Titanic (1997)
The worst movie ever made
I must be so far out of touch with the rest of the world, as I cannot understand at all why this piece of garbage was so popular. When I first saw it, in it's first week of release at Mann's Chinese Theater in LA, I was about to walk out but my wife stopped me. I was virtually shouting at the screen by the last 30 mins which was the most excruciating film watching experience of my life. When Kate Winslet utters the words, "I saw the iceberg and now I see it in your eyes" I was screaming in pain. This film is an utter load of bilge. At the time, I was really angry that I had wasted my time and money on this unmitigated & unrelenting dung. James Cameron is just a competent technician, nothing more. THere is no art in this stuff. Aliens was a ripoff of a really good movie, Alien. Same basic story but without the suspense and existential exploration and a bunch of Spielberg-esque kiddie crap & a bigger budget blown on American-military-industrial advertising. See the Alien DVD and listen to Ridley Scott's commentary and understand the difference between Scott, an artist, and Cameron, an engineer.
TITANIC HAS NO Redeeming FEATURES WHATSOEVER. IT HAS HAD NO LASTING IMPACT ON OUR CULTURE AND HAS DONE NOTHING TO HELP US UNDERSTAND THE TRAGEDY OF THE TITANIC SINKING, OR ANYTHING. DON'T ENCOURAGE THIS GARBAGE BY RENTING THE DVD OR VHS OR EVEN LOOKING AT THE POSTER.
Hell, why are you even reading this review on IMDb??
Hildegarde (2001)
Beautiful heart warming film
Richard E Grant is excellent as the bad guy. Great acting from the kids and an excellent story and script. Recommended for younger kids. Adults will be moved by the story as well.
