"With great power comes great responsibility."
21 June 2023
The first thing that comes to my mind is how I miss Spider-Man. He was one of my childhood heroes and the movie brought me back to my childhood days. Yes, there are several films about him, but this time we're watching a different story and I absolutely loved these non-traditional characters.

Except for the story, the visuals, soundtrack, characters, animation, and technical details, all of them are amazing. It is visually stunning.

We all can be heroes, the power is there, with us, this is the main idea behind the movie.

"Spider-Man: Into the Spicer-Verse" captures your attention. There are so many things I could talk about, but overall, it is creative, funny, engaging, and exciting.

Spotlight (I) (2015)

Brave and so real!
19 June 2023
Spotlight tooks on a very heavy subject, and give us back in a strong and in a emotional core. The film is a very real and simple. But, while it is a very slow-paced film, it didn't leave me bored for a second, instead catch me with excellent performances, amazing story-telling, and it's beautifully balanced screenplay.

The film does a good job not only focusing only on the main characters, but also spends time focusing on the supporting characters, and all them feel so realistic. All the acting flows like poetry, all the details have been thought through very carefully and you can notice the very hard work.

The film shows the importance of freedom of the press one more time. Knowing that all the story is real, knowing all happened a while ago, knocks you down. You feel so proud of the real journalists who made this story a success at the same time, and you appreciate them for not giving up.

For me, Spotlight is a brave film that does wonders with a difficult subject. It have a great story, and the film tells us this story in wonderful way. It's slow but at the same time very realistic, fluent and extraordinary.

1917 (2019)

Breathtaking
19 June 2023
First of all, "1917" is a visual and technical achievement. It was a stunning watch from start to finish. It has one of the most incredible camera work I've ever seen. Roger Deakins' cinematography is once again breathtaking. Using a single shot or showing it as a single shot adds a very realistic flavor to the film, we were always there. Also, the sound editing/mixing, visual effects and production design are all outstanding.

The film is one of the deep, impressive, and realistic way to see what happened in WWI. It will catch you at the beginning and not let you go, and be sure that there is no pleasure in watching it. There is no joy, and there is no peace during WWI and the movie reflects it all. It shows the horrors and brutality of war, the importance of duty, and the meaning of sacrifice... You continue to feel tense throughout the movie. Feeling glad that these days are over, but places and situations of nowadays constantly come to your mind. The harsh realities of war are hitting your face again and again. The story always goes on and the movie strikes a fair balance between war and humanity.

The amount of effort put into this movie deserves your attendance. I'm not a big fan of war movies because I usually end up feeling miserable since I empathize too much. But I'm glad I watched "1917". This isn't just one of the best war movies of all time, it's truly one of the best pieces of film to ever grace the big screen. "1917" will leave you breathless and in tears when the journey comes to an end.

Never Have I Ever (2020–2023)

Great storyline and humor.
18 June 2023
Just finished watching the last seaon of "Never Have I Ever" on Netflix.

Honestly, I have started it because I wanted to watch something fun, I did not have high hopes, but, this show turned out so much more than that and I am glad that it did, it was a delightful experience. I really connected with Devi and her whole family. It was sweet and funny! I'll miss them. The best teen show I've seen in a while.

It was a lovely journey, gave me good times, and I am very glad that I watched it. The series has a great storyline and humor. Also, the detail of John McEnroe, the 'inner voice' of Devi, was so good.

Masterpiece of CGI
18 June 2023
It's been a long, long wait, and James Cameron finally released the highly anticipated, ambitious, and visual masterpiece Avatar.

This movie has the best CGI works I have seen in recent movies. The visuals are outstanding. Underwater sequences and the fight scenes felt very real.

But, I think the movie is too long, if you cut 30-40 mins of such parts, you will still not miss anything in the storyline.

Overall, it's a good movie if you want to see some cool 3D and hyper-realistic animation, visually and effects-wise, it's perfect. But, I was just expecting more of the same with this sequel. For me, it's good, but not great.

Coco (I) (2017)

Spectacular, one of the best of its kind!
18 June 2023
"Coco" is a great movie, a must-see movie. It has one of the deepest storyline in an animated movie that I have ever seen. A movie about what family means, a movie about the choices we make, and it is a true fantasy adventure about life and death.

The story is set around the Mexican Day of the Dead. The colors are so vibrant and the atmosphere is great. There is so much gorgeous detailing in the backgrounds. The designs and movements are spectacular. It definitely deserved the Oscar for Best Animated Feature, no doubt. The songs are really catchy, and the vocal-Performances are on the top as well.

It will move you from happiness to tears, while I laughed a lot, I also found myself weeping in the film's final scene. "Coco" is definitely the type of animated movie that you need to take the time to sit down and watch.

Excellent!
18 June 2023
There's so much to say about this movie but it left me speechless at the end.

Sounding is amazing and the cinematography is very beautiful, in particular in the scenes of wide landscapes. Visually, it is stunning, I loved the skillful cinematography and shots and the scenery was amazing.

Daniel Day-Lewis is so hypnotic, he is giving a flawless performance. Especially in the end, he pulled the story in such a chilling side. Paul Dano is also very good. He gave a great acting performance as well. There Will Be Blood has a deep character sketch, the characters are so strong and so complex.

Besides all of these, the movie is a great critique of the American dream of success and capitalism.

Milk (I) (2008)

"It's about making a statement."
18 June 2023
Bio-Drama is based on the political rise of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man elected to public office, but it is much more than that. Dreams and goals are our biggest weapon, they are source of success. And it's never too late to start.

Sean Penn gives one of the best male performances for sure. He captures so realistically what many other actors in the past have done with real-life people.

Harvey Milk was a bold, brave man, who deserves to be remembered as such. This film give a big justice to Harvey Milk's memory and what he stood for. The movie is also a reminder of just how ridiculous and closed-minded the establishment was years ago.

Well Written, Dark, Funny, Mysterious!
24 March 2020
From the beginning to the end the twists quite surprisingly. I never lost my attention because I never knew what was going to happen next. The chemistry between Christina Appplegate and Linda Cardelllini was so good, it was a real pleasure to watch them.

Roma (2018)
9/10
Touched, simple, deep and powerful.
25 February 2019
Roma is one of the most beautiful films of 2018. This is such a simple story but the way that it is told, just stunning.

The cinematography was stunning. Directing, editing and actings were so good. Cuarón is a fantastic director and he did a phenomenal job. Every scene is so well detailed and so captivating. Right from the opening shot, every shot is masterfully executed, framed and detailed.

But for me the most impressive thing about film is that it all just feels so real. Roma is a true life story, it's all about life, the simpleness, the unexpected misery and the joy that you can get of simple things. That is the word I would use to describe this film, real.

Thank you Alfonso Cuarón for this beautiful masterpiece and for having given us such a wonder of a cinematographic experience.

I really love the idea
25 February 2019
It was an different experience and it feels like something completely new. I really love the overall idea. The graphics and music were great, but for me I felt like it didn't actually give me much of a choice. Could have been so much better.
