As director and leading actor, Branagh has turned this movie into one of the most excessive, narcissistic films ever made. With so many great actors and actresses, one is left wondering why they would waste their time to be in this production. The director gives none of them a chance to shine. Branagh's mustache is the star of the show and, unfortunately, the only part of the movie I'm likely to remember. With so much star power, I made the mistake of not reading reviews first. If I had, I probably would have avoided this terrible ego trip. Most viewers would do well to skip this one.

Inspiring, Instructive and Beautiful

Nelson Mandela's life choices, values and philosophy provide an inspiring example for any caring human being. The brutality and cruelty of apartheid should be seen by as many as possible so that humankind never repeats this hatred and violence.
This is a beautiful, well-made film that captures the man and the time--certainly not perfectly, and not in full detail. However, I enjoyed the film immensely, learned a lot from it and encourage everyone to watch it.

I love Sci-Fi and so hoped that this movie would be great given the reviews, but it is literally one of the WORST movies I have ever seen. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!
There are no emotional or intellectual catalysts behind this WORSE THAN B MOVIE film. Who gives a damn about such stupid, un-developed characters? "I am Groot." This is the best line of the film, and Groot, a living tree, is the best character. Enough said?
If you like stupid, campy, sci-fi films, smoke some dope and maybe you'll like this one!
If you want to listen to 1970s pop music, get a cassette tape!
