Get Shorty (2017)
Unmissable TV - Chris O'dowd's a Winner
Sometimes you stumble across something you think it might be incredible. Turns out that something is Get Shorty. I hadn't encountered the original but it's a brilliant modern adaption.
Crime, comedy and a gripping storyline keeping you invested in all the characters. No idea why it's not been renewed for a 4th, 5th and 6th. Chris O'dowd's character is the pulse throughout the show.
Buy it, rent it, stream it. However you do it, watch it and you will not be disappointed.
COBRA (2020)
Fragile plot, worth a binge
Robert Carlyle's excellence can't save the show, but he does offer glimpses of a classic 24 thriller even if the only Sutherland is executive office. Show is based on political uproar from a seemingly un-natural natural episode. I've just binged all 6 episodes and they were enjoyable despite the leap to apocalyptic doom. Still better than 80% of new American drama.
Zeit der Kannibalen (2014)
A True Classic - Romesh at his best
Romesh Ranganathan is the definition of a method actor. His range and durability to cultivate the perfect scene(s) (I would have to watch the entire film to confirm if he slaps anymore small children) is breathtaking. A true example of the modern actor for any looking to enter the field.
The Office (2005)
A TV show with more than depth than a political thriller!
Time after time I find myself binge-watching the Office U.S. Michael Scott's charm, the antics of Jim and Dwight. In later seasons the outbursts of many fringe characters make the show. I can honestly say this is the best comedy ever made. Each character has carefully constructed lines which delivered by any other would make no sense, only because the characters carry a captivating allurement and own personal dialogue.
The laugh-out loud tone of the Office U.S separated it from the different tone of the UK version.
Long live The Office.
