Timon & Pumbaa (1995–1999)

Decent, but it has problems.

"Timon and Pumbaa" was a TV spin-off of the amazing Disney film "The Lion King". It ran for 3 seasons with a total of 85 episodes on CBS from 1995-1999.

"Timon and Pumbaa" (much like the "Aladdin" TV series) was a lot goofier and crazier when compared to the movie it was based on. For example, all of the weird characters. Especially Criminal Quint, who was actually human. Who ever thought we would see a human in a the "Liom King" series? But the goofiness does (in some ways) give the show a certain charm, I just really think Quint was a bad idea.

The animation isn't so great in this show either. I know their budget is smaller since it's a TV show, but I know they could've done better. Especially since this show was made in the '90s, and there were a LOT of cartoon shows in the '90s with great animation ("Animaniacs"; "Ren & Stimpy"; "The Simpsons"). Also this is Disney we're talking about. The biggest media company in the world! I guess they don't care that much when it comes to television.

"Timon and Pumbaa" is a decent show though. It was pretty funny, the animation was..... okay, the voice acting was great, and the show was overall pretty enjoyable. However it's not perfect, it is a little too goofy sometimes, and some episodes flat-out sucked.

The Lion King 1½ (2004 Video)

Though it does ruin some of the best moments of the first film, it is a very fun comedy movie.

"The Lion King 1½" is basically Timon and Pumbaa showing us what they were doing when the parts of "The Lion King" that they weren't in were going on. It tells us a lot of Timon's back-story, and we even get to see his family.

Unlike it's predecessors which contained a lot of dramatic scenes, this movie is a 100% comedy film. And it does a good job, this movie has a good sense of humor, and Timon and Pumbaa are back to their old funny selves (they weren't all that funny in the 2nd film). The animation is nicely done too. Also we have Julie Kavner (Marge Simpson) voicing Timon's mom, which is really cool.

But there are some things that I have to criticize. And the main thing is that this movie ruins some of the best moments of the first film. For example "The Circle of Life" scene. Having it where Pumbaa farts and that's why all the animals kneel down, while it is funny, it completely kills one of the best scenes in the "The Lion King". And there are much more of those scenes than the one I just mentioned.

"The Lion King 1½" is a fun comedy film, and it's certainly one of the better direct-to-video sequels. But it does ruin some of the classic moments, and it's really not a masterpiece. Overall, I recommend it, but it does have flaws.

T.U.F.F. Puppy (2010–2015)

An idiotic crap-fest.

Butch Hartman's most recent Nicktoon "T.U.F.F. Puppy" truly is awful. The show follows a moronic dog named Duddley (voiced by Jerry Trainer from the equally annoying Nickelodeon show "iCarly") who joins "T.U.F.F.". A group of secret agents who fight bad guys and save the town of Petropolis, which is entirely inhabited by animals. Now where do I begin on how horrible this show is?

First of all, the characters are obnoxious and unlikeable in every way imaginable. Like Duddley's irritating personality, and constant shouting random phrases. Or Snaptrap's annoying voice and lame jokes. The only tolerable character is Kitty Katswell (voiced by Grey DeLisle - Vicky from "The Fairly OddParents"; Frankie from "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends"), and even she isn't all that interesting.

The animation is flat, pointy, and irritating, but this is Butch Hartman, so what's new? Also, this show is unbearably poorly written. The jokes are cheesy, childish, and obnoxious. And there really isn't much thought or intelligence put into this show. I honestly can't see this show appealing to anyone who's seen some actually good cartoons, or to anyone over the age of 8.

The animation is bland, the stories are dull, the humor is childish, the characters are obnoxious, and the voice acting is just average. Not recommended.

Space Ghost Coast to Coast (1993–2012)

The very first animated talk show. And it was fantastic!

"Space Ghost: Coast to Coast" was Cartoon Network's first fully-original animated TV show. It premiered in 1994 and ended in 2004. It was basically the launchpad for Cartoon Network's adult-oriented, late-night programming block "Adult Swim", which gave it the nick-name of "The Father of Adult Swim". It was also the first animated talk show, and pretty much the only one.

The host of the show was the 1960s Hanna-Barbera action cartoon hero, Space Ghost, who is now self-absorbed and stupid. His arch-nemesis Zorak is the band leader, and he's still as evil as ever. And another villain from the '60s show, Moltar, is the director.

Space Ghost interviewed actual celebrities. Including: Bobcat Goldthwait, Conan O'Brien, Fran Drecsher, Weird Al Yankovic, Mark Hammil, Jack Black, Matt Groening, Mike Judge, The Ramones, Hulk Hogan, Jim Carrey, Slash, Willie Nelson, Adam West, Emiril Lagasse, Carrot Top, Tyra Banks, Ben Stiller, and William Shatner among many others.

"Space Ghost: Coast to Coast" spawned many spin-offs. Which include "Cartoon Planet"; "The Brak Show"; "Aqua Teen Hunger Force"; and "Harvey Birdman, Attourney-at-Law". This show was very important to the history of Adult Swim.

"Space Ghost: Coast to Coast" was just a hilarious show. Surreal humor at it's funniest, and I loved the idea of giving a '60s Hanna-Barbera character a talk show. One of the best shows in Cartoon Network and Williams Street history. The characters were all hilarious, the voice acting was great, as I just said I loved the concept of the show, the limited animation actually made it even funnier, and the odd, surreal sense of humor was just great.

The Amazing World of Gumball (2011–2019)

While it is unoriginal at some points, it's a decent animated sitcom.

The current Cartoon Network line-up has a lot of good shows, and bad ones. But a lot of them are just in the middle. This one is just in the middle of average and good.

"The Amazing World of Gumball" follows the life of Gumball Watterson, 12-year-old cat who always gets into trouble. He lives his best friend/pet goldfish, Darwin; his lazy, child-like father Richard; his hard-working mother Nicole; and his genius little sister Anais.

This show may seem like a traditional animated sitcom, but at the same it's pure, concentrated, 100% insanity! While most characters look like the regular anthropomorphic animals you'd see in a cartoon, there's also a potato, a live-action face turned upside-down with eyes on the chin, a piece of toast, and even a finger print. I'm not kidding. In one episode there was an anthropomorphic FINGER PRINT! And that's just a sample of the craziness that is displayed in this show.

