The Saint (2017)
Good Action
This film is filled with action, and not many many well known actors and actresses. We like the fairly clean language, and Adam Rayner's portrayal of Simon Templar. The thing about this film is that there are some scenes that are rather funny. Mixed in with the action, it does a good mix. At least the males are not portrayed as know-nothings, while the women are still seen as far too aggressive. - Daniel J. Tyler
Ben Gleib: Neurotic Gangster (2016)
Funny and hilarious
Ben Gleib is extremely funny in his Santa Barbara stand up special. Normally, we do not even come close to these comic specials, but Ben Gleib
(along with Mo Mandel and Demetri Martin) are among the funniest / and most talented comics. Ben lets loose on everything from sexual relations, racism, women, and his own personal experiences growing up. He even attacks some fans in the front row seats in a hilarious manner that needs to seen over again (and again). Ben does his comic shorts while not really insulting anyone, but instead by telling the truth about the facts of life - especially having sex (with women). He barely touches "gays" that much, but uses them as a reference on how they get away with much of their personal choices. Ben, you are funny! - Daniel James Tyler (WaltersJudsonGroup)
Andrew Santino: Home Field Advantage (2017)
zero stars, and nothing funny
Honestly, we do not know where Andrew came from (he says he is from "chicago", Ill.) but as a stand up comic, he needs plenty of schooling. Maybe he can get advice from Ben Gleib or even Mo Mandel, but his comic antics just STINK.
Being a stand up comic, one thing you do not do - and that is trash the less fortunate, males in general, and people that live in the streets. If you are a guy, and you trash your gender, well, that speaks volumes of yourself. Trashing the homeless is outright antagonizing and reflects pure hate for the less fortunate. Get some therapy Andrew, or go to school to learn how to make people laugh - not throw up.
Daniel James Tyler (The WaltersJudsonGroup).
Mo Mandel: Negative Reinforcement (2016)
Lots of profanity
Mo Mandel's "Negative Reinforcement" has a lot of profanity. As a rule, The WaltersJudsonGroup, nor I, as it's director review these type comedy stand ups, but as a promise to one of members of the Group, I did it for him as he passed last month. Mo Mandel (not his original name) does this special from Denver Colorado, and certainly made me laugh a few times even though his profanity-laced program is very stinging at times.
I give 7 stars because how Mandel told the truth about a few things in life, but what he said about racism in Texas - well, that won the prize.
We have 1 associate that is from Texas (born and raised), and he told us some pretty nightmarish things about the state. Unfortunately, it is all true. They are not very many good things to say about "Texas" (but they cook up some great fattening food!) - but Mo Mandel's "negative" reinforcement tells it all. The only really annoying thing about this stand-up comedy skit (about 1 hour long) is that he mentions several things too many times (that he is 33 years, and some guy had "no aids".. well it seemed too repetitive) - but the Texas skit was enormously true.. and funny in a sort of way.. Mo, to you from me:
stay single (women are not apple of everyone's eye) try to get positive about a few things, and lighten up a little about the negatives. Not recommended for children or young teens - DJT
Code: Debugging the Gender Gap (2015)
Calling the kettle black
It is amazing how these individuals in "film" making - get the fire to make such discrimination. They say they are trying to "make people more diverse in the science field" (for example). Isn't that trying to find ways to overlook advanced individuals with potential and replacing them with someone less intelligent solely of the basis of gender and "color"? "Color"?? We are all human beings first in this world. Here, at our Private Institute, we have associates from all over the world. Half our staff is from the UK, Argentina, Switzerland and Spain. Women have almost never applied to our institute because of our requirement of the amount of time we need you to put into your job. We allow vacations or for a disability, but that is all. Women show little interest in our job offerings. Gender sometimes CHOOSES to keep away from some work fields - because they are NOT interested. Being human beings will always be number one this us. It should be. Why should you care
if you are woman or a man, or black or yellow to show interest
in a job? Blood has no nationality. It never has. The biggest film makers continue to fill films with plots of "woman are smart, men are dumb" syndrome. How many films we seen in the past 20 years where females beat up on males? And, oh..but that's OK right? The current trend of television is seeing how the females is in command, and all smart, and males are idiots and think cave dwellers? Even the Academy Awards are now giving their awards to "minorities" so the Oscars will not look so "racist" or "sexist"- when those so-called winning films deserve nothing.
