Simran (2017)
Simran is a commentary on the lost American dream, the societal lookout on an independent Indian woman and the misplaced fear on brown people post 9/11.
Simran is a commentary on the lost American dream, the societal lookout on an independent Indian woman and the misplaced fear on brown people post 9/11.
The main supporting characters are all one note – the frustrated father, the emotionally fragile mother, the caring partner, the stereotypical colleagues and such caricaturish villains that it is hard to care for any of these people. And this is where Simran falters. The film struggles with identity crisis- it can't seem to decide if it wants to be a comedy or a serious film and this is most evident in the second half when things become so absurd that you will find your eyes rolling.

Safe Haven (2013)
Not at all mysterious
The film starts as if it were some thriller movie and then disappoints again and again. Quickly it takes romantic shades. Tries to go back as if creating a mystery but essentially this is a romantic film. The "mysterious woman" written in the summary is not at all mysterious. In fact it's stupid. I saw this only because I heard it has some twist ending. So much for it. The twist was good, But i guessed it 2 minutes before the twist was actually revealed. Since i am from India, last year we had one Bollywood film with such a twist. So i was not surprised. But it may take some people by surprise. Watch it if you must, for the twist.
Yes, but you can surely skip forward when you are bored and mind you, You will be.
Movie 43 (2013)
Gross!!
This is THE WORST movie I have ever seen. It was so bad that I couldn't complete it. I Felt like vomiting at the sick attempts at what they call humour. When the trailer came I was excited to see so many Big stars together in one film. But the film was horrible. How did the likes of Kate Winslet, Hugh Jackman, Naomi watts, Richard Gere(who did the grossest part), Uma Thurman, Halle Berry(a bit OK) agree on filming this?? I don't think even a psychopath would be able to "enjoy" this film. The DVDs of this "masterpiece" should definitely be used as a torture device.
Be afraid. Be very afraid. And don't tell you weren't warned.
