What can I say – whilst I don't go out of my way to watch subtitled film this one is an enigma – captivating, surreal, gory, clever, stylish and the film work is breath taking! The special effects, the setting and the actors and actresses make this film what it is – a masterpiece
I am not one for gore (I would rather be scared) – but if you can get the gist of what's happening through squinted eyes when those bits are about to happen this is a must to watch! I was so into the characters and felt for them all and was on the edge of my seat and shouting at the TV for most of it. Spectacular visual effects especially the way the camera pans from the blonde guest to the father opening the front door at the beginning of the film to a strange visitor (Reminiscent of the quality filming found in Sam Raimi's evil dead which I adore) – so if you can ignore the almost excessive violence this film contains it will take your breath away and keep you in suspense throughout!!!!

I always believe that how a film starts sets the scene for how it will continue
actors starting off poor and to be fair they got no better at all
I seriously felt my amateur dramatic skills would have been better than those in this film. A young girl returns to her childhood area and reminisces about the good times she had and people she knew – but I felt no passion or care for any of them – even with the paranormal activity it could not captivate my concentration and I started to do other things in the living room like reading as it got so tideous waiting for something exciting to happen. Special effects? Ermm
did not see much of that either
.setting was unspooky and music was garden centre style
the only good thing about it was that there was no excessive violence or graphic blood scenes that really get annoying after a while. Disappointing!!! This is unoriginal and could be seen as hilarious compared to quality movies such as poltergeist, paranormal activity, exorcist etc

Oh dear oh dear, bargain basement dvds are us I am afraid, dreadful, dreadful and dire, Australian actors or swiss or German? They could not really decide and kept changing their accents whenever they felt like it, and the sync seems to be out with the speech so perhaps this made the feel of the film non existent, I never felt for anyone in it so again not much to write home about
set on a ship that is also dreadfully designed in a fashion similar to that mr blobby may have built, armed with only machine guns killing strange creatures
if there is anything positive to say about the film its that the creatures, at times, especially during close up, can be quite scary, so if you watch it, do it for that reason only (and the odd bits of gore fest), as the film lacks anything worthwhile for me to remain captivated. Poor all round for me.

If you are a gore fanatic this is a must see! If you are one of those who likes to see why films have been banned then also watch this as it borders those boundaries too! I normally enjoy spooky films but this was a crossover between spooky – which would hook me straight into it, and zombie ripping gore – which I have to look through closed fingers to vaguely see what is going on
still I had to watch it as the eyes of those deceased and the way they stood out within the scary surroundings still kept Basically a girl (Rebecca) returns to the place of a massacre which she survived as a child, but having lost her memory, is none the wiser as to what has happened

I loved the look of the dead people, especially their eyes, and the setting in which they are filmed (not just the house – but the background behind them when they talk to Rebecca in what looks like the light half way between heaven and hell, with creative particles of dust passing each body), but music was a bit naff I didn't really 'feel' for any of the characters which is normally the whole point of a film
so that was disappointing..no budding actors/actresses for the future in this one I am afraid If you like excessive violence then this is the one for you – if you want something 'moving' or 'spooky' don't' bother

this had it all lol...maria decides to take on the mob with her teeth, and vampiric charms i.e. getting naked lots, it made me laugh, yet the vampire scenes were very realistic too, i felt the special effects were the necks are ripped out to be very realistic...although i don't like gore it is not excessive so it still made me believe it was for real, which is how one should feel in a good movie...the actors are quality actors for once in these cheap flicks so again that was a huge aid to the film..maria is sophisticated, yet violent, enticing yet very dangerous, and the mafia lads are of the model variety so she's after all she can get. i watch so many dire films on the 'horror' channel so its good to finally not have to forward through a film through boredom...I really sat down and wanted to watch it ... a real plus!!

Opened well and for a minute or two I thought
yep this is going to be an interesting and different type of film after a quick spooky intro..however the whole of the film ends up a disappointment and a shame as billy zane and Christina cole are good actors/actresses
the whole going to an island thing and finding it houses demonic forces seemed to be the initial line when it started but then it continues like a poor replica of 'predator' and you just can't compete with that, especially on a low budget, I suppose if I had to say something positive about the monsters they are pretty believable at times, but it would have been better to have stuck with a more supernatural theme
and I felt no emotion for those on the island, which is always a bad sign if you want to feel for those striving to survive

Thought I would give this a go as it was showing on 'horror' channel
and looked like one to watch
but talk about 'z' celebrities
I wish I had read this review from 'zofie' before I even turned the film on

the movie really is dreadful and I wonder why some of the actors/actresses agreed to take part as it will probably stain their movie careers
.one of the most boring and uneventful films I have seen - ..and whilst the person reviewing last says the 'The CGI is awful....does not even look real' – I think its even worse than that – I think you could of got better effects using an old spectrum 48k machine than the display shown within this film. If you are going to produce a film at least make it worthwhile
and to those directors out there, throwing in a few scantily clad women does NOT make it watchable..just makes it even worse and proves the lack of thought and/or quality that went into making this.

a reporter and blind man become embrolied as investigators as they try and solve a string of murders....perhaps whilst good in its day...it definitely now had its day i am afraid..... dreadful 70s porn style music included alongside poorly dubbed voices...whilst the actors/actresses are listed as Italian...the words are English and whilst they appear to match the lips...they still don't sound normal. The blind guy tanks around like he isn't blind at all at times and has the hearing of a dog...i.e. superhuman....did not seem much of a plot really or any reason for the killings...shame really as i loved 'Demon's' - now that is a timeless classic of Argento's....
