Oppenheimer (2023)
No plot, Einstein and the bomb is better
I preferred the documentary Einstein and the Bomb. Dialogue was much better. Einstein is also a far more interesting character than Oppenheimer.
I found the film long and overworked. Really it was 30 minutes too long. What were they even debating about in the end I have no idea because it was not really made clear. Security clearances. What precisely was the impact of not having them. Didn't really get the significance.
If you know already the story which I did then thats really all there is to it. I can imagine why it got lots of Oscars because it's set in American and talks a lot about politics which they love.
Nuovo Olimpo (2023)
Good but hard to beleive
I enjoyed the film and of course its always great to see a city as beautiful as Rome depicted in film, however I really struggled with the possibility that these two lovers, if they meant so much to each other, as the story makes us want to believe, that they could be parted for so many years and not bump into each other for so many years. Especially as they both had a common location where they met. I used to live in Rome, its not a huge city. I understand they had their separate lives etc, but if you want me to believe they meant so much to each other, this kind of spoilt it for me, because my feeling is if they wanted to each other they would have hung out at the locations they had been together.
Merlí. Sapere Aude (2019)
Outstanding... especially season 2.
Having watched season one and enjoyed it, I felt season 2 would be similar. But this is actually outstanding this season. The acting, the storyline, the emotions, several episodes in this season have been incredible. The soundtrack too is very special and especially the closing piece to this episode.
Congratulations to the writers, directors produces etc for telling this emotional story and thanks to Carlos Cuevas for taking this on. One can't quite believe when you enter episode 2 what to expect but its handled with real honesty and beauty. Now one of my favourite all time shows I will recommend on so many levels.
Merlí. Sapere Aude: Vida normal (2021)

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
Fabulous series!
I didn't understand its intelligence the first time I watched it, then I watched it again and all the details came through. Beautiful work, well done to all involved! So many great characters with a lot of character development. Totally invested in what's going to happen next.
With the LOTR films there were times when the stories started slowly and you had to be patient, im glad they repeated the pacing here as the world building really happens in those scenes. I'm a little bit worried about where they will film in season two if they don't plan to film in New Zealand but in the UK. Yes we have beautiful scenery in the Uk too. Looking forwards to see where they go with this!
Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022)
Really nicely done
Just look at the great score this has received. I was doubtful but they made a great job here and respectful of the ot and pt. Loved it. Ewan was great. Final episode was epic and what I especially liked was the way they could have easily stretched it out to 8 or 10 episodes but they didn't.
The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 7: In the Name of Honor (2022)
The Marvel formula is not for Star Wars
The scenes with Luke in this season proves what the fans want. Theres no need to bring all the Star wars characters together like they do in Marvel films to have an epic conclusion.
The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 6: From the Desert Comes a Stranger (2022)
Luke
I see the point now. Its to ensure we never ever miss a single episode of any Star Wars series, no matter what the theme of the series is. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Epic!
Encanto (2021)
Too little care taken to translate this into Spanish
Watching this with Spanish speakers with a Spanish voiceover the translations were very poor considering the film is about a Spanish speaking family in Columbia. .
Schitt$ Creek (2015)
Roses do not bloom hurriedly, like any masterpiece, they take time to blossom
Wonderful comedy series, once you know the characters you are willing to watch continuously and repeat episodes, this is a classic series. Watching the entire series for a second time. Familiar and fantastic. Love David and Alexis, Moira too! Noah Reids album "Genesis" is also great.
Explota Explota (2020)
Fun and enjoyable
A nice fun little musical with cute people and crazy plot.
Peter Rabbit (2018)
Offensive nonsense unrelated to Peter Rabbit books
Nothing to do with anything related to Peter Rabbit. Beatrix would hate this nonsense. What happens when Americans get hold of something they don't understand.
Chef's Diaries: Scotland (2019)
Great Documentary film
A great story of the wonders of Scottish food and drink.
The Money Pit (1986)
Hilarious!
A classic Family comedy for the 80's. Always love watching it. You know all the things that happen after a few watches but it never gets dull with Tom Hanks's amazing facial expressions.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
TROS is Magnificent especially C3PO
So much speculation, makes you realise never before in history has a film been so anticipated and analyzed before it was even shown. I watched a lot of videos on you tube anticipating what might be presented. It was much much better than I was expecting after TLJ. Abrams had a tough challenge. But the result was the best of all three sequels. Loved it.
Tales of the City (2019)
Lovely warm reunion of great characters
What was great about this is that some really important issues have been raised in a sensitive and realistic way. Very well done. Now its time to revisit the original 3 series.