One of this show's biggest flaws is (as I mentioned in the summary) how unoriginal it is sometimes. For example: in one episode Gumball and Darwin decide they can't be friends anymore, so they each look for a new best friend, but it doesn't work out so they make up and they're friends again.

Now did the writers really need to use that clichéd, over-used, plot? We've already seen this with so many characters in other sitcoms. The characters are kind of cliché too. Trouble-making son, idiotic father, intelligent younger sibling.... So many other TV shows have used these kinds of characters, I can't even count them, but the main ones that come to mind are Bart, Homer, and Lisa Simpson from "The Simpsons". This show also uses some lame, already-heard-or-seen-it-a-million-times gags and jokes. For example: in one episode Darwin's stomach growls, Gumball says (in a scared voice) "What was that!?" and Darwin replies "It's my tummy...".

But aside from the unoriginality, "The Amazing World of Gumball" is a decent show. It has a good voice cast, unique animation, and sometimes it is pretty funny.

Overall, it's not as good as Cartoon Network's recent classics "Adventure Time" and "Regular Show", but it's a whole lot better than "Mad", "The Problem Solverz", and "Johnny Test". Not highly recommended, but it's okay.

The Angry Beavers (1997–2001)

One of the greatest shows Nickelodeon ever aired.

"The Angry Beavers" was one of my favorite shows as a kid, and watching it again from a more adult perspective, it's still the wacky, off-the-wall, hilarious show I knew and loved.

Norbert (the smooth, cool one) and Dagget (the crazy, hyper one) were kicked out of their home by their own parents after the new litter was born. So Dag and Norb are now bachelor beavers living in the same house going through many crazy situations. From Dag getting the horrible disease "Stinky Toe". To Norb daring Dag to be silent, or else he'll get the painful moogie pinch.

Everything about this show was great. The characters were all funny and endearing, the stories were hilariously weird, the animation was colorful and nice to look at, the theme tune was very catchy, and easily one of the most memorable theme tunes in Nickelodeon history. "The Angry Beavers" is truly a fun show for kids and adults alike.

A series finale was produced in 2001, but Nickelodeon refused to air it due to it breaking one of the laws in Nicktoons. Which is: Don't say you're show is ending. Nickelodeon (at the time) liked rerunning the episodes over and over so the kids would think the show's were still in production, even though they obviously weren't.

"The Angry Beavers" is one of the greatest animated TV shows of 1997, and one of the top 5 greatest Nicktoons of all time. An odd, but hilarious cartoon show. Fans of the beavers should also check out Cartoon Network's currently-running series "Regular Show". As it has very similar main characters, and somewhat similar humor.

The Fairly OddParents (2001–2017)

Pretty good at first, then it started to fall a little, and after Poof was born, the show completely died.

"The Fairly OddParents" is the first animated TV show created by former writer and director on "Johnny Bravo" and "Dexter's Laboratory", Butch Hartman. It is also the 16th of Nickelodeon's Nicktoons, and the first spin-off of Nicktoon anthology series "Oh Yeah! Cartoons".

The series follows miserable 10-year-old boy Timmy Turner, whose life gets turned around when he gets his Fairy GodParents, Cosmo and Wanda. Cosmo and Wanda grant Timmy's wishes, as long as the don't interfere with the fairy rule book "Da Rules". Together they deal with Timmy's moronic parents, his evil babysitter Vicky, bully Francis, and paranoid teacher Denzel Crocker (voiced by Carlos Alazraqui).

When this show premiered in 2001 right before "Invader ZIM", it was funny and entertaining in a kind of goofy way. It wasn't as good as some other Nicktoons, like "Doug"; "Rocko's Modern Life"; "The Ren & Stimpy Show"; "SpongeBob SquarePants"; or "Hey Arnold!", but it was funny. Sure it had flaws. For instance, Timmy's voice was kind of annoying, despite being voiced by a talented voice actress (Tara Strong); the animation was very bland and boring; while in some ways the show was clever and original, it was also unoriginal and stupid at some points; also, Timmy was kind of a confusing character. Sometimes you felt sorry for him because of how miserable his life was, but other times he acted so annoying and selfish that you begin to think he deserves what he gets; and lastly some of the dialog and humor was kind of childish, But still, "The Fairly OddParents" was an enjoyable show. The plots were decent and some jokes were pretty funny. However it started to slip a little around 2004 or 2005. It became a whole lot more childish and juvenile, and more poorly written and unoriginal. Finally, in 2006 it was announced that "The Fairly OddParents" had been canceled, which was kind of a good thing, considering how bad it became.

But in 2008 Nickelodeon aired a made-for-TV "Fairly OddParents" movie called "Fairly OddBaby", where (for some strange reason) Cosmo gets pregnant and gives birth to Timmy's new GodBrother, Poof. The TV movie sucked, and the episodes that came afterwards did too.

Also, earlier this year a down-right awful live-action "Fairly OddParents" TV movie titled "A Fairly OddMovie: Grow up, Timmy Turner!" aired. Everyone thought it was gonna be the end, but sadly, the dying carcass of "The Fairly OddParents" is still dragging on. And it shows no sign of stopping.

2008-present: 1/10

It went from being good, to below-average, to what it is now: completely horrible. Since this show has more bad episodes than good ones overall, and still some big flaws in the good episodes, I can't give it a particularly high rating.

The Ren & Stimpy Show (1991–1996)

A masterpiece in animated television.

I've stated in some of my other reviews that the 1990s were the golden-age of animated television, and the second golden-age of animation in general. Well, this show here is one of the main reasons for that. "The Ren & Stimpy Show". Ren Hoek is a psychotic, short-tempered, greedy chihuahua. Stimpson J. Cat (nicknamed "Stimpy") is Ren's blissfully stupid best friend, a cat who loves his litter box, watching cartoons and "The Happy Happy Joy Joy Song" by Stinkywizzleteets. Ren is often mean to Stimpy. He calls him names, he slaps him, he chokes him, and one time he even plotted to kill him. But despite this, Ren really does care about Stimpy. Ren's softer side is actually seen quite often in the earlier episodes. These two crazy animals get into many crazy situations in a style reminiscent to the animation golden-age. Other characters on this show include... Mr. Horse: a horse who always has a different job; Powdered Toast Man: a superhero made of toast; Haggis McHaggis: a short Scottish man who was once the star of a hit cartoon show; Wilbur Cobb: a crazy, senile old man; Muddy Mudskipper: a celebrity who seems nice on TV, but is a greedy jerk in real life. Not unlike Krusty the clown from "The Simpsons". There are also many unnamed characters like the fireman, the fat lady, or the married couple who's faces are never shown.

