Profondo rosso (1975)
A film by a deeply disturbed mind... Do not watch if you like animals!!!
At almost 58 years of age I´ve seen my share of horror on film! Growing up inte 70´ies gave me masterpieces such as "The Brood", "It´s alive", "Omen", "The excorcist" and plenty of others.
I used to be a huge fan of horror films all through the 80´ies and 90´ies, but then that interest faded away.
Recently I´ve started to go back to 70´ies horror again, and I stumbled upon this one, and I was very disappointed or should I say, rather disturbed by what I saw.
I did not finish the film since the mutulations and cruelty of animals was shockingly grafic. I never understood the reason to kill/mutulate animals to prove a point, beit on film or not. That only reflects on the writers/directors mind, and judgeing from this film, it´s a deeply disturbed mind.
This film does not make you feel "Oh, but it was only a film", rather the opposite.
While the story itself is a run of the mill bagatelle, it´s gory scenes (and animal mutulations) are portrayed very graphically. It made my stomach turn, and also turn off the "film".
You will not regret not having watched this film, there are plenty of others that are so much better.
Ted - För kärlekens skull (2018)
Embarrassingly bad.....
Sadly I felt the need to tell my oppinion on this b-movie.
I grew up with Teds music and followed his career, and looked forward to this film and can´t understand how they managed to come up with this gibberish...
I will not mention the bad acting and script, it would take too much space..
In the first nine minutes we get to know almost every single important event in Teds life, from playing Bjorn Borg in a tennis cup, to Ted meeting two important females in his life, to show his emotional instability, his emotional sensitivity, to his stiff upper lip dad, his understanding brother and so on and so on...
The film staple important happenings in Teds life one after another until it looks and feels like a hastily composed commersial. This is sad, because Teds life could have been so much better portrayed and acted!
Huge disappoinment!
The Next Three Days (2010)
Another Hollywood victim...
This film is a blueprint of the french film "Pour Elle" (2008), scene by scene Hollywood amaricanizes this film, with a horrible result... I don't know what it is with Hollywood or American culture that makes European films change for the worst when remaked in the US. Perhaps it's the fascination with violence or just lack of refinement, but "Pour Elle" has been turned in to a run of the mill action flick. There is one scene that really points out the differences between European film and American film. In the original script the little boy tells his dad about a schoolmate of his that he doesn't like. The boy say's "He hits a friend of mine", the father asks; "Where", the boy answers; "In the playground". The American script goes as follows: The boy say's; "He hits me", the father asks; "Did you hit back", the boy says; "yes", the father says; "good". There you have all the difference between American and eurpean (film) culture...
Seven Pounds (2008)
No, no, no...
This film made me angry, that's why I felt I had to write this...sorry everyone who thought it was good.
This is a very American film (in its worst sense). It tells us exactly what to feel, when to feel and how to feel. You could easily close your eyes and still know exactly what happens, mainly through the music. The film is a long wait for an obvious ending that gives you no surprises...This film is another "Love Story", but with an underlying message... At the end of the film I was convinced that the film was sponsored by various organ donation organizations.
If you google on "Seven pounds" and "organ donations", you will find comments like this..."I just watched Seven Pounds and now I want to donate my organs..." Well, you tell me the purpose of this film, to me it's basically a commercial trailer for organ donations.
Black Water (2007)
Horrible horror!
All you need to know about this film, is that the crocodile is more intelligent (much more) than the three family members... This was all that I wanted to say about this film, but then I had a message saying that my review was to short, and that I had to submit at least 10 lines of text... Very well...the family in the film seems to be slightly retarded, and I can't understand how the fishing guide had the guts to take them on a boat trip. I prayed the crocodile would take the incredibly stupid girl first, but alas he choose the father (not a bad choice though, for the audience I mean!) Well, thats about 5 lines I would guess, what more can I tell you about this horribly bad horror movie? If you're a horror fan, you know that when you wish for the monster/alien/zombie to finish the main characters off, you know it's not a good movie. There is simply no suspense in this film, and actually you can just listen to the sound track and you will know exactly what goes on, which is not a good thing...Hmm how many lines is that? 10 lines, there you go!
