Ahsoka (2023)
Lightsabers mean NOTHING...
It's quite obvious that Sabine won't die and that she is fundamental to the rest of the series, so why stab her with a lightsaber? Why do you have to continue deprecating lightsabers!?
I hate the fact that for decades lightsabers were these amazing, elegant, deadly signature weapons, by which you would die if stabbed or at least lose an important part of your body, now, since Disney took over, they stand for nothing more than liminous pocket knifes.
Got stabbed? No worries! You get to live forever and we'll fix you in the blink of an eye! No permanent damage, no consequences, you won't even be in pain during recovery! Qui-Gon can only imagine...
It's ridiculous, such poor writing, you could have saved her in so many ways, but no, you had to go for the cheapest, easiest way of ending the episode, just for her to be alive and painless in less than 15 seconds after the auto play feature kicks in.
You wrote a series where at least five of your main characters carry lightsabers, it's their primary weapon and the one thing that should strike fear in their opponents, so, now what? Nobody ever dies? I don't see Disney beheading anyone on this show, so, how will you justify some from dying and others from living?
Lastly, I get it, lightsaber battles are tough, Ewan and Hayden trained for months, even years just to get a couple of scenes right, but you know, that was their job, it came with the part.
The fight between Sabine and Shin looked slow, you could tell how they struggled to remember their next moves, specially, when Sabine looses, there you can clearly see how she's patiently waiting to get stabbed while her arms are up. Can't you at least pay some attention to detail and speed up this in post production?
Hayden and Ewan are loved because of their devotion to their role, because of the endless hours of rehearsals and training that they had to put in to actually look like Jedis, whay can't you demand the same thing from these actors? Thousands would kill for the part, can't you find someone that can actually "fight" realistically? Or provide them with the proper training and make sure they live up to their predecessors?
Anyways, sure, I'll probably keep watching, hoping for the best, however, my hopes ain't too high...
The Mandalorian: Chapter 16: The Rescue (2020)
THIS IS IT! THANK YOU!
This is what the god damn sequels should have looked like!
This series, this episode and specially it's last ten minutes brought me more joy and satisfaction than the last three sequels. I really hate Kathleen Kennedy and those who allowed her to deviate Star Wars so poorly from it's core values.
We finally got to see Luke Skywalker as we really wished!
As who Luke really is; a Jedi knight fighting accros the galaxy, not as an old pesimistic guy throwing his lightsaber away like trash or dying from trying "too hard" sitted on a rock in the middle of nowhere (we will NEVER forget)...
This episode shows us how much WE the fans lost thanks to lazy writing and poor Director choices. Why Disney, why?
We could have had an amazing reunion and story about Luke, Leia and Han getting back together and fighting the Empire, but no... You had to kill them miserably and meaninglessly, fighting against a lame version of the Empire.
You preferred to bet on mostly a bunch of politically correct nobodys instead of going with our beloved heros. You also wasted Adam Driver's talent and gave us in return a mild hero that nobody really wants to see back.
PLEASE Disney remove the sequels from canon! Please go with the alternate universe theory that's floting around the internet right now, we the fans will happily buy it. We want to forget those movies anyways, so whatever excuse you choose to go with to erase them we'll buy it.
Lastly but not least, CONGRATULATIONS to John Favreau, to the writers team and to the entire cast & crew from bringing back Star Wars and giving us such an amazing time.
Nuevo orden (2020)
A MUST SEE, Ignore the bad and resented critics
Those who believe that this movie intended to demonize protesters or low income people, got it completely wrong.
The movie is quite raw and pretty straightforward, but at the same time it is incredible precise at showing how divided and resented is society nowadays in MX, specially under the current government which keeps trying to divide society.
This movie will definitely hit hard and different if you live in Mexico, specially in Mexico City, however I believe that a lot of people from LATAM will be able to feel and understand this movie as the Director and it's actors intended.
New Order; is by far one of the best movies done in Mexico in the last decade, it's honest and brave, also serves as a breath of fresh air from all the cheap comedies that MX has been producing through the last decade.
Congratulations to all the cast and crew, you really did an amazing job!
