3rd Rock from the Sun (1996–2001)
i loved this show!
24 December 2004
i totally loved this show!

instead of all the other sci-fi- or fantasy-centered sitcoms (like for example sabrina) this one didn't rely on heavy special effects. instead, the "alien" feeling came through the actors performance. it was exaggerated, sure, but in a very VERY good way. my favorite episodes where the ones where harry turned into a transmitter. in one of the last episodes he transmits an alien-award show and you can see him dance on behalf of the ballet. when you look closely you can even see kristen johnston (sally) nearly fall out of character. it was so hilarious, you could see her biting the insides of her cheeks not to start laughing and ruining the scene. and my favorite dialog was her asking dick "why am i the woman"-"because you lost".

great.

didn't like it...

Warning: Spoilers
warning, there might be spoilers in this...

who cares...

i liked Pitch Black a lot, and i don't like this one. I'm mean, is it even the same universe the story is set in? is it even the same universe the first- and the second half of the movie where the story is set in?

the biggest flaw in this movie are without a doubt the so called necromongers. whenever you see them on screen, you know it's gonna be bad. the scenes on crematoria where good (why didn't the whole movie take place there? THAT would have been a sequel to pb), even though i didn't get the point of the "feeding time" monsters i laughed when riddick turned them into pets. (it reminded me a bit of lethal weapon 3, but why ;) )

anyhow, i guess it is a nice rental, and when you see a necromancer you can go and grab a beer, have a tinkle or something.

i'll rate it 4/10

Cast Away (2000)
great fed ex commercial
1 May 2004
i think this one is nothing more than a fedex commercial.

although, the premise is good, a modern guy, stranded on a deserted island, trying to fight for his life (with A LOT of help from fedex, of course), while at home he is babling about how great his company is....

i mean... c'mon... next time i want to see a movie powered by ups.

Hannibal (2001)
better then the book
25 April 2004
i just finished reading the book, curiosly most of the time it is the other way around, but this time i like the movie A LOT more then the novell. even though in the end it had a very suprising (shocking, whatever) twist, which was written out of this flic, because Jodie Foster didn't like it. and i can see why.

and, what's more important: dr. lecters character was creepier the way he was before i read the book. he was mysterious, well educated, a canibal, and this time they wrote too much background into it. you know, his traumatic childhood n stuff. i didn't wanted to know!!! i liketo stay puzzled! anyhow, nice work mr. harris, but don't try to milk a cow too hard.

scooby and shaggy still separated from the gang?
3 April 2004
i didn't get the thing why shaggy and scooby still had to be separated from the rest of the gang. i mean... fred and the girls were always in action, while shag and scoob were just goofing around. i like matthew lillard a lot, this guy is funny. (he adlibbed most of the best lines in scream.) but that shouldn't be any reason to reduce him to a comical sidekick.

Was guckst du?! (2001–2005)
nice, but too short
20 March 2004
i like the show.

but is too dawn short.

i guess it would be hard for kaya to keep up the quality if he is forced to bring the double amount of jokes every week, but anyhow, i am really really depressed when the commercials are kicking in and i already know that there will be only one more sketch left.

anyhow. it is nice! if you haven't seen it, watch this jewel of inter-cultural humor.

i was disappointed
10 March 2004
i was kind of disappointed when i watched the movie, because i expected to see another "Hackers" inspired style- or maybe some conspirancy-theory-movie like The X-Files.

but instead i got a drug-addict drama. okay, okay, maybe the hacking scenes where realistic, but that's only one positive aspect. and i also missed Clifford Stoll, and his hunt for Markus Hess aka Urmel. Where were those characters? they were pivotal in catching Hagbard.

I am sorry. But this is not a good movie.

beautiful game, really
25 February 2004
i really loved this game. actually my only reason why i bought it, was because it was the only game capable of running under Linux in the store. but when it got home i was impressed! the backgrounds were absolutely beautiful, the sound was great. anyhow, it took very long to complete one level (almost a week for the bigger maps).

and what can i say about the story? nothing, actually. it is very complex, i mean you take on 4 sides at last in the campaign mode. and because the levels are so huge, you have a lot of trouble following it.

anyhow, if you like role playing games, you might as well like this strategy-game.
