OUTSTANDING

This is the best movie from India I saw for the last 30 years. And I saw a lot of them. Technical execution, art components and performances are superb. Watching the lead actress doing hundreds of different sensitive emotions and also dancing like a fury in a long, continuous shots like a seasoned pro, I couldn't help myself but compare that 1000 octane acting with spoiled Hollywood female-stars and their mostly flat and sketchy pretending. This actress is not delivering, she is living the character. 10 out of 10, Fantastic movie.

Good atmosphere, holes in the script.

Stockholm syndrome on the highest level. The reason for the couple's inability to run away or for the police to find them in one or two days is a huge question mark. Morbid and interesting, but dragged and forced story during the third act.

Script you can analyze
10 October 2021
This is a beautiful movie and a superb script. Down-toned, rather than "bigger than life" performances, superb cast and acting (Damon, Cottin and Siauvaud are on the Academy Award level), beautifully directed, visualized and edited.

If you are a film scholar, I suggest you analyze this film from every aspect of production. One can learn a lot from it. 10/10 (Or is it just me?)

Quest for fire was somehow better

I adore when people from Gravettian period 20.000 years ago have the mimics and emotional expressions like modern humans, and also ware the industrial knitted fur and boots as their outfit. Melodrama with different backdrop, but still not far from the mainstream popcorn.

Pretty good one.

Very good movie made by the Director with previously no long-feature experience.

An excellent cast that you probably never saw before. This film isn't standard Hollywood. Actors look like soldiers, they don't pretend to "perform" battle. They don't make heroic jokes during action, neither play "hardened" veterans. Just a disciplined young boys. The greatest success of the director of this film is that he managed to give the film a "rich and convincing" look with a relatively low budget.

DYNAMICS ZERO

To be honest, I don't know what was this film about. Riding on a ''Me Too - Weinstein'' wave, tells that it's not easy to be a newcomer secretary in a movie business, if you are not beautiful, sexy, and willing to sleep with your boss (there is, if he is not willing to sleep with you). The problem is, the main character enters the story in a cold, depressive mood, and exits the movie without a single atom changed. So one asks oneself ''what was the purpose of this?'' ''Sofisticated'' and ''deep'' was the target, but ''Boring'' came out as a result.

Wishfull thinking
6 May 2020
The creators of a mini-series have made a significant effort to demonstrate that hardly any straight men existed in Hollywood during the 1940s. While this might be true, there is an ethical dilemma. Using rumors and facts to fill the script with events that happened and using the names of real people while mixing them with wishful fantasies and lies is a lame move. It destroys the tone of the series. For instance, showing Rock Hudson coming out as gay in public in 1946 with a black boyfriend or Ernest Borgnine presenting an Oscar to a non-existent movie with a non-existent cast is unrealistic. Moreover, the series contains extended love scenes that lack gusto, eroticism, or reason, making them redundant. Despite this, six out of seven episodes are watchable. However, the last episode is full of cheesiness and lacks surprise and intensity, making it forgettable.
