The Deep House (2021)

Terrible acting and a non-sensical plot

I really wanted to like this- the premise was great, but very unfortunately it became unbearable. The acting (especially Ben's character) was hammy and he was actually unlikeable.

There were some real opportunities here as the underwater house idea was unique and atmospheric- Some of the underwater footage was eerie and clever, but then deteriorated in to an incongruous mess which was just daft....

Sadly it ended up feeling amateurish and annoying- I stuck with it as long as I possibly could, but ended up turning off when Ben got down to 12% oxygen...and I just couldn't take anymore. Disappointing.

The Keeping Hours (2017)

Gentle & atmospheric

Tender and painful, beautifully executed movie. Not a typical "horror" movie but eerie enough to keep me watching. Characters are well played, and captured that feeling we all have from time to time, that it's "hard to move on".
