Deyaler Desh (2024)
Didn't get the hype
This could easily be a 15 minute YouTube video/short film on OTT. Boring storytelling, lousy editing with no attention to details.
1. There's a flashback scene where the two leads meet for the first time. The scene is happening in 2012 with metro rail ad in the background, seriously? Didn't they put any thoughts while choosing location?
2. Right after that there's scene with Bubly and Raj are talking to each other. But their lips don't move while talking as if they didn't shoot the scene for it and when they did the recording it was too late.
3. Raj takes out a sari he bought for the Bubly out of a shopping bag of a "shoe store".
In 2024 filmmakers are getting praised for such half baked content, wow!
Faraaz (2022)
Not Bollywood's story to tell...
I am surprised to see what a lame & lousy treatment this horrific incident has been given. 22 innocent people (natives and foreigners) lost their lives and mr director left no stone unturned to capitalise on it. Hansal Mehta didn't even have the permission from the victims' families to use their real identities and portray made up stories about what happened to their kids on screen. Also, from the first scene it shows what a superficial idea the makers have about terrorists.
My question is, how is this bs getting international recognition while a film about Holey Artisan incident made in Bangladesh by Bangladeshi director, crew and cast facing difficulties to even release it?
The Office (2005)
Glad that I got through season 1
I attempted to watch season 1 a couple of times and I always lost interest a few episodes later. I know many who did the same. Please do yourself a favour and watch till S9 E23.
I see my life as if it's divided in two phases- life before the office & life after it. It certainly changed my life and my equations with people in my life.
Feels Like Ishq (2021)
Feels Like Cringe!
"Where did I see it before?" I tried really hard to remember. "I definitely have watched this movie before!" But how was it possible? It just released this morning. I started digging into my memory & realized "Feels Like Ishq" is just every other Bollywood rom-com. The characters are just replicated versions of Geet-Aditya (Jab We Met), Naina-Aman (Kal Ho Na Ho), Raj-Simran (DDLJ), Akash-Shalini (Dil Chahta Hai) all those iconic characters that Bollywood produced over the years.
Overall, Feels like Ishq contains 6 bad stories with even worse dialogues & acting! One more time, Bollywood/Netflix India doesn't cease to disappoint.
Sunflower (2021)
Annoying AF
Couldn't stand more than 3 episodes. What is it? What is it being praised for?
Mismatched (2020)
Netflix india will continue to disappoint you
Slow, bland, boring, things just happen without context. In the 6 episodes, there was not a single aspect that I could appreciate. Funny part, the series revolves around some teenagers who joined a "summer course" aspired to be app developers , and the character Dimple was wearing sweatshirt the whole time. 🙄
Ginny Weds Sunny (2020)
The only good aspect...
Yes. The story is bad. So bad that the actors would not be able to save it with brilliant performance. So I guess they chose to be mediocre.
2 for the song Rubaru, the only good thing about this movie.
Zindagi Gulzar Hai (2012)
Romanticising Misogyny
Slow. Uninteresting. No depth. Promotes patriarchal mentality. Can't believe this show was telecast in 2013 on popular media.
