Definitely not for everybody

Warning: Spoilers
In my opinion, this is an exceptional show. The story is REALLY smart and, all things considered, there aren't any plot holes, as they cannot really exist. Anyways, in order to better understand the narrative, it is preferable to have some basic knowledge of determinism, quantum physics, multiverse, many worlds and other theories incorporated into the main plot of the show. It's really not that complicated to follow and understand, because the show relies on the most popular and widely-known aspects of those theories. The acting - I see why people complain and, in all honesty, it probably could've been a lot better. To me, personally, it's totally irrelevant, as the story was the main object of my focus throughout the entire show. It's almost as if I were in the Deus, watching some story unfold before my eyes. I must completely disagree with those who stopped watching mid-point through the show. In my opinion, episode 6 is by far the best one - it tends to mess with your view of the world and makes you reassess things you think you know about reality... or realities. Also, there are some who said it could've easily been made into a 2-hour movie - this is simply not true. Yes, the pacing is inconsistent (is consistency REALLY a requirement?), but to cut it short would be to lose all those nifty details that make this show worth your time. I recommend watching all of the episodes at once. Prep two meals or a large bucket of popcorn, have your brain ready at 100% of its operational capacity and enjoy.

So glad I didn't stop watching!
12 March 2020
It is an understatement to say I was pretty much disappointed after the third episode. Everything was there - well, in theory: my favorite genre, a good plot, a great cast, the famous British humor. But something was just off and I even tried watching the first three episodes again after the season finale, but no. I simply don't and can't like them, not sure why. The fourth episode was the game changer. I though it was the first decent one, even had a few laughs ("meh" was my default reaction to any attempt at humor in the previous eps), so I decided to at least try and finish the season. The next three offered a definitive upward momentum in terms of storytelling and humor. There was literally no dialogue, no sentence without at least a dash of perfectly dosed humor. I watched the season finale alone, and it was so funny at moments it made me spew random comments and laugh out loud all by myself. It is a great show, it is a unique show - please, PLEASE don't give up on it! Watch till the end, you won't regret your choice.

Falling Skies (2011–2015)

The most random TV show I've ever watched
31 August 2015
Warning: Spoilers
After watching the entire show - honestly, after S2, continued to watch just because I really respect Steven Spielberg - gave it 5 out of 10 stars because it's average in just about every category. There is no clear story line, most of the key events happen randomly, out of nowhere, and the pace also seems to be changing at random. Also, you just know, since day one, which characters are expendable, and which ones will survive. No matter what happens, no matter how cornered they appear to be, the Masons always manage to pull out easily. Surrounded by 1000 Skitters? No problem, there's probably a subspace turbomodulator buried right under their feet. There's a top secret enemy agenda that could turn the tide of the war at the last moment? No problem, there's a random orange semi-sphere, made by the enemy, that has only one purpose: to transmit those super-secret messages to those who touch it. Sorry, I HONESTLY believe I wrote smarter sci-fi stuff back when I was a 14-year old kid. As sci-fi as a genre declines even further, the audience seems not to care at all about the quality of the shows anymore. Honestly, I'm surprised by the number of people calling this show a good, fresh or smart one. It's really not.

IP addresses PLEASE!
14 July 2015
All the other reviews pretty much say it all, but what I fail to understand is this: the story is about a networking wizard, yet there is an elementary mistake in the pilot. episode I know common people can't notice it, and it's not really relevant for the storyline, but then this show was not exactly made for common people. Can there PLEASE be a TV show, once, in the history of television, where there aren't impossible IP addresses? It is basic stuff! In a computer related show, this kind of a mistake is like - dunno - trying to write a script for a western where cowboys wear kevlar and use tactical nukes. If you can look past many technical ... imperfections, it's a solid show. I'm giving it 7/10 for now.

Z Nation: Puppies and Kittens (2014)

Leaves much to be desired
18 September 2014
Warning: Spoilers
To be honest, I expected much, much more after seeing the trailer. There is still plenty of time for improvements, however the pilot was so terrible this might be the first show ever I decide to give up on after only one episode. The only good thing in this show is running zombies, which promises some fighting action, but pretty much everything else is really bad. * SPOILER AHEAD * Hammond leaves the vaccinated guy in the room packed with raging zombies, then returns minutes later after having a nice chat at the rooftop entrance to save him (?! even before he left the room the zombies were tearing flesh off the poor dude), and later we find out that the vaccine had obviously worked, and the guy has a few scars as a proof. After a pack of zombies had feasted on him for a couple of minutes. Yeah right.
