Shocking Acting
18 September 2020
I didn't even recognized Bruce Willis at first - his acting was shocking! Everybody elses acting(?) wasn't far behind either. Story line hard to believe. I only watched it because it was so bad.

Enjoyable Surprise.
14 July 2020
Selected this for the grandkids (they's seen it before), and didn't take much interest in it for the first 10 minutes doing other things, but finally started watching and listening, and then finally enjoying the rest of the movie. Pretty much non stop action, with quite a few funny lines (I seldom laugh, but I did during this). Maybe a few scary scenes for some younger children?

Overall, quite an enjoyable movie. I've never read a Goosebumps book before - maybe I will now?

PRETTY BAD, BUT WATCHED IT ALL
13 October 2019
Yes, this film is pretty bad, but I did manage to sit through the whole movie.........just. Trying to bring modern day technology/ideas/language/fashion etc into medi-evil history just didn't work, unless it was supposed to be a comedy, which it wasn't. For example the scene of the soldiers fighting the villagers was made to look like a modern day riot - the soldiers lined up like "Police" and had shields with eye slits like Police use today. While the villages wore masks and hoodies like rioters of today. I next expected to see people with PRESS written across their backs reporting on the situation.

I'm afraid Robin Hoods of old, like Errol Flynn and Richard Greene, would be rolling over in their graves.

WWII Flag Waving

A typical cheap WWII propaganda movie, but that's not to say it wasn't that bad. Not a great deal of war action until the last 10 minutes of the movie. The target practice scenes using a mobile target on a rail track was historically interesting. Seeing Robert Mitchum was a surprise, as his name did not appear in the opening/ending credits. It goes to show what a small part he plays. The rommance angle of the movie spoilt things a bit. Why do the writers always have two guys fighting over the same woman, when they have only just met her, then propose by the next scene? It would have been much better to stick to the gunnery training scenes, scrub the rommance angle, and have a bit more action.

A great "true to life" TV show!
30 January 2004
A great TV Police Show of the 1960's, and in fact only one of the very few that I would ever watch. So good in fact, that I joined the Police in 1970, and was a Police Officer until 2003. Yes, this show was very down to earth with its stories, and a great example of the every day to day duties performed by uniform Police (its the same "Job" all over the world!).
