Charlie's Angels (2019)
Oh save your money and your time which IS money.
Seriously, modern feminists' mass hysteria keeps ruining Hollywood and our free time. This is a movie with an agenda very poorly executed.
Manhunt (2017)
A Golden needle in a haystack
It's incredibly hard to find among the garbage that TV and NETFLIX are filled with something that is worth your time. Also, why the ones that are brilliant and thought provoking are rarely properly promoted. This short series is one in a million: besides the story and the Unibomber story, the acting is impeccable lead By Worthington and utterly underrated Paul Bettany, great cinematography and editing. I binge watched it; was sleep deprived the next day because stayed up till 4 am but it was the TVshow that I couldn't pause.
Den skyldige (2018)
Intense film! Brilliant acting!
If you haven't seen this film yet, DON'T read the reviews , especially the negative ones. Don't think about the plot holes (some people were disturbed by some "unrealistic" actions in the film). Just watch it and feel everything that Asger feels for 1h and 25min. Jacob Cedergen's acting is exceptional. The film is so intense that I was afraid to look away for even a second.
I don't remember the last time I saw the movie that was held by one actor in such brilliant way. If you are not a fan of films with subtitles, I'd suggest to still try watch "The Guilty". I'm almost certain that you'll be hooked after 5 minutes.
Homecoming (2018)
If you love and understand "Mr Robot", you'll love this one too...
Sam Esmail has his own style. I could notice some tricks that he used in Mr Robot that he applied in "Homecoming". The way he tells the story is so bewildering. I, personally, watched all episodes of the 1st season in one evening that turned into a late night. I think that not only Julia Roberts but all actors are on the right place and did their job flawlessly. Camera work, the colors, music, mise-en-scène, everything creates the atmosphere of suspense, thrill and desire to find out what would happen to the characters. This show is excellent. Highly recommend.
Elephant Song (2014)
For Those who appreciate the real art of acting
I have to start with the fact , that I am an ADDICT. Ever since I saw the first film with Xavier Dolan "Tom à la ferme" I was hooked. His talent doesn't have a specific term, I call it 'a unicorn' though.. because he is so unique. I am addicted to all the work he did, to his views and ideas. People like him are rarely born..so he is an exceptional figure.
This film is for those who DO value the true art of cinema. I was a bit skeptical before watching the film because it's an English. And I love the atmosphere of Québecois culture that was created by Dolan previously and the French language ,of course.
But as soon as Dolan's character appeared in this film I couldn't stop watching.. couldn't even pause.. Yes, the film is slow. BUT it's not boring.. it smoothly flows while keeping you on edge..! True art! And absolutely BRILLIANT Dolan!
Allied (2016)
Oh la la , Marion and Wow , Brad!!!!
I am so eager to leave a review for this movie for one main reason -- I am incredibly angry at those who said that "Pitt's performance was awful or emotionless or that he and Marion didn't have chemistry... well... I will try to stay calm and be polite. If you ,actually, watch the movie and pay attention to the plot - - you'll understand the peculiarities of the relationship between 2 characters. And simply understand them from both points of view. I watched this film twice and didn't find it neither boring nor "chick fleaky". It's wonderful.. beautiful and touching. If you are a snob or GRUMPY or made of only ability to judge -- please, don't go!!! Your opinion won't make the difference. ..
The Lobster (2015)
If you appreciate true art of film
I don't leave reviews on this site simply because it won't change anything. But in this case I couldn't resist. So many negative reviews.. so much criticism and accusation.. Yes this film is very bizarre and it's not a light comedy when while watching one you don't have to use your brain. Yorgos Lanthimos is a brilliant Greec director and writer. He has very outstanding style which you can recognize. If you liked The Lobster I would highly recommend to watch "Alps" and "Dogtooth".
The cast in The Lobster is made of wonderful actors: Farrell (who in my opinion just gets better and better) , Weisz, Léa Seydoux, Whishaw, Reilley. They create this extremely strange world, where being single is like a plague or AIDS.. On the outside it shows the struggle of
single people in the outside world, but deeper it simply reveals main issue: how judgmental the society is.
All I wanted to say was that this is one of those films which is not for general audience. But it's incredible (that's my personal opinion).
Requiem for a Dream (2000)
The film about our addictions.
Well, this is my first review(on this site) and i chose "Requiem.." because i find it utterly underestimated. I'm not a teenager and in fact not a fan of Leto. But i do appreciate Aronofsky's work. For those who haven't seen this film yet i would suggest to think first. If you are "easy, pleasure, funny or cool movie" kind of viewer then don't waste your time because after you could just one of those who talk sh..t about this film. "Requiem for a dream" is not a film about a drug addiction, but about addiction - period. We all have one. If someone says that he isn't addicted to anything - he's a terrible lier. We all have this at list one thing which in excess. And excess is vicious, it's self destructing and sometimes dreadful and even disgusting. That's what Darren wanted to show, that was his point.
For all deep thinkers and appreciators of high quality cinematography i would highly recommend to see it!