Ren & Stimpy was the third of the original three Nicktoons (with the first two being "Doug" and "Rugrats"). And it's also the best. Now, "Rugrats" was great... in it's early years, and "Doug" was great too, but "Ren & Stimpy" was just... amazing! As I've said earlier, it was kind of like the classic animated short films from the golden-age (1930s-'50s), but with a twist. It had a lot of classic Warner Bros., Disney, MGM, and Hanna-Barbera elements. Like the classical music, the zany slapstick humor, the witty and sarcastic humor, or the fact that Ren and Stimpy were almost completely different characters in a different time period in many episodes. Sometimes they were nature show hosts, sometimes they were spacemen, sometimes they were pets, sometimes they were bums looking for food and a job, but most of the time they were just two friends living in a house together.

At the same time "Ren & Stimpy" was an homage to the animation golden-age, it was also a satire. It made fun of politics and society, while it also referenced lots of cartoons and other things from the '50s and '60s, and it had surprisingly a lot of adult references for a cartoon airing on a kids network (though a lot of these scenes were cut). "Ren & Stimpy" was truly a brilliant cartoon. "Ren & Stimpy" also had a lot of insane, gross, and twisted humor, but it was handled so perfectly that it actually made the show even funnier!

Also, the animation on this show was fantastic. Everything moves smoothly, the way the characters' lips move match their words perfectly. Especially in season 2. The faces on the characters have the perfect blend of real human expressions and extremely unrealistic ones, and it's great to see the detail and effort John Kricfalusi put into these characters. The episodes "Sven Hoek" and "The Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen" are the best examples of this wonderful animation I'm talking about. They are some of the best animation ever done in cartoon history.

"The Ren & Stimpy Show" was just great. It had everything. Amazing voice acting, brilliant writing, hilariously off-the-wall characters, and superb animation. It truly is a masterpiece in comedy and cartoons. Not only the best Nicktoon, or one of the best '90s cartoons, but one of the best animated TV shows of all time. Maybe even THE best animated TV show of all time. I am not kidding. If you are a cartoon fan and haven't yet seen "The Ren & Stimpy Show", you are really missing out. It may not be on TV very often nowadays, but a lot of the episodes have been posted on video websites such as YouTube, and DailyMotion. Also, the entire show was released on DVD in three volumes back in 2004 and 2005. I highly suggest buying those DVDs on eBay or Amazon.com.

The Oblongs (2001–2002)

Gross, disturbing, and creepy. This show deserved it's cancellation.

"The Oblongs" is a short-lived animated sitcom that aired on The WB from 2001-2002. It aired reruns on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, and was announced to be revived there sometime soon.

"The Oblongs" is about a deformed family who live in a town that was affected by toxic waste. Bob Oblong is the happy, limbless father (voiced by the famous comedic actor Will Ferrel); Pickles is his wife who once lived in the hills, but now lives in the valley, and the polluted air affected her too (she lost her hair and now wears a wig). They also have four freakish children. Milo (voiced by Pamela Adlon - Bobby Hill from "King of the Hill") is their mentally challenged, twitchy-eyed middle child; Biff and Chip are the oldest kids (they are conjoined twins); and Beth is the youngest child (she has a giant growth on the top of her head).

A lot of great cartoon shows have been unfairly cut short over the years. "Sonic the Hedgehog" and "Duckman" both ended on cliff-hangers; "Earthworm Jim" and "The Critic" mysteriously disappeared after only 23 episodes each; and who knows why "The Tick" was canceled so fast. But "The Oblongs" actually deserved it's cancellation.

Now I'm not some kind of whiny, nit-picky, uptight, every-cartoon-has-to-be-clean-and-politically-correct type of guy who hates certain cartoon shows just for being adult-oriented. I'll have you know that I'm a big fan of "The Simpsons"; "Futurama"; "Beavis and Butt-Head"; "King of the Hill"; "Aqua Teen Hunger Force"; "The Venture Bros." etc., and I already mentioned "Duckman" and "The Critic" when I was talking about great cartoon shows that were canceled too soon. I didn't hate "The Oblongs" because it was vulgar and pushed the envelope, I hated it because it was stupid, unsettling, and poorly-written. All of the deformed characters are very grotesquely designed, and they really just weren't that funny.

If you want to see a good adult-oriented animated sitcom, then watch "The Simpsons", "King of the Hill", or "Futurama". If you want to see a good adult cartoon that pushes the envelope a little, then watch "South Park", "Beavis and Butt-Head", or even "Family Guy". "The Oblongs" is just bad. Not awful, but very bad.

Space Jam (1996)

A movie-length commercial and nothing more.

"Space Jam" is an animation/live-action hybrid starring NBA superstar Michael Jordan and the greatest cartoon characters of all time, the Looney Tunes.

The plot of the movie is: Mister Swackhammer wants a new attraction for his alien theme park "Moron Mountain". He chooses the Looney Tunes, and sends his minions the nerdlucks to earth so they can capture them. The nerdlucks change into giant monsters and kick the Looney Tunes's butts in basketball, so Bugs Bunny and the gang find Michael Jordan to help them.

Due to Michael Jordan's HUGE popularity in the '90s, there was obviously a lot of hype surrounding this movie when it came out back in 1996, but just because it has big names doesn't mean it's a good movie, and that is the case with "Space Jam". This movie is pretty much an insult to Looney Tunes and the Looney Tunes fans. For one thing this movie introduces Lola Bunny. A pointless character whose only purpose in the franchise is to give Bugs a love interest. Also instead of the physical comedy and battles of wits that made these characters famous, we get overly violent, crude and mean-spirited humor.

Other flaws include Jordan's uninspired and overall boring acting performance, the obnoxious and irritating characters that are the nerdlucks, and for the film being just a giant advertisement for Michael Jordan and all of his sponsors.

The only good things about this movie are the animation and the voice acting, which are both outstanding, and there a few mildly funny jokes here and there, but overall this movie sucks.

