Well you cant beat The Beyond
14 November 2004
Of course you cannot expect repeats of The Beyond or Zombie Flesh Eaters here, but come on - Is it that bad of a movie? It was typical Fulci (even though the story did not follow quite his previous films and the ending like What now?? Why ?? Fulci still managed to show of his best abilities as a " I'm gonna grab you and I'm gonna scare the crap outta ya" Fulci is very clever in keep using Fabio Frizzi's music as it keeps that connection within his films to which we all recognise. I would like to be able to say that Fulci has shocked us more than any other Director ever ( Even over Argento). Come on people who is going to make a Zombie film better than him. Dawn Of The Dead has already been done. Dare anybody take Fulcis Place!!!!

Zombie (1979)
I don't watch this alone
14 November 2004
I just think this film as my all time horror scare when I was young. I watched this film aged about 13 and it scared the crap out of me. I couldn't sleep for weeks. In fact I still would not watch this film alone (20 yrs later) on a dark night The gore of this film and of course what do you expect by Fulci. It was just terrifying at the time, Overtaking all the slasher films to the extreme. This Zombie film has got to be the best, top of them all. Yea OK the plot is weak and promiscuous but thats the same in all Zombie films, the gore scenes well make up for the storyline. basically if you do not like this film being a horror fan - Well then you obviously are not.

I love this little film

The company of Wolves. why is it so underrated? A simple low budget sweet tale that everybody knows cleverly put together into this horror masterpiece with a few more short stories added. Special Effects are great. I love the first story the most where they cut the Werewolves head off and it turns back human. I'm probably going to upset a few people now when I rate the special effects more than In An American Werewolf In London. But the best bit if all is all the god damn German Shepherds jumping through the window at the end. Believable as Wolves Not - but still such a delicious, entertaining, humorous and gory. The Company Of Wolves is OK in my book.

The Mad Death (1983)
I have to see this one again
14 November 2004
I remember this film. It was a three part series on BBC1 if I remember rightly. Every time I was In church since and All Things Bright And Beautiful has been played, the theme of this film comes straight into my head (almost like a hollow whispering of the song). In fact as I sit here now I can hear that dog at the end of the film barking away in the car then going into an eerie whine. The plot was devastating to see what would happen if our country were to have the Rabies Virus - Quite Uncontrolable as you would imagine by all the OTT animal lovers in the programme, making it an impossible task to get hold of the carriers. Brilliant work. Come on BBC give us something for our money. This is one that does no need updating.
