The Frame (2014)

!0/10 for me says it all!

I am stunned. This is a film with no Hollywood actors, but actors that give their whole, effects rather clever than technologically aided, music simple, but beautiful, adding to the whole atmosphere of the film... As someone already wrote, this is a work of art! A dark and otherworldly take on "Truman Show", one could say, but even more than that. Parallel universe theories, the will to take one's fate into one's own hands (with or without help from someone else... ;)), good & evil... Well it makes you think, it makes you question, it makes you wonder, but it doesn't leave you hanging in the end, like other mystery themed films do. It is absolutely satisfactory from the beginning until the very end. I bow to anyone and all involved in its making! Definitely original, it sucks you in its bizarreness and poetry... Nothing more to add! I REALLY recommend it! It's been ages since I' ve been THAT enthusiastic about a film!!! Watch it! Watch it! Watch it!

Watchable... if you have NOTHING better to do!

Well, as much as I like Bruce Dickinson as a musician, I can't say the same about his movie producing skills. This was quite mediocre and looked amateurish to me, although I'm not a certified film critic!

The story had some interesting parts, the script made me think about many Iron Maiden/Bruce Dickinson songs, but other than that, I think any of us here might have done a better work.

The acting was bearable, but that's about it! The ending tried to be interesting, but I am not so sure it achieved it. Nothing new to offer as plots go, really.

Finally, I didn't think the soundtrack matched the scenes at any given time and I would much rather listen to Dickinson's music outside the context of this movie!

BUT... I have seen a lot worse films and I could say I went through this one almost painlessly!

If you're dead bored, it might offer a thought-free couple of hours of entertainment!

(Almost) as good as the original!

I saw this remake a day after watching the original and was a bit uncertain whether it could be as good, but the colours and photography in the film were great, the minor differentiations in the story by Babluani greatly appreciated and a very good set of actors, also. At times, some of them seemed to try a bit too hard in my opinion, compared to the french version, but still, if I'd never seen the original film, I think I would have given it more than 7. Highly recommended, but I also recommend that you watch 13 Tzameti, too, because of the whole film noir atmosphere which brings a somewhat more poetic outcome (it's also in black & white). Really looking forward to seeing more from this director! ...Great work!
