For context, I was born in 1989 and as a teenager I did not have such a wild group of friends as represented in the movie. We didn't scream or drink as much and sex was much more of a taboo. We were pressured into losing our virginity by 16/17 but most of my friends did it with a partner, someone special. In my teenage years, having multiple partners or even having sex without being in a relationship was considered bad - for women, obviously.
Despite all the differences between myself and the main character, I relate to her story deeply. I too was forced into these kinds of situations - and they impacted me for life. It ruined my trust in men, and it was hard to overcome the disgust and guilt related to having sex.
I cried so much watching this that it can only be a sign of a great movie. Such an important topic! We need to make sure the new generations - especially women - are aware of consent. First sexual interactions will impact a woman's life forever, how she feels about herself, her body and her sexuality.