Not recommended for hard-core Looney Tunes fans, or people who have been exposed to some actually well made animated movies. If you want to see a good animation/live-action hybrid film, just watch "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" instead, or this film's sequel "Looney Tunes: Back in Action". This movie is just bland and one-dimensional.

Tom and Jerry: The Movie (1992)

A complete disgrace to the classic cartoon shorts.

I'm a big fan of golden-age cartoons. Some of my favorites include Looney Tunes, Mickey Mouse, Popeye, Woody Woodpecker, Droopy, Donald Duck, Silly Symphonies, Felix the Cat and of course... Tom & Jerry! Tom & Jerry are among the greatest cartoons ever. The original shorts are hilarious, and always fun and enjoyable. So a Tom & Jerry movie seems like a good idea doesn't it? Well sadly, the result was terrible.

This movie starts out like a regular Tom & Jerry short, but then we are introduced to a dog named Pugsy and his flea who are best friends despite being creatures that usually hate each other. These two teach the famous cat and mouse to be friends. Then..... THEY START TALKING! And singing. This just isn't right for Tom & Jerry. The only time they would talk in the original shorts is if it was for comic effect, and the only time they'd sing would be for a joke too. In this awful movie they talk like they've been doing it their whole life. Plus their voices are really bad. Tom has a New York accent, but when he would rarely talk in the shorts he had no accent. Jerry sounds like a little kid, but in the shorts, on the rare occasions where he'd sing or speak he had a typical high-pitched rodent voice.

Later they meet an orphan girl named Robyn who is searching for her father who is believed to be dead by most people. Tom and Jerry decide to help her and then the movie pretty much forgets it's purpose, and instead focuses on Robyn rather than Tom and Jerry.

The only good things about this movie are the animation, the opening sequence and the end. All of which are in the spirit of the classic shorts. But as for the bad aspects of this movie, I don't even know where to begin.

For one thing there are those cheesy, forgettable, dumb musical numbers. It's like this movie was just trying too hard to compete with Disney so they had to make it a musical. But unlike Disney's musicals, the songs in this movie are dreadful. Most of them are either just unnecessary, like "What Do We Care (The Alley Cats Song)". Or have the most cheesy, cringe-inducing, and stupid lyrics, like "(Money is Such) A Beautiful Word".

As I've already mentioned... TOM AND JERRY TALK!!! And that's just not right.

And another thing, this movie isn't even much of a Tom & Jerry movie at all. It has very few slapstick gags, it has the Cat and Mouse being best friends, and it's more focused on an orphan girl finding her father than on Tom & Jerry and their crazy antics.

Too many unnecessary scenes that barely affect the plot. Like when Tom and Jerry have to live with Dr. Applecheek. That scene only goes on for about 5 minutes, and the only thing that affects the plot is Applecheek himself. And the only good thing to come out of that scene is Droopy's cameo. Another useless scene is when Tom meets those Alleycats and they start to sing. It's pointless, their song sucks, and it doesn't affect anything.

Also where are the ACTUAL Tom & Jery characters? Where's Quacker, or Spike, or Tyke, or Butch, or Nibbles, or Toodles, or Lightning, or Topsy, or Cuckoo, or Meathead? What happened to them?

"Tom & Jerry: The Movie" is a cheap Disney knock-off that has NOTHING to do with the classic Tom & Jerry shorts. It not only has no continuity to the shorts, but it also is a complete disgrace to them, and insults their fans. And please don't use the dumb "It's a kids movie" excuse on me. I know for a fact by seeing the works of Disney and Pixar that family movies CAN be good, and enjoyable for everyone. And "Tom & Jerry: The Movie" isn't any good, nor is it enjoyable by adults or Tom & Jerry fans of any age for that matter.

It's a terrible movie. I suggest just avoiding it and watching the shorts instead.

The Mad Doctor (1933)

A dark, but very entertaining Mickey Mouse cartoon.

"The Mad Doctor" was considered by many to be very dark for a Disney short. The character of the Mad Doctor is quite creepy himself, and him trying to kill Mickey with a saw truly shows his evilness. But I'm not saying all of this is bad. This is actually part of why I love this short so much.

Now I am a HUGE fan of golden-age cartoon shorts. And of course, some of the best of these classic cartoons come from Disney. I truly think "The Mad Doctor" is one of the best Mickey Mouse cartoons. It's dark, spooky and kind of eerie, but that just adds to how great this short really is. It's in black and white of course, since color wasn't very common in 1933, but the animation in this short is fantastic. Like other classic Mickey shorts, this one has a very rubbery feel to the animation, and that was really cool. The animation is just done so perfectly in this short, I can't find a single fault in it.

The plot of this short is about Pluto being captured by an evil doctor who plans to attach Pluto's head to the body of a chicken. Mickey goes to the scary castle to rescue Pluto.

Even the story of this short is kind of dark. Still, Ithis was a great cartoon. Sure it may frighten small children, but at least it has a happy ending.

"The Mad Doctor" is one of the best classic Mickey Mouse cartoons. It's dark, spooky, eerie, and kind of creepy, but it has great animation, an original, well-written story, and is very fun and enjoyable to watch.

Wallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers (1993)

Amazing. The best Wallace and Gromit short.

I'm a big fan of Aardman Studio. Their shorts are easily the greatest stop-motion animations of all time. And my favorite characters of theirs are Wallace and Gromit! "The Wrong Trousers" is the 2nd Wallace and Gromit short, and also the best.

The story is: Wallace creates a giant robotic pair of trousers which he gives to Gromit for his birthday. Later on a penguin comes in. The penguin seems nice and cute when Wallace is around, but he's actually a criminal, and is planning to steal a diamond with the help of Wallace's mechanical trousers.

"The Wrong Trousers" is truly an animated masterpiece. The animation is vastly superior to that of this short's predecessor "A Grand Day Out". The evil penguin, Feathers McGraw is actually quite creepy, and yet he doesn't say a word. The story is actually much better and more clever than the first one, which also had a creative story, but this one is still much better. Also the humor displayed in this short is hilarious.

If you've never seen "The Wrong Trousers" I highly suggest you to do so. It's truly a masterpiece in animation, and not only is it the best Aardman production, the best Wallace and Gromit short, or the best thing Nick Park ever directed, but it's also one of the best animated shorts, period. It would easily be in the top 5.

