Excellent presentation
4 October 2021
Very much enjoyed this program and how the historical facts were presented. I gave it only a 6 rating due to the constant, overly loud background music which sometimes made it difficult to hear the narration. Program could have done without the music. I would personally not purchase this DVD for that reason alone.

Totally boring!
23 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I watched this movie for only two reasons. First, because I was looking forward to a good disaster movie with some great special effects. Secondly, because I just love Kyra Sedgwick. Sorry to have to say that the movie was a total bore! The only good effect was the few seconds shown of the sun turning into a red dwarf and then burning out. The ending, in which the sun comes back out again, made no sense scientifically. Except for Sedgwick's performance, I feel like I wasted 1 1/2 hours!

Simply not funny!
30 June 2019
I love animals and Howie Mandel, but this show just simply isn't funny. I don't like all the manipulations with the videos and there is way too much unfunny narrative by Mandel. Show would be much better just showing the videos as is, cut out all the extra narrative and stop all the silliness in between each video. I wouldn't be at all surprised to soon hear that this show has been canceled. Won't be tuning in again.

Earth's Final Hours (2011 TV Movie)

Yet another SyFy stinker!
18 December 2011
Once again, as with other SyFy Channel disaster movies of recent years, I was looking forward to watching a really good movie with Earth's Final Hours. I particularly wanted to watch it when I saw that Bruce Davison is in it, whom I have admired since his debut in Mame with Lucille Ball. I cannot believe that Davison would agree to appearing in such a stinker! His performance was the only saving grace of the movie. The movie was nothing but way overdone-and dreadfully boring-FBI shootouts and lousy special effects. The scientific aspects were also bordering on the ridiculous. I was expecting to watch something of the caliber of the recent "2012" movie, but this film came nowhere close to it. I would not waste one minute watching this movie ever again in spite of Bruce Davison! Avoid this one like the plague!

Doomsday Prophecy (2011 TV Movie)

Another lousy made-for-TV disaster movie!
13 August 2011
Here again, I was looking forward tonight to watching a new disaster movie and with hopefully awesome special effects as in the movie 2012. Instead of spending money creating awesome special effects, the film makers chose instead to report various cities and countries' destruction via TV and radio special news reports. When NYC was destroyed, the few seconds of destruction were shown in a window's reflection! What a joke! The film makers instead used up the movie's time with idiotic and nothing but annoying car chases and shoot-outs, which were totally unnessary to the story. You can view better special effects by watching The Weather Channel's "It Could Happen Tomorrow"! If I had known, I wouldn't have wasted my time and I advise you not to waste your time with this stinker either!

Rio (2011)

Rio - A Must-See Movie! Totally Awesome!
17 July 2011
Rio has to be one of the best animated movies in decades! Each of the seven times I attended this movie, I fell more and more in love with it. Not only is the storyline heartwarming, the scenery throughout the movie is extremely colorful. Then what can I say about the music?! Only the best ever for an animated feature! You end up wanting to dance in your seat from the awesome music throughout the film.

The movie appears to have already made close to $500 million in worldwide ticket sales which does not yet even include DVD sales commencing in August! I have already preordered my copy! Anyone who has not seen this movie is missing out on something truly brilliant and uplifting. A must-see movie for every family member!

Super Eruption (2011 TV Movie)
Super Eruption big waste of time!
16 July 2011
I was looking forward to watching a new and exciting disaster movie this evening. This movie was a total waste of my two hours. Although the basic story is good - Yellowstone erupting, which scientists say is inevitable, the storyline is totally ludicrous. The scenes where the main character sees and talks to herself through her computer, from apparently another dimension, makes no sense whatsoever and doesn't add a thing to the story. The special effects as well are just pitiful.

If there's nothing else to watch on TV and you don't care about wasting two hours, then go for it; otherwise, you'll be better off spending that time reading a good book. I wish that's what I had done! In my opinion, this is one of many badly scripted made-for-TV science fiction movies that has come out of Hollywood in the past two decades. Seems they don't know how to make them anymore!