The current trend - we avoid here at the WaltersJudsonGroup. And this "Documentary" is nothing but propaganda against individuals that actually merit their own discoveries and findings. This Documentary "in trying to make this right" - have gone so far up their hind, they are back to the beginning - where all discrimination begin.
Can't Buy My Love (2017)
Too predictable, too traditional
My, when we were given to preview this film a on 3, March, 2017, we thought it was a HALLMARK film. Turn out to be a PixL Film. The film is OK, if you are 100 years old, and will be able to predict everything about the outcome. This film would have been a lot better if the people that created it would stop this boy / girl love story that has no mystery in it (if you're going to make a film like this, at least keep us guessing, as anyone with half-a-brain can see where the plot is going.. especially in this film!)
We sat and predicted everything that would happen in the film about 10
to 15 minutes into the plot.
The movie starts with many beautiful scenes of Los Angeles, and then goes into the man is dumb and the girl is smart routine which is the POPULAR these days (but sexist)- and goes into the boring old plot. We were surprised they did not include the Muscular woman beating up a guy - but this is a PG film with no violence which is a good thing. ... We liked the clean language and the non-violence that most films ignore today. We encourage film makers to make films more acceptable to all viewers -and profanity and so much violence should be curtailed.
There are 2 sub- plots entwined into the film, and where two men get on their knee giving out a ring (OMG, how boorish - this is 2017 not 1017)
Then the film goes into the rich handsome guy-falls in love with tough pretty girl routine. She rejects him, and then they get back together again after "forgiving" their ways. OK. It is just that this plot routine is getting too old, too boring, and far to predictable. Geez, Can't you producers and writers be more creative??? One of our associates, here at the WaltersJudsonGroup actually Fell Asleep half way into the movie!
Anyone giving this film "10 stars" has be employed by the studio, have brain damage, is on drugs, or has no education on film reviewing. Also, reviewers can be bought. 3 stars for effort, and clean language. DJT
Teleios (2017)
Very slow, but intriguing
We were given a preview of Teleios via a German port, and at first, it was rather slow, and dull. But as we continued to watch, the concept of the film got interesting and intriguing.
In 2015, science on earth can modify human embryos..and this film continues that after 2020 they are commercialized. On 2038, the film states that enhanced humans have been conceived. This film starts in 2047 (just like the film "The Event Horizon").. they send a crew of genetically engineered human beings to investigate what happened to a ship that was to bring back a cargo from Titan (Saturn's largest natural satellite)
The crew of the ship that never returned has evidence that they were killed by their own people. This film makes the viewer believe that it will go by the mass insanity plot - but it does not quite do this
The genetically modified crew find a survivor that does not talk, and when their investigation begins, the plot takes a sharp curve to the doings on earth, their genetic engineering, the cargo and a 'artificial person' that remained on board. Near past the mid point, the film's plot goes awry, with entire rescue crew left in balance of life or death. We liked it.
Don't Worry Baby (2015)
Interesting and meaningful Film
"Don't Worry Baby" is a good rare film. We liked what we saw. It deals with family issues and personal matters that do not happen very often. The Lang Family owns a small school for preschoolers, and is run by a husband-wife dual (Miriam Lang and Robert Lang). They have a twenty- something son - Robert Lang which the story focuses on. On April of the prior year, Robert has sex with a girl (Sara Beth), "a quickie" as they say these days, but unknowing to Robert - so does his father Harry - but with the same girl (Sara Beth). She turns up 4 years later with a little girl, and she believes it belongs to Harry, but Robert remembers also, so he might be the father. In the 10 days they wait for the final results the film circles around the personalities and family situations around these characters, including Robert's extremely liberal roommate "Lenny". It is a good film because it shows us that we can be civilized even when confronting uncomfortable family situations that normally do not occur. Even the film ending is good. The acting is good, and we liked seeing new actors like John Magaro (whom plays the character of Robert Lang)that are not seen often on the big screen. The music, especially the song "Water and Wine" in the ending is pretty song. We even included it on our new Love Lives Forever Series Book for 2017. The Film was made in 2015, but generally released on 2016. The Film is rated R, and does mention the F word only about twice in the film.