It's clever, funny, exciting, and highly enjoyable. The voice acting by Peter Sallis as Wallace, is great. The animation is amazing, and there isn't a dull moment in the whole short. "The Wrong Trousers" is just amazing. I can't put it any other way. Amazing is the best word to describe this wonderful clay-animated short film.

The Problem Solverz (2011–2013)

Probably the worst animated TV show ever.

I've seen many bad cartoon shows. "Fanboy and Chum Chum"; "Sonic X"; "Captain Planet"; "Johnny Test"; "All Grown Up!"; "Ren & Stimpy: Adult Party Cartoon"; "The Buzz on Maggie"; "Yo Yogi"; and "Mad" to name a few. But none of them even come close to the atrocity that is "The Problem Solverz".

The show is about three guys who solve problems. Horace is their bland, one-dimensional, flat, uninteresting, boring leader. Roba is the annoying, ugly, brains of the team. And Alfe is meant to be the comic relief, but instead is just annoying.

The characters aren't the only bad thing about the show. There's also the terrible animation. Everything is way too bright and colorful, the character designs are hideous, and the movements look like puppets. Not that I hate puppetry, I just don't think cartoons should move like that.

Also the show is just boring. The plots are weak, the writing is bland, and the whole show is just uninteresting.

Overall I can't find a redeeming factor about "The Problem Solverz". The animation is ugly, the characters are uninteresting, the writing isn't funny at all, the voice performances are laughable, and it's just a bad show. I can't find a good thing about this show. It's a pain to sit through, and Cartoon Network should've never picked it up. I can't believe this show even aired one episode. It's just awful. I don't recommend anyone to watch it unless you enjoy watching crappy, uninspired, badly-animated, unfunny garbage.

What's Opera, Doc? (1957)

Not only one of the best Bugs Bunny cartoons, but one of the greatest cartoons ever.

"What's Opera Doc?" is considered by most animation fans as the greatest Bugs Bunny cartoon. Some also say it's the best cartoon short of all time. Chuck Jones has always been my favorite Looney is definitely one of the greatest cartoon directors of all time. He gave us so many classics, and this is truly Chuck at his best.

You've all most likely seen this short before. It's set-up like an opera. Elmer Fudd singing "Kill the wabbit!" is probably one of the most memorable scenes in cartoon history. And we all remember when Bugs was dressed like a woman and Elmer actually fell for him. This short is classic Bugs Bunny stuff, but the opera setting made it even better.

Like I said earlier, this is perhaps Chuck Jones's best work. The animation looks great, like it always does, the dialog is hilarious, and so are the actions. This short is a classic. It's one of the most memorable, unforgettable cartoons ever. Not only is it one of the best Bugs Bunny shorts, or one of Chuck Jones's best shorts, or one of the best cartoons of the '50s, but also one of the greatest cartoons of all time. It's a classic.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988)

Possibly the greatest animated movie of all time.

"Who Framed Roger Rabbit" is definitely a classic. It was the first movie to be a complete mix of live-action and animation, and it did it perfectly. Anyway, the story of the movie is: Eddie Valiant (Bob Hoskins) takes pictures of Roger Rabbit's wife Jessica playing patty-cake with another man. Roger is very sad to find this out, and the very next day, Marvin Acme, the man Jessica played patty-cake with, is murdered, and the cartoon rabbit is framed for the crime. Everyone is after Roger, including the evil, 'toon-hating Judge Doom (Christopher Lloyd).

This movie was not only one of the most original movies at the time, it was also one of the best. It perfectly blends live-action with animation, the plot is very good and original, the voice acting and the live acting is great, and the movie is very funny. When I was little I loved this movie, and now that I'm older, I probably love it even more than I did. Partly because I now understand all of the adult humor in the movie, and because I can now truly appreciate how this movie was so revolutionary, and original for 1988.

Another great thing about this movie is how many different cartoon characters from different studios are all seen on the same screen. Like on the scene where Daffy Duck and Donald Duck are seeing dueling pianos, or when Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny are actually seen together talking when Eddie is falling, or on the ending when we see many different cartoon characters together including Bambi, Pinocchio, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Woody Woodpecker, Bugs Bunny, Donald Duck, Daffy Duck, Yosemite Sam, and many others.

Well, I'd say "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" is one of the top 5 greatest animated movies ever, and I'd say it is the best movie of the '80s, and it's easily the best live-action / animation hybrid of all time. I love everything about this movie. It truly is a masterpiece. It's funny, original, clever, and just plain awesome. Not only is it great to see so many classic cartoon characters in one movie, but even this movie's own characters like Roger, Jessica, and Baby Herman are great. I love this movie.

Sonic X (2003–2006)

A terrible cartoon show. One of the worst cartoons of all time.

The first Sonic show was just in the middle. Not that bad, but not that great. The second one was amazing, but was sadly canceled before the plots could be resolved. The third one was bad, but not the worst ever. But the fourth, and so far final Sonic cartoon, an anime called "Sonic X" is just terrible. Now before you say that I've never given the show a chance, I'll have you know I watched nearly every episode. And almost every single one was painful to sit through.

The first episode started out pretty good. It had a cool action scene, and did a good job explaining why Sonic and friends are on Earth in the Sonic Adventure games. The voice acting was terrible though, but it was a decent way to start off the series. But when Chris Thorndyke was introduced, the show went downhill from there. Chris is an annoying, spot-light-hogging, Sonic-obsessed, cry-baby, rich 12-year-old boy who is voiced by Veronica Taylor, who also voiced Ash Ketchum in the early seasons of "Pokemon". Chris keeps Sonic as his little pet and cries whenever Sonic leaves for something important. Here is a list of things wrong with this show, excluding Chris since I already mentioned him:

-Bland writing. The SatAM sonic series had great writing, but this show's writing is either boring, stupid, or rushed. Almost every episode is extremely predictable. For example: Chris, Tails, or Amy gets kidnapped by Robotnik, he makes this really big, really powerful robot, Sonic beats it in a few seconds and saves Chris, Tails, or Amy. Also there's the really stupid filler episodes, the badly executed remakes of "Sonic Adventure"; "Sonic Adventure 2" and "Sonic Battle", and the lame, outer-space episodes of season 3.

