Paradise Cove (2021)
A Masterpiece
What a fantastic ride this film was. A whodunnit with some of the best twists and turns I have experienced. The characters really come to life, especially when things go wrong. The interactions between Bree and Tracy are scintillating whilst Knox really knows how to look after his wife and his new house. Not sure I have ever seen a film with no plot holes whatsoever. A well-knitted masterpiece that puts Nolan to shame. I wish all movies could be this good.
Les as de la jungle (2017)
Absolutely Terrible
Went to see this with my three year old and I have to say I was very disappointed.
Now I have seen a lot of kids films recently, Ferdinand, My Little Pony, Moana.. etc But this is so far under par that it should have only been a direct to DVD release if that. Very poor voice work, messy story, crazy amount of violence and punching that was not necessary in a child's film. Everyone involved should be ashamed of this mess.
Would not recommend at all, not even on Netflix.
A Ghost Story (2017)
Wonderfully haunting tale
I can understand the diverse rating for this film, it really will be a love or hate rating. But if you are in the right place and the right mood this really is a masterpiece.
The very slow pace gets you in the theme of the film and with excellent compositions, shot with very long takes I would imagine it was very tricky to pull together.
For me, it is one of those tales that will stay with me for a long time. The connection with the past and present is done very well leaving you wanting more.
There really is no reason to give this film a low score, it is just not the film for you.
