder is a bright and young state attorney working in the court house of the beautiful Flemish-Belgian city of Gent. In each seasons she is working on a huge conspiracy case, which is the general theme of the season, but in each episode she also solves everyday cases with juvenile hooligans, thieves, suicide and other not-to-high profile issues. This is an absolutely superb series, a bit similar to the great Scandinavian crime movies, but with a very strong Flemish accent. Since Helena is young and chic and cool, the soundtrack is also upcoming cool Belgian music selected for each season. All the main characters are complex, very well-written, and even better acted. Clara Cleymans would be a superstar in Hollywood, and the other female characters are greatly acted. The main male characters, the contentious Yves Brecke (Michael Pas), the top lawyer Jan Ravenakkers (Lucas Van den Eynde) and the slightly nerd investigating judge Boudewijn Van Der Zeypen (Dirk van Dijck) are very realistic characters driven by a lot of craziness, evil and good intentions. I think this is a truly excellent television drama and also gives a very interesting insight into contemporary Belgium.