Passengers (2016)
In Space No One Can Smell You Stink
When watching this film by myself and several of my Associates at the WaltersJudsonGroup, we desperately wanted it to end. Such a waste of valuable time lost to view garbage. A Ship headed with thousands of passengers to another planet, and a "malfunction" occurs only to open one of the cubicles of one of the passengers - Jim Preston (Chris Pratt) and after awhile, he becomes "lonely" and sees another passenger (Aurora Lane) played by Jennifer Lawrence, and he awakens per pod. You can guess the rest - a "romance in space" between both of them. A child can come up with a better plot. No thank you. The acting is fine, but the entire story just stinks! 1 Star
Dark Matter (2015)
Insulting to males..
After being asked to review this science fiction TV Series - 'Dark Matter' - I had a 'dark' feeling we were going to be disappointed. We weren't - we were appalled. This science fiction series has six members that lose their memories (or had them wiped clean) and wake up to chaos in a spaceship headed to nowhere.
The 4 males should be wearing dresses, as the 2 women, and a "android" female are all superior to the men, and beat anyone up like Rambo did back in the 80s. The females rule in power, strength, and are the presumed "leaders". The males are all brawn and no brain. The females beating up on guesting starring guys on the episodes is normal,
even kicking them in their privates. There is no single male on the series with any wisdom or knowledge above any female. One actor, Marc Bendavid, all handsome, with model looks is frequently referred to as 'pretty boy" or "pretty face". The men can't seem to solve any problems, like the women so, and are constantly shown as simpletons.
Its no wonder TV ratings are so low these days - who would watch any TV series that make men act like cave dwellers or a bunch of sissies? But let me say this: If any television would berate women, and scenes where women would be punched in their "pride"...or even make women scream if they saw a mouse - this show would never get past production. But men? "hey.. its 2016.. men are wimps these days, and women are all Rambo-hyped studs.."
If your are Lesbian, you would like this show. If you are a gay man - forget it, male homosexuality is never mentioned (in other words - you don't exist)... If you are an average "straight" man - forget it... unless you like to see women to take command of all the men....Garbage like this probably will not get what it deserves - Cancelled.
The Day After Tomorrow (2004)
A good film..
Roland Emmerich has never been really given much credit for making films, but this film is pretty good. The special effects are decent to great, and the story line is very good. Many people have written bad reviews about this film, and up to this day, I don't know why. Global warming is a real problem, and an ICE AGE is a possibility. We at the Walters Judson Group don't like too many films after the year 2000, but we have this film highly rated. This film has human interaction, well defined characters, a problem with global warming (and its consequences), and the acting is pretty good. We give it a "9". Also, some people believe that this is "science fiction" - it is not. Anything is possible this day and age. Daniel Tyler.
Ghostbusters (2016)
Vomitus
My God, are film makers getting so bad, or are they high on drugs when producing plots? This vomitus film, is so bad, it earn No Stars From our Film Masters reviews. So bad is this film, you wonder if film makers are being "brainwashed" to hate people.
I do not believe in making a film to target men, women, "gays", blacks, whites, or any other form of human being, but if you truly hate males.. this is your film.
Empty jokes, bad characterizations of characters.. even bad writing. I will say this: If this film was a film designed to hate blacks or gays or even women - it would have never been released. Watching bad Adam Sandler films is much better that this unfunny, hate-filled vomitus "film".
Having bad diarrhea comes close to compare it to.
Independence Day: Resurgence (2016)
Worst than the Original
If you believe that you are an intelligent individual with a good sense of finding a film enjoyable, this film will give you nausea. It seems that just a pile of scenes were spliced together, without even giving an idea what is happening, and then thrown at the audience with such dismay, you will feel insulted.
The original was bad enough, with "the president" flying to save the world as being so "realistic"... and this "film" does the same thing. Have I.Q's just fallen so drastically, that no one can make a decent film - especially science fiction - so we can even have an idea what is going on? Watching my Parrot is more entertaining that this heap of waste.
Hollywood: Go back to school, so just maybe you can
make a Good Science Fiction film, like
1979's "Alien"...
Independents' Day (2016)
People are confused about this film
It seems that all the "bad" reviews here are due to people not understanding this film at all. This is mock film about the "Independence Day" films.. and was done because of the "new"
upcoming Independece day coming out on June (24)th of 2016.
The film was lots of negatives, but in all its "errors" it is clean - has few, if any obscene language, and does send a message of the big "if" question: are these invaders helping or or they evil? It does have low and high points, but we liked it.. and it has actors that are fairly new to films (its good to see new faces, instead of the same actors one sees in science fiction films). This film is better for a younger audience (as an older, more educated audience will know where it is headed).
