X2 (2003)

must see again soon

I watched this film last night swayed by the comments of Australian viewers yesterday it was worth it, and although the fight scene with Deathstrike was a little short and Deathstrike was in the film a mutant whereas in the series she was a cyborg her finger-clicking will grab anyones attention. What it lacked, compared to the first film, in "oo look mutants!" it made up for in sheer lethality (Magneto ohmygod!, you evil, evil man!) what did Bryan Singer do hire Quentin Tarrantino as a part-time assistant?

Terrible
1 May 2003
Yes this is a terrible film and yes that is a phone you see in the main characters face but any film is worth watching at least once don't let this review put you off ignore the terrible dialog and abysmal special effects and just enjoy the sight of the security officer with all the personality of a microwave, literally and the bad guy in the "...one place he is always alone...the s**tter" i've never looked at a toilet in quite the same way!

Brilliance

No matter that the animation style cannot be compared to some of the latest works reaching our shores Akira has a certain something it will always be a seminal film. Unfortunately the only problem I can find is that now we have gotten used to the v.o. manga entertainment insists on bringing out a new version digitally remastered with all new voice actors so it becomes like watching a completely different film, but i'm sure i'll get used to it.

Dune (1984)

Greatness

I've read the book and it's good and the film is the best thing that has ever come out of it, the mini-series based on the book was quite frankly rubbish it had completely the wrong atmosphere the film however really made you feel as though you were in the deep desserts of Arrakis. A better set of actors could not have been chosen it is quite simply a masterpiece, unlike the later books of the Dune series.
