R.S.V.P. (2002)
Awesome Hitchcockian Classic; You gotta watch it twice!
This Movie rocks! It's entertaining, funny, well-paced, with interesting characters (I love Grace Z.) and excellent cinematography. Like a good Hitchcock film, Mr. Galluzzo makes a bloodless thriller that pays much attention to the details. So much so, you got to watch it at least twice just to catch half of all the tells embedded in this twisted tale. This is independent film-making at its best.
I'm not much into waxing philosophical about whether or not a movie is all that or not. And I certainly wouldn't want to pretend that I'm the authority on film, but this movie is extremely clever and well done. Bravo to all involved! Hats off to Mark Anthony Galluzzo for consistently demonstrating that quality films can be made without studio backing or 10's of millions of dollars.
Trash (1999)
Trash is a potent coming of age drama
You don't see a whole lot of serious films that tell the many tales of life in America's trailer parks, but Trash is one of them for the ages. This potent story should speak to all those who grew up in the south or 'the parks' anywhere for that matter. Some may argue that the film takes itself a little too seriously, but that's what good drama is all about. The pain and suffering, the love and laughter of growth and life.
This edgy debut picture is worthy of an award-winning, NYU writer/director with excellent performances and awesome cinematography. Look for it on be a staple on network TV someday. If Galluzzo breaks, it's got independent classic written all over it.
Bob Roberts (1992)
AWESOME! Political Commentary/Spoof at it's finest
You just don't find movies like this anymore. I guess you could say that Bullworth comes close, but seriously, has the 'Rebel Conservative' come to life or what? The only difference between George W. and Bob Roberts is the guitar! Forget Nostrodomus, rent Bob Roberts!
