Safe Haven (I) (2013)
Using the notebook to promote trash
24 February 2013
When i first saw that this film was connected to the Notebook i thought well it cant be that cheesy. The notebook was a really good romance. Even people who watch Romances usually say the same thing. But Safe Haven is another Slap together movie, with an all too familiar story we have all seen many times. There are no shocks, twists, or turns. Just a Plod along story with no real reason to care about any of the characters. We have no real build up as to why the heroine does what she does, although the movie wants you to think that. The justifications for how the plot thickens are laughable at best. Even the setting is so rehashed, i could name a handful of movies that are all shot under the trees and and same small East coast town. If your looking for another Notebook worthy experience than keep looking. Safe Haven is a story that you have seen, or read about a thousand times. Nothing new here. Its a safe bet to pass along.

great film
23 October 2012
This script driven film was a tasty treat. The premise is simple and the delivery is great. The subtle build up to the climax is a engaging slow burner that had me smiling all the way through. Stripped of flashy set pieces and loads of special effects, the story was delivered in a fashionable pace that left me smiling at the end. What could have been a cheesy film was left fresh by the great acting and quirky script, with just enough drama, to keep the show rolling. It goes to show with a great script, one can produce a enjoyable film without spending millions of dollars. Is the main character crazy and in need of a mental hospital, or is he really going to do what he says?

Inbred (2011)

Boring with great kill scenes
19 October 2012
Being a fan of those movies that detail the clashes of culture, the backwoods inbred tortuous heathens vs the clean cut/city folk on vacation who always just fall right into the hands of their captors, i was right away interested to see this film. The story is a rehash of most of these type of movies. As the movie approached the half an hour mark i was starting to get bored, and once the "meat" of the movie began, it turned silly and predictable. One thing the film does have going for it are some exceptionally great kill scenes. In fact once the killing started i found myself fast forwarding to the next one, and on till the end. If the director had put more energy into the story and made me care if these people were well you know "taken care of inbred style" then it would of made for a better experience. All in all its the same ol same ol, with some great gore. I gotta give it a 5.

thanks for reading my first review!

kept me watching both viewings made....artistic and impressive

Warning: Spoilers
I had really no idea what i was in for when i watched this film. I found it freshly artistic, dark and humorous, and the build up to what most certainly was a surprise at the end was worth the time. It is a VERY subtle build, but you know it is there weaving itself ever so slowly. All the actors and actresses were great. It was interesting to delve into the mind of a frustrated teenage girl. And witness the events that helped to shape the disturbed part of her psyche. The main actress was amazing at playing the ugly teenager, who resembled to me the caveman from the insurance commercials. And then to see her all done up flip side during other scenes which i will not mention because i am not a spoiler. Grab some popcorn and enjoy.
