Uncut Gems (2019)
Couldn't watch it past an hour
This movie is so horribly bad. As I watched, I kept thinking it has to get better but it only got worse, so I stopped watching after a wasted hour. I can't imagine how this movie got any good ratings. It's not that the acting was bad (it was fair) but the movie itself is simply junk. They threw in a tremendous amount of vulgarity and some celebrity types to try to fool the viewers into believing it was a worthy movie. What a total wasted hour.

Potential Turns to Cheap Rubbish
We chose this movie based on the glowing online reviews. The first real sign of trouble with this movie came when the pathetic excuse of an FBI agent (played by Elisabeth Olsen) opens the door on a grieving Mother in the act of committing suicide. And what is the FBI agent's reaction upon seeing the attempt? She shuts the door and walks away - making no attempt whatsoever to stop the suicide attempt, or to inform the others present, so they could stop it. So, think about it - the FBI agent and other cops are there to investigate a case where someone has already died, and in the process they have an opportunity to save the life of the grieving Mother, but choose not to intervene so they could continue trying to solve the underlying case. Then, the scene where the FBI agent fills some trailer-park trash guy full of holes, after he attacks them for no apparent reason - other than to add some excitement to an otherwise dreadfully boring movie. Nevertheless, we stayed fairly interested in this disaster of a movie to the point where the dozen or so opposing cops all drew their guns at the oil drilling site. That was one of the stupidest and most over played nonsensical scenes I've ever seen. How could an intelligent person take this movie seriously after that? Anyone who stuck with the movie after that ridiculous scene, at least got to witness all these morons needlessly shooting each other to death as the villain ran off. I can't believe I paid to see this rubbish. After it was over, the only ones we cared about were the three starving mountain lions that had somehow escaped slaughter by all the gun-happy imbeciles. With all the dead bodies left in the snow, they hopefully kept fed for the remainder of the winter.
Sekai saigo no hibi (2011)
What a pathetic disgrace
The marketing summary, and fairly high number of IMDb stars, for this movie enticed us to rent it. But we could only watch about an hour of it before realizing what a horrible waste of time it was. It's seemed like a good idea for a movie - a kid bored with life, suddenly starts receiving information that the world will end soon, from a weird little incarnation of God. He then takes action to accomplish some things that he will soon not be able to. I'm just trying to put in the minimum of ten lines required by IMDb folks, because this "movie" (not worthy of such a title) is certainly not worth more than a few words - like rubbish, waste, pathetic, etc. It's unfortunate that I can not give it less than a full star!
The Da Vinci Code (2006)
It's a HORROR flick because it is a HORRIBLE movie!
I finally watched it tonight, and in my 5 decades of movie watching I gotta tell you this movie is insultingly horrible. Why? Because it is one stupid piece of nonsense after another piece of stupid nonsense, ad infinitum. And oh, is it boring! It doesn't give the viewer a chance to recover from one stupid thing before another is thrown at them just for good measure.
I did NOT read the book, and am glad I did not. Because if it is anything like the movie (as some reviewers have stated), then it must me one lousy book.
If I were held down and threatened with being forced to watch Sarah Palin for an hour, I would grudgingly admit that there was some good camera work, and some clever movie-shot techniques. But that's about as far as I could take it! Bad Bad Bad! Stupid-Bad!