• Horrible voice acting. These voice performances are worse than the ones in the Sonic movie from 1999. Sonic sounds bored and emotionless; Knuckles sounds too loud and gravely; Tails sounds like a little girl; Robotnik sounds nothing like the menacing, evil and threatening Doctor he was in the SatAM show; Rouge sounds like she's in her 50s; Amy sounds even more obnoxious and irritating than she does in the games; and new characters like Bokkun, Decoe and Bocoe have really annoying voices. And sadly these guys started voicing the characters on the games in 2005, but luckily were fired in 2010.

• That annoying theme song. Some people will say it was cool or catchy, but it was really just annoying. It was fast-paced, obnoxious, and just plain stupid. Sonic SatAM had a good theme song, this show didn't.

• Too many humans. I know I already mentioned Chris, but there's more than him. there's his grandpa Chuck, who is a complete rip-off of Sonic's uncle Chuck. His butler, his parents, his maid. Chris shouldn't have been the main character. This is "Sonic X", not "Chris X".

• Out of character. Too many characters just aren't their-selves. Sonic is lazy and sleeps all the time; Robotnik (or "Eggman" as he is called in this show and the recent Sonic games) is just a big goof-ball who hates Sonic. He practically is the same way he was in Adventures of Sonic; Amy is her old self only for some reason they make it where Sonic actually likes her, which is way out of his character, since he just thought she was annoying in the games.

Overall this show sucks. It is definitely one of the top 15 worst animated TV shows of all time. Sonic SatAM is an actually good Sonic cartoon. I suggest watching that over this pile of crap.

Sonic Underground (1999)

Some episodes were okay, but for the most part this show was either boring, predictable, or stupid.

"Sonic Underground" is the last Sonic cartoon to be produced by DIC Entertainment. And it was definitely the most farthest away from the Sonic games of any of the Sonic shows. What I mean by that is. "Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog" was somewhat close to the games. It had a similar story, but everything was surreal and very Felix the Cat like. The second one "Sonic the Hedgehog" or "Sonic SatAM" was close to the games, but it made the story bigger, more complex, more interesting and it most likely took place after the games due to Robotnik being ruler of Mobius. The next one was a direct-to-video movie that was very close to the games, except the fact that it got some names wrong, like Planet Mobius being instead called Planet Freedom. But "Sonic Underground" has barely anything to do with the original Sonic story-line. For some reason now Sonic is a prince and has a brother and sister. Which is very weird if you ask me. Also the only familiar characters in the show are Sonic, Robotnik, Uncle Chuck, and Knuckles. Tails is gone, Sally's gone, Snively's gone, Antoine's gone, Bunnie's gone, Rotor's gone, Dulcy's gone, King Acorn's gone, Naugus's gone. And this version of Robotnik is really quite boring. The Robotnik in the Sonic games was an evil, goofy-looking, scientist bent on ruling Mobius. In Sonic SatAM and the Sonic comics he was the same, only more sinister, creepy-looking, menacing, and evil. In this one he has a very bad voice actor who doesn't even come close to the wonderful job Jim Cummings did in Sonic SatAM, and also his personality here is just boring.

Sonic's brother and sister are BOTH voiced by Jaleel White, and he is good as Sonic and Manic, but he sounds WAY too much like Steve Urkel for Sonia. There are plenty of voice actresses out there that could've done better than Jaleel White did as Sonia. There's Kath Soucie, Nancy Cartwright, Tress MacNeile, E.G. Daily, Candi Milo, Carolyn Lawrence, Christine Cavanaugh, and many more. I just don't understand why he had to play her too. And plus she is very annoying. She cares only only about her hair, her clothes, and her looks, and that all makes her a very annoying character. Also the story of them being separated from their mother is just..... not Sonic. And I still hate the idea of Sonic being a prince. However despite my complaints there are a few good things about the show:

• While the lyrics were stupid, the songs they sang were actually kinda catchy.

• The animation was very well-done. It looks better than it did in the previous Sonc cartoons.

• I liked Robotnik's henchman Sleet and Dingo. They weren't as good as Snively, but they were a lot better than Scratch and Grounder.

• Some episodes were really good. I really enjoyed "Getting to Know You"; "Wedding Bell Blues"; "To Catch a Queen"; and "A Hedgehog's Home is Her Castle".

Overall this show isn't that good, but it does have some good points. I think instead of this they should've done a sequel to Sonic SatAM, which was in fact Ben Hurst's original plan for this show. Still this show was overall a disappointment, and was actually kind of an annoying show.

Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie (1996)

It's okay, but it could've been a lot better.

"Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie" is a direct-to-video anime film released by ADV films in 1999. It's actually not a movie though. It's really two failed Sonic anime pilots put together to make a 60 minute movie. While this movie is very close to the Sonic games, it's really not as good as the previous Sonic cartoon, a short-lived animated TV series on ABC simply titled "Sonic the Hedgehog". I believe that show is one of the greatest cartoons of all time. So of course it's gonna be pretty hard to live up to that show. And even though this movie is okay, I truly think it could've been so much better. Here are my problems with the film:

• Terrible voice acting. Sonic sounds like Fanboy from the terrible CGI Nicktoon "Fanboy and Chum Chum", Tails sounds like he has a cold, and Robotnik sounds like an ordinary, generic villain. Not only are the voices annoying, but the voice actors just don't show any effort in doing good voices. It's like they're trying to be annoying. The ABC Sonic show had a superb voice cast with stars like Jaleel White, Kath Soucie, Jim Cummings, Rob Paulsen and Tim Curry.

• Weird characters. Some of the new-to-this-movie characters are just plain weird. Like that human girl Sara. Why does she have cat ears and a cat tail? I did like the old man Owl though.

Overall this movie is decent. It has a lot of funny moments, I love how the animation looks like the cut-scenes in "Sonic CD" and the story was pretty good. It has nothing on Sonic SatAM, but it's an okay movie.

Sonic the Hedgehog (1993–1994)

This is a HUGE improvement over the first Sonic cartoon.