Daredevil (2015)
Season 1 was great, Season 2: Garbage
This is my second summary, the first one was blocked for no reason at all.
Season One 2015: of Daredevil was great 8 out of 10. Season Two 2016: Garbage. This series was totally ruined by the producers by adding a "daredevil woman" on episode 5 to 13. Ruined.
Now, we all know when Charlie Cox is in trouble, his new girlfriend that jumps and hops around like a grasshopper will rescue him. No thank you. Garbage. We won't watch anymore episodes.
I personally do not know if this review (summary) will be uploaded because it seems this IMDb site is now judging what you write. It warned me that I was 'shouting' - sorry sirs, I do not shout. Go to Russia...
Unleashing Mr. Darcy (2016)
Good Film
This was an entertaining film. We especially liked Ryan Paevey (currently starring in North American Serial "General Hospital") for his role as Donovan Darcy.
We can understand why the the character of Elizabeth Scott is not very "friendly" with people of great wealth as she has been fired by those that control the private school she taught at (Weston High School)..
But it is obvious she has interest in Donovan Darcy, but not his mannerisms..and his great wealth.
We especially gave this film a high rating, because, even though this world is not anything close to the sugar and spice we would like to be, at least we can entertain ourselves with never hearing profanities, obscenities, and other degrading words that are not needed to send a message of love, or dislike..(but then, of course, this IS a HALLMARK FILM)...
P.S. Your Cat Is Dead! (2002)
Can be Entertaining
Can the worst of enemies become friends? It will make you wonder after seeing this film. Jimmy (Steve Guttenberg)has the worst day of life - getting fired, losing his girlfriend, and finding his apartment ransacked (again), only after a heated argument with his soon-to-be ex, he finds the burglar that ransacked his apartment - twice in a month - hiding under his bed..
In his zeal of capturing "Eddie" - his "gay" burglar as it turns out, Jimmy plans to torture him..during the impending New Year celebration, only to find that things just do not go this way.. And Jimmy finds himself in hotter water.. all with a twist near the end as He (Jimmy) sees something in himself that may have a future..
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
Not for Superman fans
People wonder why and how this movies get "high ratings" or "great reviews" - If Hollywood studios can spend hundreds of millions of dollars on any sub par, garbage-led film, they can surely spend a few thousand bucks making up "good reviews"... This film is Not for Superman fans - as a matter a fact - it is totally Anti-Superman. It was written by obvious "batman" followers. Batman has NEVER HAD SUPER POWERS - yet producers continue to make films where he wins almost all the time - he "defeats" Superman here (really? Well, I guess Superman MUST BE DEAD..).
There is no Superman vs. Batman in this film - okay maybe a minute or 3? (out of 150 minutes?) - Otherwise, this film was produced to trash the Man of Steel, and make him look like the Man of puddy. A Paper Tiger - the mind of idiot - Nothing. These Hollywood producers seem to want to make films from a piece-of-garbage of a "bat" man that has No special powers, except for an overly-active anal burst of foul air.
Hollywood: Get over it. Just go and get that measuring stick, and let the stupidity end..your bat man has always been impotent.
Nice Package (2016)
Its Not the Package
Strange funny (or unfunny) film. We liked Dwayne Cameron's role of "Frosty". Strange as it is, 4 of us managed to see the film in its entirety. Dwayne Cameron is very talented - not only as an actor but a writer, producer, director, artist, and painter (if you read up on him).. and he is only 35 year old (at the time of this writing).
Even though this film will never win any awards for its bad writing or poor directing, it does keep an audience wondering what is in the "package" - which in the end - it is NOT the contents of the package that counts but the paper it wrapped in.. also, the ending comes to enlighten us that this whole package ride was only a A TEST...
Lucifer (2016)
Entertaining but misleading
This television series is entertaining, and full of intrigue, yet it is misleading. Tom Ellis is almost perfect for the part of Azazel (fallen angel) since the "beast" out of Revelation 13 is British, yet will have roots in Israel. Though, this character that Tom Ellis portrays has been written by misleading writers. Yes, I know that some of this series is supposed to be "funny", but the Devil is not in Hell - he is busy trying to send people TOO HELL.. That is his goal. Also, the devil does not care about solving crime, though, he may meddle in it so that the wrong people get sent of the river so-to-speak. This show is interesting, yet the writers need to give the show more depth, as it is already serialized. Also, in this show Tom Ellis, aka, "the devil" is surrounded by beautiful women, and he seems to want to have sex with all of them.. but the real devil likes his sex violent, and he will have sex WITH ANYONE.. not just 'beautiful women'.. I gave this how an 8, as it has the potential to grow with plots. As a spiritual person I am, most of my colleagues thought I was nuts giving this show any high ratings whatsoever..
