The Crew (2008)
This film is boss kid!
Being born and raised in Liverpool I have been waiting for something like this to come along, something that shows the true grittiness of the Liverpool streets away from the City Centre and The Beatles, Liverpool is one of the hardest cities in Britain if not the world, places like Huyton, Toxeth and Norris Green are a war zone, gun shots can be heard every night as the rise to the top of the food chain from rival gangs rages on and The Crew portrays this in stunning detail, massively under rated in my eyes, lads I don't recommend watching this with the missus or your kids but trust me you wont be disappointed, action packed, gritty, scouse!
Tyson (2008)
An Absolute Knockout!
This documentary blew me away, before this I only knew of Mike Tyson the once great boxer who people spoke ill of and referred to as animal, anyone who thinks Mike Tyson is nothing more than an animal needs to see this film, you will only come to find that Tyson was an animal in the ring which is greatly shown in the movie as it details his power, speed, strength and the intense training it took for him to become one of the worlds greatest ever fighters, but it also shows what happened when he stepped out of the ring, his story needs to be heard and the way it has been portrayed in this film is amazing from a modern view not your typical HBO Documentary, if you want to see some brutal but effective fighting narrated by the man himself and also see Tyson like you have never seen him before, watch this movie.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)
Could of been so much more...
I summed it up in the summary really, I was hoping for so much from this film, I love comic book hero films and I loved the X-men films and Wolverine is my favourite X-men, X-man? anyway, their was nothing for me to believe I would be disappointed, but seriously guys who wrote this movie, it should of been epic it should of been everything Wolverine is, it should of been the origin of Wolverine! But instead it's 'Hollywood-ized' regurgitated fish puke, Hugh Jackman must of had this film tied to his X-men contract otherwise I don't believe he would of even gotten past the first five pages of the script, on the flip side, well their is plenty of fighting, explosions, cool quotes just before people die stuff, but not enough and not cool enough to be in a Wolverine Film, if I was to compare this film to something like Die Hard it would end up looking like 'stop or my mom will shoot!'.
P.S. I Love You (2007)
Review for the guys...
Guys, If your girlfriend is making you watch this as mine did do not despair! It really isn't that bad, it's got a good storyline and as long as you aren't completely heartless you will be drawn to it, if you don't believe me think of the plus side, you will get points for watching it with her, if anything she will appreciate you more and if not then just make sure you have plenty of snacks around to keep you occupied, I'm a big guy who likes his action films all guns blazing with some nudity on the side, but even I couldn't help but feel emotion towards the story and was genuinely interested throughout. Oh and for any girls reading this I guarantee you will rate it 10/10.
An American Haunting (2005)
Not as bad as others in it's genre...
When I come on these things I don't like to read some essay from someone who considers themselves a better director than Spielberg and an accomplished film critic, I wan't a short "is this film good? yes or no" answer from someone like minded as myself so here it is: An American Haunting isn't a classic and won't be remembered for too long but it does the job of drawing you in to a compelling ghost story, you wont scream, you wont be disgusted, you wont be hiding behind the couch, but more importantly you wont be bored and you wont regret watching it, at the most you will be a little shaken but not disappointed.
Cabin Fever (2002)
What a waste of time and money...
I purchased Cabin Fever whilst looking for a scary movie for me and my girlfriend to watch on Halloween, she scares easily so I wanted something terrifying and spine chilling, before I went shopping I searched for the best horror films and Cabin Fever kept coming up, so I thought "hey it must be good" how stupid and naive I was, this film is just terrible and not in the good horror way, the acting, the fakeness of the blood, the acting, the poor poor Lake Placid 2-3 like special effects, oh god the cringe worthy horrible shallow embarrassing fake acting.
DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE SURROUNDING THIS FILM IT'S A TRICK! THE FILM IS AN UTTER MESS! IF YOU WANT A SCARY FILM GO ELSEWHERE BECAUSE THIS WILL JUST FRUSTRATE AND ANNOY YOU!