"Sonic the Hedgehog" (or "Sonic SatAM" as it was nick-named due to it airing on Saturday mornings) was the second animated series based on Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog video games. And like the previous Sonic show this one was also produced by DIC Entertainment, and also featured Jaleel White (Steve Urkel from "Family Matters") as the voice of Sonic. But unlike that show, this one had an actual continuing story, an actually menacing version of Dr. Robotnik, and was also more serious, darker, and dramatic. But this type of show suits Sonic much better if you ask me. This show follows the same story of the video game series, but there are new Freedom Fighters like Princess Sally Acorn, Antoine Depardieu, Bunnie Rabbot, Rotor, and starting in season 2: Dulcy. Also there is now a king of Mobius (voiced by Tim Curry), Sonic now has a super-smart, robotic genius uncle, Dr. Robotnik has a nephew named Snively, and in this show Robotnik has already taken over Mobius, so it's kind of a sequel to the games.

This show was just great. It leaves the first Sonic toon (Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog) in the dust. SatAM had stories that were very well written, and very interesting. The writers on this show obviously put a lot of effort and work into this show. There were the exciting action-filled scenes, the sad scenes, and the funny scenes. Also this show had an excellent voice cast. With Jaleel White ("Family Matters") as Sonic, Kath Soucie ("Rugrats"; "Dexter's Laboratory") as Sally, Jim Cummings ("The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh"; "Goof Troop"; "Darkwing Duck"; "The Lion King"; "Aladdin"; "The Powerpuff Girls") as Dr. Robotnik, Charlie Adler ("Rocko's Modern Life"; "Tiny Toon Adventures"; "Cow and Chicken"; "Aaahh!!! Real Monsters"; "The Smurfs"; "Beavis and Butt-Head") as Snively, Rob Paulsen ("Animaniacs"; "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"; "The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius"; "Goof Troop"; "The Tick"; "Pinky and the Brain"; "The Fairly OddParents") as Antoine, Christine Cavanaugh ("Rugrats"; "The Critic"; "Babe"; "Dexter's Laboratory"; "Darkwing Duck"; "Aaahh!!! Real Monsters") as Bunnie, and Cree Summer ("Inspector Gadget"; "Tiny Toon Adventures"; "Rugrats"; "Drawn Together") as Dulcy. These very talented voice actors and voice actresses brought a lot of life into the characters.

Sadly this show was canceled on a cliff-hanger. The final episode of season 2 wasn't supposed to be the ending. They left it on a cliff-hanger to get people excited over season 3. But when the new ABC president came in 1994 he said he didn't like the show, and thought it wasn't good competition for Fox's "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers". So he canceled it. And we never got to see Tails as a full-fledged Freedom Fighter, what Snively would do when he was in control, who those red, sinister pair of eyes belonged to (writer Ben Hurst said they were Naugus's eyes), what happened to Robotnik (Hurst said he got sucked into The Void), or see the citizens of Mobotropolis turn back into animals, and the planet Mobius return to it's former beautiful and peaceful state.

Well Sonic SatAM is just a fantastic show. It had great characters, superb voice acting, and excellent writing. Too bad the plots were never resolved. Still, it's easily the best animated video game adaptation to date, and honestly, one of the only good ones.

The Rugrats Movie (1998)

A decent film, but it has flaws.

Taking place immediately after the "Rugrats" episode "The Family Tree" where Didi finds out she's pregnant. "The Rugrats Movie" is when Tommy's new sibling is finally born. The Rugrats are very excited about Tommy's new sister, but when the baby is finally born, it's a boy. Baby Dil practically does nothing, but cry, scream, and poop. Tommy thinks he can take him back to the hospital in exchange for a new baby brother, but soon they all get lost in the woods. This is their first time in actual danger, not just their imaginations.

This is certainly not the best story for a movie, but it is okay. Baby Dil, however is very annoying. More-so in the later episodes of the show than this movie, because he constantly interrupts their adventures and makes every episode about baby-sitting Dil.

While "The Rugrats Movie" is a decent film, it has flaws.

• It's starts the downfall of a once great cartoon show.

• Like in "Pokémon: The First Movie" this film tries a little bit too hard to be darker and more dramatic than the TV show it's based on.

• There are WAY too many jokes about poop, pee and other such gross things. I'm fine with crude humor when it's in small doses (like on "Rocko's Modern Life"), or when it's actually made funny (like on "The Ren & Stimpy Show"). But this movie (and the later episodes of the show) just over-do it.

There are good things too though.

• I loved the opening sequence of the film.

• The animation is great, and perfect for the big screen.

• The voice acting is top-notch.

• Some parts were really funny. Like when they spoofed "Indiana Jones".

Overall this is a decent and mildly entertaining film. But it's certainly not one of the greatest animated movies ever. There are better movies of animated TV shows ("The Simpsons Movie"; "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie"; "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm"), but there are also worse ones ("Aqua Teen Hunger Force: Colon Film for Theaters"; "Pokémon: The First Movie"). Funny, nicely animated, good voice acting, but a little bit too much potty jokes, and it added a horrible character to a great TV show.

The Legend of Zelda (1989)

By far the worst animated video game adaptation of all time.

I'm a big fan of Nintendo's classic series of adventure video games "The Legend of Zedla". And when I heard that they did a cartoon series about it, I'll admit I was actually really wanting to see it. But when I finally looked it up on YouTube, I was greatly disappointed. This show was just cheesy, campy, annoying, badly scripted, dull and overall terrible. Here is a short list of things that are wrong with this show:

1. Link - In the games Link was meant to be a heroic, brave, and strong hero who would do whatever it takes to protect Princess Zelda and The Kingdom of Hyrule. In this show he is a cocky, smart-Alec, stubborn jerk who only does these things so he can get Zelda to kiss him. Plus he has an annoying catchphrase of "Excuuuuse ME, Princess!" which he says constantly in almost every single episode. I have no problem with catchphrases, but Link takes his annoying catchphrase way too far.

2. Bad plots - The episode plots are too dull and uninteresting. The games had great, well-thought-out, original, and epic story-lines, but in this show we get Link turning into a frog, The King of Hyrule building a water park, and Zelda falling for another guy. This show would have been much better if it had a story-arc, or a more serious and dark setting.

3. Spryte - Spryte has gotta be one of the most annoying characters in cartoon history. She's obnoxious, has an irritating, squeaky, high-pitched voice, and fails to do a good job at what she is meant for: comic relief. Her jokes are cheesy and terribly unfunny.