Godzilla (2014)
Hard to Judge a film in the dark
Godzilla 2014, probably is a film with, at most, a rating of 4 to 6, or a "fair" rating. Most Everything about the film is OK to sub-par, but this film is mostly made in the dark. How can we see any action when most, but not all, is in darkness? The acting is poor to fair. The Title "GODZILLA" leaves much to be desired, as Godzilla is only seen for a total of 19 minutes in a film that is 123 minutes long. And some of those 19 minutes is in the dark or only seen by his scales.
Most of the film is gutted with people, soldiers, scientists, a "Bomb" and children. If Godzilla was a real entity, He would file a lawsuit for using his name in a TITLE when he is almost an invisible fixture on the wall.
Daniel James Tyler, The WaltersJudsonGroup
Ted 2 (2015)
Pure Garbage
People giving this film a 8 or 10 or even 7 amazing me to no end. They must have an IQ of less than 50 for them to love a film where a filthy mouth "teddy bear" is supposed to funny?
If you think this film is great, and you think repeating the F word over and over again is brilliant writing, with a paper thin plot, than that speaks volumes of where you come from.
Come to think of it. It you live in the sewers all your life, the smell will not bother you anymore...since you are used to smelling the filth that you have absorbed - then this film would be "great".. Just like the places you have been dwelling most of your life...
Fantastic Four (2015)
A Total Dud
This film is not based on the "fantastic four" of the comic books - it is more based on "X men" - so everything or mostly everything is irrelevant to the ORIGINAL Fantastic Four. The Film starts slow.. too slow...
The action, characters, acting, and directing is very sub par. This entire film does not make much sense. The first two films were decent to sub decent. But this "reboot" (as if we need to know how they become "super heroes") is just boring. Not worth seeing, or even renting.
This film should have been titled by another name .. like "Fantastic X men", even though, one character is female. We will not be carrying this film on our Film Libraries (with good, or "bad" reasons)..
Audacity (2015)
Religious propaganda and misinformation
This 55 minute film is composed of complete religious propaganda and misinformation. Repeately, an "interviewer" quotes from the NT Bible that mentions "homosexuals" - and the New Testament never even mentions that word. The word "homosexual" was planted in the bible roughly about 70 years ago to condemn people and to satisfy the "bible scholars" hate against people that are "gay". Personally, at the WJGroup, we do not believe in "gay marriage" but certainly any human being that wishes to cleave to his own gender to form some kind of everlasting union is to be respected. There should never be room for any discrimination. God certainly does not discriminate - as all Souls are equal in His eyes. God does not even care about human sexuality, just what you do with it. People that cling to "religion" so to display their hate for others need to remember that when Jesus Christ came to this world, he mingled and accepted anyone that followed him, and He never said anything negative about "gay people".
Johnny Mnemonic (1995)
Pretty Good Film, but has errors
"Johnny Mnemonic" has its moments. It is actually pretty good. It received terrible reviews, mainly for moving too far away from original story, and film critics just hated it. Its funny at times, with comments like calling Johnny "Just Johnny" (by character "spider" played by Henry Rollins)after Johnny (Keanu Reeves)says his name is just Johnny. The data-carrying story is near OK, and the action pace is great. The film does have errors though - some pretty big ones. The writing is not very good. The year is supposed to be 2021, yet J-bone (Ice-T) tells his viewers to get all their "VCRs" ready.. VCRS? Really? In the year 2021? Nope. Also When Johnny is telling the Pharmakon underground that when the Data is transferred into head he tells them "you will fax a copy to Newark" FAX? There are no Faxes in the year 2021. The writers were using 1990s terminally. Otherwise, the film is okay, especially the action and special effects. The Japanese version is longer with more footage of actor Takeshi Kitano (character of Takahashi)as he is very popular in Japan. The Killer, (character Shinji) of the Yakusa Japanese mafia does a great job with his skills (or lack of "english" skills)....
