Heart of Stone (2023)
Garbage! Except for Alia Bhatt
In the cinematic world, there is an expectation of greatness, a bar set by predecessors and legends of the industry. However, not every production can meet this high standard. This is painfully evident in the latest action movie offering, which, to be blunt, disappoints on almost every level. From the script to the acting, the movie fails to deliver an engaging experience to its audience.
At the forefront of the film's limited redeeming qualities is Alia Bhatt. Her presence serves as the only glint of hope in an otherwise dim film. Bhatt, with her unique ability to bring depth and emotion to her roles, tries her best to lift the narrative off the ground. Her innate talent shines through, even when the script does her no favors. In stark contrast to the rest of the film, Bhatt manages to infuse her character with some degree of authenticity and realism. It's unfortunate that her efforts are swallowed up in a sea of mediocrity.
Speaking of mediocrity, Gal Gadot's performance is, sadly, underwhelming. Gadot, who has been brilliant in past roles, seems entirely out of place in this film. Her portrayal comes across as forced and lacks the gravitas that leading roles demand. It's hard to say if it's entirely her fault or if she's been miscast, but one thing is clear: this wasn't the platform for her to shine.
The script, a foundational pillar for any film, is in a state of childish disarray. It lacks depth, maturity, and finesse. The plotlines are predictable, the dialogues are uninspiring, and the character arcs are barely existent. A great script serves as the backbone for the actors to build upon, but in this case, the script seems to be working against them.
Moreover, the action sequences, which one would expect to be the saving grace of an action movie, are an overindulgent mess. Instead of being tight, riveting, and edge-of-the-seat thrilling, they are drawn out and overkill. The effects and choreography seem more geared towards shock value than genuine storytelling.
To label the movie as a "gigantic waste of time" might sound harsh, but for many viewers, it feels like an apt description. For a genre that promises adrenaline and suspense, this film delivers little more than yawns and glances at the watch. One can only hope that future projects involving such talented artists like Bhatt and Gadot would be more carefully crafted and better executed.
The Black Prince (2017)
Painfully bad
Horrible acting, amateurish production, atrocious script. It feels like a bad parody of an epic movie. Nothing works (soundtrack, extras, etc.).

Run away from it!
Mr. Show with Bob and David: The Cry of a Hungry Baby (1995)
Timeless genius comedy!
Still can't believe it took me more than 25 years to find this!
Timeless comedy, unbelievably creative and ahead of its time! Bob and David are comedic geniuses, as time would tell, again and again.
Happiest Season (2020)
Horrible!
Pathetic screenplay, unlikeable characters, and a tremendous waste of talent from a cast that could have been great in the hands of competent writers.
American Factory: A Conversation with the Obamas (2019)
Repetitive, predictable and unnecessary
Love the Obamas, loved the documentary, but this conversation was utterly unnecessary.
Chopsticks (2019)
Cute but inconsequential
Cute story, good actors, and lots of good intentions. But the weak direction and sophomoric screenplay don't help and the movie never takes off.