4. It's just plain dull - The worst thing about this show by far is how dull and effortless it is. You can tell the writers and directors didn't care if it was a good show or not. Because this show is repetitive, dull and boring. It's not interesting or exciting in any way, the action scenes are short, predictable and boring, the stories (as I already mentioned) are cliché, and not very Zelda-like, and the comedy portions of the show aren't funny in any way.

This show was just awful. It was unfaithful to the games, it was predictable, dull, boring, uninteresting, annoying, and just stupid. "The Legend of Zelda" is one of the worst cartoons of all time, which is ironic as the Zelda games are some of the greatest video games of all time.

The Tick (1994–1997)

One of the best cartoon shows to date. Very few have managed to be as good as this one.

Yes I really mean all of that. "The Tick" has gotta be one of the greatest cartoons ever! Based on Bed Edlund's comic book series of the same name, "The Tick" follows a dumb superhero called The Tick, and his timid sidekick Arthur who protect The City from evil villains. One of these villains is named Chairface Chippendale and his face is (as his name suggests) a chair! Another is Uncle Creamy (voiced by Bobcat Goldthwait) who is an evil living ice cream cone. And there's an evil baker named The Breadmaster. Despite only having 3 seasons and 36 episodes, The Tick has gained a huge cult-following by the people who watched the series on Fox in the '90s.

This show was brilliant. Not only do we have a villain with a chair for a face, a city called "The City", but The Tick's battle-cry is "SPOON!". The writers on this show sure knew how to make one hilarious cartoon. The villains were odd, The Tick was a moron, and the stories were complete parodies of the superhero genre. Why this show was ended so soon I still don't understand. I LOVE this show, and lots of other people did (and still do) too, so why was it ended after only 3 seasons? I guess we'll never know.

"The Tick" was one of the best shows of Fox's sadly extinct Saturday morning and weekday afternoon block "Fox Kids". Truly one of the greatest cartoons ever, with hilarious characters, brilliant writing, great animation, excellent voice acting, and a really cool jazz theme song. Definitely one of the top 10 greatest cartoon shows of all time.

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (2004)

Truly hilarious. A must-see for any SpongeBob fan.

In this theatrical animated film based on Nickelodeon's mega-hit animated TV show "SpongeBob SquarePants", SpongeBob wants to be the manager of the new Krusty Krab 2. But when Mr. Krabs gives the job to Squidward, SpongeBob gets very sad and depressed. Meanwhile, Mr. Krabs's rival Plankton steals King Neptune's crown and frames Mr. Kabs for the crime. Neptune freezes Mr. Krabs, and if SpongeBob and Patrick don't return the crown within 6 days Neptune will kill Mr. Krabs.

This movie was (if you ask me) the best movie based on a Nicktoon. It truly captures the greatness of the show "SpongeBob SquarePants" and delivers some of the funniest Patrick Star moments yet. I loved the ending scene where SpongeBob sang "Goofy Goober Rock", a parody of Twisted Sister's "I Wanna Rock". And David Hasslehoff's guest appearance was very humorous. The animation was superb, the voice actors were as great as they were on the show, and the script was hilarious. I actually almost cried when I first watched this film. The scene where SpongeBob and Patrick were getting dried up was very sad.

Overall, I highly recommend this film. Not just to SpongeBob fans, but to anyone with a good sense of humor. Truly an excellent movie, and the last SpongeBob project with Stephen Hillenburg and the original crew working on it.

SpongeBob SquarePants (1999– )

One of the greatest animated TV shows of all time, but only the first three seasons.

1999, many great cartoon shows premiered that year. Like "Ed, Edd n Eddy"; "Courage the Cowardly Dog"; "Futurama", and of course a certain sea-sponge who lives in a pineapple and works at a fast food restaurant. Stephen Hillenburg's "SpongeBob SquarePants" which aired on Nickelodeon and is still running to this day.

At the time SpongeBob was the best Nicktoon since "Ren & Stimpy", or "Rocko's Modern Life". It was a great show. It was brilliantly written (with some subtle adult humor), had hilarious characters, great voice acting, and it was just always fun to watch. Some scenes like the Sweet Victory song on "Band Geeks" or the crazy guy screaming "CHOCOLATE!" on "Chocolate with Nuts" have become some of the most memorable, and greatest moments in cartoon history. But in 2004 after "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie" came out, It seemed that the show was over. Now this was sad news, but later that year Nickelodeon decided to revive SpongeBob. It seemed like a good idea, except the fact the Stephen wasn't gonna be working on it anymore. And by the time season 4 started in 2005, things started going downhill. Some episodes were still decent, but the jokes weren't as clever, or as funny as they were when Stephen Hillenburg was directing the show. But by 2007 the show just became border-line stupid. The jokes became gross, unoriginal, and unfunny, and the character personalities became too overly exaggerated.

SpongeBob used to be a character that was kind-hearted, happy all the time, naive, and optimistic, all of which aggravated his grouchy neighbor Squidward, but he was still good friends with everyone else. Now he's a giant cry-baby, who is a complete idiot (he never was too bright in the first place, but it's ridiculous now) and he's so obnoxious that he annoys everyone around him. Mr. Krabs was once a money-loving cheapskate, and they kept this, but now he's so greedy that he's a complete monster. At least in the early seasons he was funny, now he's a jerk and is entirely unlikeable. SpongeBob's best friend Patrick Star was dim-witted and dumb, and had some of the best lines in the show. Now he's still dumb, and some of his lines are still funny, but he's become so stupid that sometimes he's kind of annoying (just like how SpongeBob is now). Sandy Cheeks is now rarely used, and Plankton is now too over-used. SpongeBob has declined hugely in terms of humor, creativity, and quality. Now I know the obsessive SpongeBob fans won't admit this, but if you compare the old version of SpongeBob to the new, you'd see a big difference and it's obvious which version is better. There's still occasionally a good episode, but nowadays that is very rare for this show.

I still love SpongeBob though, and the memory of the show's good years keeps me (and other classic SpongeBob fans) from hating the show, but one of these two things REALLY needs to happen:

1. Stephen Hillenburg and all the original writers return and save the show

OR...

2. Nickelodeon just cancel the show already.

But overall "SpongeBob SquarePants" is a great show. It's funny and full of great and memorable characters. I just wish the newer seasons could be as good as the older ones.
